Thank you for taking time to visit, and I hope I am even a tiny bit helpful as I have been helped and blessed by so many others. I have been doing Calligraphy since teens, and card making for many years as well. In 1990 I delighted in the joys of stamping with ink and embossing after a trip to Cairns, Qld. In 2009 I discovered the brayer, 2010 the Cuttlebug, also have now taking to reading up on crafting blogs and lo! Here I am, on one of my own.

I live on the coast of eastern Australia. I am a Christian. I trusted in the LORD down here at the beach, amazingly it is not far from where I now live. It was over 50 years ago, after a Beach Mission Service at the age of 12 years

Perfect Pearls Brilliance inks with Embossing folder + WOYWW

Yes, it’s Wednesday again and popping in with a desky share + all the cards made of late. Desky share is for WOYWW - What is On Your Workdesk Wednesday, over HERE at Julia's Stamping Ground.

My desk is today, have made a card. About to replicate it with section left in desk centre, lighting isn't particularly good, sorry - grey day.

This sheet was a failed piece of watercolour, embossed with CB Oriental Folder, turned  into something beautiful by layering a selection of Brilliance teardrop inks, then added Perfect Pearls Interference Violet to the top of the embossed edge..

The die and fiddly bits of die cuts are popped on plate, with pricking tool. The die is a long owned but never carded CCD. As this card is to go to Japan the oriental feel was most apt

See close up here - subtle beauty!
The finished card, quite simple.
CAS style is very Japanese! The Verse "Love the Lord Thy God with all thy heart" is a beautiful verse, gold heat embossed, is discontinued. Most of my stamps are, by Aust company Printblocks. Just added three score lines with rounded corners as finishing touch.
Next card was made before Christmas, you can see Alcohol on Acetate technique. Unfinished card was on this post here. The layout is described there too. Gold EP verse unknown, red rubber, unmounted set from eBay. Diecut is another CCD of same vintage, don't think its been used on here before either, another NBUS.

Now to the  Aussie shots.
My roses are still flowering - amazing yellow cut rose, Dr Verhage, very fragrant, as most of ours are. The heat of last ten days have slowed blooms, but this rainy patch will help.
A beautiful sunset out our backdoor.
Then the beach fix for those who need blue skies. I'm still blessed, & enjoying walks, but slack re taking photos when out.

Thanks for visiting, especially if you have time for a chat, I'll do my very best to reciprocate.

Prayer hugs, Shaz in Oz.x

Thought for the day:

"I will bless the Lord at ALL times: HIS praise shall continually be in my mouth." Ps 34:1

Not all the Psalms are written by David, titles often indicate authorship.
This one is entitled:
Psalm 34 - By David, when he pretended to be insane before Abimelech, causing the king to send him away.
David was often in trouble - just like our days, it didn't always go smoothly!

Here his life was at threat, so he pretended to be mad ->he was sent away. So let us take heart.. let us like David, cheer up, and praise the LORD!

Count our blessings, or as Pollyanna would say ... every cloud has a silver lining, if we but look for it!

So looking up to the LORD and .. not at the mud underneath!

I’m doing my rounds while I wait for Julia to put her post up so there’s no link as yet....I’m sure you know where to find me.
I love the latest cards you’ve made and your photos of the wonderful world around you always makes me smile.

I love the Japanese feel to your card, but then I’m programmed to like Japanese art. My father went from Christmas in Botany Bay ( he wanted my Mum to emigrate there but she wouldn’t) to Japan and despite the war horrors, he loved the place.
Take care and happy WOYWW

Love your cards, especially the Japanese one. The use of three score lines was inspired! I read about prayer flags the other day, I quite like the idea although I guess the term could be applied to a lot of Biblical art if you are hanging it for display. Great photographs, I love roses - just not the thorns! Have a great week Angela #10

I absolutely love the Japanese card, the image is gorgeous and I like the CAS style very much. Look at those glorious roses, love the bright yellow, it’s going to be a while before we get ours but it’s something to look forward too. I’m a fan of Old English roses which have amazing perfumes.
I owe you an email, sorry, will catch up in the next couple of days, I wasn’t so good last week.

