Thank you for taking time to visit, and I hope I am even a tiny bit helpful as I have been helped and blessed by so many others. I have been doing Calligraphy since teens, and card making for many years as well. In 1990 I delighted in the joys of stamping with ink and embossing after a trip to Cairns, Qld. In 2009 I discovered the brayer, 2010 the Cuttlebug, also have now taking to reading up on crafting blogs and lo! Here I am, on one of my own.

I live on the coast of eastern Australia. I am a Christian. I trusted in the LORD down here at the beach, amazingly it is not far from where I now live. It was over 50 years ago, after a Beach Mission Service at the age of 12 years

Floating Shaker Card + Two Mo’s Challenge + WOYWW

{Apologies 😉 for long post, have some tips, techniques}
Observant ones might know well that today’s Wednesday AND the 25th of September, yes, folks three months till my favourite day of the year - Christmas! Twelve or so rapidly disappearing weeks.
I love Christmas, but not how quickly they come around! As it’s desk day or WOYWW, do pop over to our wonderful Julia’s for What is On Your Workdesk Wednesday.
To my desk(s):
Desk 1: No surprise! this morning’s desk has a Christmas card in an attempt to upcycle an image from last years received cards, to join up with Scrappy Mo’s Christmas Challenge.. over here. First die cut on desk failed. It was extended die cut, so will re-attempt. This is why Snippets abound chez moi. I excell in mistakes! There’s a Christmas stamp set on left to use. On right are used dies awaiting a return to their homes.
Desk 2: have just worked out good way to correct a EF attempt I don’t like. I’d used a CB folder not liked it on card base which is 5x7",  folder  too small. Decided to water spritz both sides of card front, then multiple emboss with my fav Embossalicious Swirls folder! Wow, what a great result. No evidence of previous embossing.

Here’s finished card. Gold is CCD extended die cut, bought set while ago, very versatile. Joy to world stamp die set by Poppy Stamps. Greeting says "Tidings of Comfort and JOY" to complement the wise men image.
Desk 3:Working on Emily’s 8th birthday, hard to believe she’s 8! The card had many stages, four base card attempts till sorted it out!!! Tip re last week’s spinner cards .. use only simple shape images. This image I loved, sadly did NOT work as spinner.
So ended up with this - image by second Mo mentioned in post title.
A  "Mo Manning Digital Pencil" mermaid digi, called "Naunet.  Inverted image in Picasa (as Cntrl + Shift +H keystrokes inverts an image or photo). Coloured them with glimmery gelly roll pens, used 3 weeks ago. Wanted glimmer on image so perfect solution. Fussy cut 2 images  to make it strong, put a silver embroidery thread between middle of joined images, as planned to suspend it in shaker card (see Jennifer McGuire video here). Have shaker sequins, etc. on left in bowl. Had printed an background underwater sea digi via Google. Edited it on phone, as couldn’t on computer.
Completed card. Centre die cut is another CCD bought ages ago, it’s a small vertical oval, I enlarged it by cutting 2/3 one way and 2/3 other way and trimming up in middle. Did test runs first.
The mermaid image has loose thread suspended in background. Stops it turning upside down as you shake and it jiggles around.. looks great. Had glued on background some beads & sequins + some teeny coloured fussy cut fish as well. Delighted with end result.
The birthday greeting stamp is one from disc set by Joanna, Inspired to Stamp. Heat embossed, used first Memento Bermuda blue, then adding versamark on top of Memento and clear heat embossed. Braid to finish, numbers are CB Olivia alphabet disc. Everything was popped up for dimension.
Now to Aussie shots. These are from a lovely walk through over headland in north part of our town with family, there’s a cute wallaby standing so still hoping we can’t see him - the rest are sea views.
Well, that’s it for me today. I do hope you’re well, I’m grateful for our lovely spring sunshine and showers, but really, really pray it goes over the hills to parched lands there.
May God bless your day, everyone, and thanks so very much for popping over for a visit and chat.
Prayer hugs, Shaz in Oz.x
Thought for the day:
In the midst of life storms, our Heavenly Father longs to help comfort, just as we love to comfort help our children - so He longs that we might turn to Him for peace, help in the midst of storm.

