Thank you for taking time to visit, and I hope I am even a tiny bit helpful as I have been helped and blessed by so many others. I have been doing Calligraphy since teens, and card making for many years as well. In 1990 I delighted in the joys of stamping with ink and embossing after a trip to Cairns, Qld. In 2009 I discovered the brayer, 2010 the Cuttlebug, also have now taking to reading up on crafting blogs and lo! Here I am, on one of my own.

I live on the coast of eastern Australia. I am a Christian. I trusted in the LORD down here at the beach, amazingly it is not far from where I now live. It was over 50 years ago, after a Beach Mission Service at the age of 12 years

Snippets and Scrappy Mo’s Christmas challenge + WOYWW

Well, will try to be brief, not 100% here - more of that later, am here for crafty share. So pop over to Julia’s for WOYWW or What is On Your Workdesk Wednesday at Julia’s Stamping Ground! Also linking up with the last Christmas challenge over at Scrappy Mo’s here.
This is actually last Wednesday desk, but no time to share. In middle of making a birthday card for a dear friend in nursing home in Melbourne, using 2010 SU chalks. With fingertip adding little highlight with appropriate colour around embossed edge of die. I chuckled when a video crafter said we have the best ink dauber on the end of our hand, fingers! inks work too, somehow it’s more subtle.
Surprise with next announcement, I’ve made all my Christmas cards and mailed them!
Yesterday  had my lesion removed from right shin 🙁 and yes, it’s hurting lots.
I knew it would, and worked like crazy to get all done, now I can lie on bed and read, as must be elevated..
Firstly sharing Christmas cards, these number 15 in total, quick & easy but varied style with a topper.  Love Nativity image and “He is still found of them that seek Him”
 Oh, that all would!
Washi used on most of them, few embossed.
This Christmas card was using a diecut negative as stencil, with DI colours + coloured pencils too, Nellie Snellen Nativity Stamp in Versafine blue embossed and Sweet Poppy die Stamp set Joy to world, white embossed.

Last card is completed birthday card Die is SB Gold labels 8, ODB lace border, Lala land filigree die. Lots of snippets on card - the small piece of digi paper was sitting around for months, in “use it or else” bag, white snippets for other pieces.
Verse is Stampendous Stamp, in Versafine Imperial Purple, embossed. Love verse from Ps 91. Will share at end.
Last images are again local on fires, our fire now controlled (praise God) but still growing, and largest (183,000 hectares = 452,000 acres).
The first image is a new fire started overnight in mountains west of here.
Next is image one of Darryn Michelle’s home late yest, their property was the badly drought affected farm shared a month ago - that’s a storm in background, brought good rain but bad winds lost part of roof but RFS and SES put tarps over it.
Last two are good coming out of bad.
First is my hometown in high school years, where “Blaze-aid” volunteers are rebuilding fences for farms in some difficult terrain. Hard work working with barbed wire and fencing tools!
Last image shows God’s blessing, a lot of Australian fauna depend on fires for flowering, fires are so much part of environment here. These beautiful Christmas bells used to flower here where live, before homes were built.
For those who think I’m writing this sitting at a computer, don’t worry I’m lying in bed with leg elevated, writing on iPad. To be honest leg wouldn’t let me do other wise. I write all my posts on iPad these days, add images and edit on Android phone. Both on Chrome, Google talks to Google but is limited with Apple, unless download an app.
Well, that’s it for me, I pray with all my heart that soon drought breaking rain is here, we have had some small amounts and larger amounts in needed areas and grateful for it, but praying for much more, presently over 100 fires in our state..
God bless your day wherever you maybe, and keep you and those you love safe,
Prayer hugs, Shaz in Oz.x
Thought for the day:
This chapter in Psalms is sometimes called the Christian’s insurance policy.
He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord,
He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust. Psalm 91:1-2

My dear sweet sister, I'm so glad that your surgery was successful and I'm also happy that you are resting as told so your recovery can go quickly.
The cards you made are lovely. I especially love the first one. We can, indeed find Him if we only would seek Him.
I'm so sorry about your friends roof, but very, very pleased to hear about the rain that has fallen. I pray it wil continue to fall, GENTLY, and without the strong winds.
I will also be praying for a full recovery for you.
Blessings,
Betsy

Well done on getting all those cards made and so beautifully. Praying for your recovery and good to hear you can do it all on an iPad with your foot raised. Must learn how to post to my blog from the iPad....probably needs a software update but I never have time for boring techno stuff. Scary pictures of the fire/winds/dust and everything else that this country throws at us. But we are a resilient lot with the best volunteers. Rest well

Beautiful cards, Shaz, and I do love that fabulous palette of colours! Quite delicious. I'm so sorry for all who have been affected by the fires in Oz, but as you say, the flora and fauna depend on fires to renew the landscape. Fires only became a problem with the advance of civilisation... I hope and pray that everyone stays safe though. I love the last picture on your post - adorable! As for Ps. 91, it is one of my favourites. I always remember Corrie ten Boom quoting that, and taking so much comfort from it when she was imprisoned by the Nazis in WW2. We have the best insurance company in the universe - it's called Blessed Assurance! And the premium is all paid up! Hallelujah! I think the Lord is allowing the pants situation to happen again, to develop the fruit of patience in me... Not easy!! Thank you again so much for your prayers re PIP - I couldn't have hoped for a better result, and I am so relieved. I am glad you like the Tudor gown so far - I am making good progress and really enjoying this project. The kitties are always good for a giggle too, aren't they! I couldn't resist taking that photo of my hubby on the floor, while Ruby lounged in his chair!

God bless and happy belated WOYWW,

I’m late Shaz, sorry! Very glad to hear your surgery was successful and that you are resting up and elevating...I really hope the pain subsides quickly and you can start to feel comfortable in any position! Super you - getting all your beautiful cards done prior to the op, my word what a feat! Amazed and delighted to see flowering amongst the ashes, such a sign of hope for those who are affected.

First of all, Shaz, I'm glad you've had the lesion removed and I hope the healing goes well and you'll soon be on your feet again.

Second, thank you for sharing the photos of the fire area and the beautiful flower. We don't get much news of it here with what's going on. My prayers continue for lots and lots of rain and strength and protection for those deployed to fight the fires.

Last, and certainly not least, I love your pretty Christmas cards! I especially love the one you sent to me! Thank you and thank you for your kind words and inserts! I totally agree that the hours get less as we get older!! Happy Holiday Hugs, Darnell

LOVE your shepherds Christmas cards. They are beautiful and so very Southern hemisphere in their colouring. Hard to imagine that you have Christmnas in Summer, when everything is so cold everywhere else. We concentrate on snowy images, you on sun!
I admit I haven't prayed for rain for you guys, but I will now, having read this (got here on a search for something else)...hope things are better by this time. Also hope you're much, much better by now. God bless and Happy Christmas wishes! Cath x