Hi Shaz! Beautiful cards! I love how we can take something we originally didn't like and turn it into something beautiful, magic! The Aussie pics are lovely, especially considering the copious amounts of snow we have right now. I could use a sunny beach right about now! Have a great week, Lindart #23

Hi Shaz, I think you're right about the Posca pens they work well on certain surfaces but do take time to get going. The new pen I bought is a bit like that and I still prefer the Uniball but I've just got another new one today so we'll see how that goes. The die you used for the Japanese card is beautiful and the second die is one of my favourites which I've had for a long time and not used for ages so thanks for reminding me. Your photographs of the local area are beautiful. I feel blessed to know you and hope you are well. Sending hugs, Angela x1x

Beautiful cards Shaz…you do rescue pieces that I wouldn’t see the potential of. Love how you use your stash so readily, alcohol inks, pearls, embossing folders…can’t emembee the last time I used all of those on a single card! That panel turned out beautifully, the card just looks great. The card on my desk is 3 stamps and a printed paper…’awesome’ text by Visible Image, notebook page by Francoise for Woodware and an old splatter stamp by Art impressions. The splatters were added because the stamp was on my desk from previous use!! Lazy.
Your roses are fab, don’t they grow beautifully to allow you to cut them on such long stems…none of mine will do that however successfully they grow! Sunsets have been good here too on really bright cold days, but at the moment we’re covered in murky cloud which is not good for the mood! Hope the rain is refreshing and useful, but doesn’t last tooooo long!

My desk is a disaster!
I made cards, now I'm making treat holders, for a tea bag and a piece of chocolate.
Your cards are lovely, and your roses are gorgeous!
We have snow here, but I ordered some flower seeds yesterday!

I love both your beauties, Shaz! And I love that I learn something or want to CASE your designs every time I visit. Your first design is classic in its simplicity with the layout and score lines and your border display makes it elegant and classy. And the second allows that fabulous background to shine! Thank you so much for inspiring me and everyone at NBUS! Have a wonderful week! Hugs, Darnell p.s. Love the Aussie photos, too!!

Such pretty cards Shaz. I'm always amazed at the beautiful cards. The first one is my favorite. I have a special place in my heart for Japan and it's beautiful artwork.
Your roses and other Aussie photos are beautiful too. It's SO cold here tonight. -8F right now. There are no flowers outside in our area.
Praying you'll have a lovely day and feel the Lords peace all around you.
Blessings and hugs,
Betsy

What beautiful cards Shaz - loving your use of colour on the embossing folders, that is gorgeous! The first one is sheer perfection!!
I only have two roses here at the rental, and they look to only have one short flowering session per year, but both are fragrant...
Stay safe
Blessings

Hi Shaz, it's lovely to catch up with you once again. Your cards are beautiful. Love the alcohol ink background and your effective use of those intricate dies. So nice to see your roses at a time when there's very little colour in my garden. We do have blue skies here too but that's because it's so cold, -2 degrees yesterday. Have a good weekend. Hi Shaz, I love the Japanese inspired card, I thought it was a slimline card, I have a friend with a Japanese daughter-in-law and she always asks for a special card with her in mind. Love the white die-cut looks a bit like a Waratah. I hope you are on the mend, I also keep arnica and calendula creams from the local health food store on hand. Have a wonderful week... Megan

Hello Shaz! Your card creation is so very beautiful! I love how you took something that didn't work for another project, and turned it into something new and amazing. Reminds me of how the Lord works in our lives, sometimes we think there are things in our lives that belong in the scrap pile, but He can pull them out and make them into something beautiful. Enjoyed your beautiful beach view, so lovely! Have a wonderfully blessed weekend :)