Extend a Flower Die + Anything Goes Challenge - DT Bizzy Bec's + Friday Smiles

WARNING: picture-heavy, wordy post!!!

Well, blink again, and here's the beautiful month of May. You can't beat Autumn here in Oz.
Time for ANYTHING GOES May Challenge over HERE at Bizzy Bec's ...please do pop in you might win that monthly prize, which Bec so kindly gives!!!
Also sharing some Friday smiles at the end of the post 😁.
My card or cards are CAS, and are a really favourite design. Saw idea for it on Pinterest. Here is a peek, two colours made.
With embossing buddy (show how to make these over here) cover the smoother side of watercolour paper with powder. On watercolour paper with Versamark ink pad, ink up the Darkroom Door French Script Background stamp (love this background stamp! If no background stamps in your collection, I suggest this, my most used one, plus Bec has this at one amazing price!). Ink it up really really well with Versamark. Did it thoroughly, 5 or 6 times all over.
TIP: Imperfect stamping (when embossing) is often simply a lack of ink, or stamp is moved too quickly, especially when using a clear ink. Stamp very firmly on cardstock and **press it firmly onto paper for few moments before lifting.
Watercolour is the most difficult paper to stamp on, because of its surface and you shouldn't rush it. Both pieces stamped perfectly when done this way. Emboss with white EP and heat set (didn't use clear EP, as this was a creamy watercolour paper & didn't want it cream stamping).
You can just see the script embossing shine on part of this image below, too.
Sprinkle lightly some brushos of your choice or alternatively sponge Distress or some other inks to cover the paper.
1. Brushos Prussian Blue, Cobalt, Aquamarine and Crimson.
2nd example -  Brushos Prussian Blue, Cobalt, Sea Green, Lime Green. Love them both.

Once sprinkled on use a fine mist sprayer and spritz the area till nicely blended.
Dab off excess water on edges or where needed. Heat dry a little then allow to dry in autumn sun (if you live here 😉).
Next I made up card size I wanted to use, then die cut out the frame close to folded side of card. Used the largest Die from the SB Classic Long Rectangles Small set (ask Bec if she can get it as showing large set online in other sites.)
Used some scrap cardstock to next cut out a frame. I trimmed it bit bigger than size of die cut, so when cut and embossed it gave an even border around it.
Put it aside to adhere after other die cuts. (*I use Glue stick, if using double-sided tape, for ease of placement or moving around).
With the Memory Box Chloe Stem Die, cut one flower stem out of scrap card.
and then partially cut another - to narrow part of stem about 2 cm down. Put top plate to the furthest edge you want it to go, so it doesn't cut further down to the thicker part of stem.
Then lifted it up and moved it up the stem of flower to lengthen it (as shown in photos) so they were two different lengths. Placed again the top plate so the edge of it stopped cutting when near top of flower.

Adhered both stems, at suitable angles underneath base of frame, so they're hidden. Then layered the frame with finely trimmed mounted tape onto open aperture on card. Added pop dots and/or silicone glue under flowers to raise them off the Emboss Resist panel.

With scrap from the brusho panel, cut with a favourite " Happy Birthday " Die by Elizabeth Crafts.
Reasons for this being an excellent die: *it is beautifully written, cuts well and is such suitable size. Die cut two white ones two with double-sided tape. Added the layers.
TIP:
Leave bottom layer of words in Die cut cardstock to add top layer of words. Much easier this way, as it is still in shape and grounded.

Two beautiful cards for birthdays in our family, one for 5th May, and one for 6th, I do hope everyone else loves them too.
Now to my Smiles, at an orchid show here at the weekend with family.
