Thank you for taking time to visit, and I hope I am even a tiny bit helpful as I have been helped and blessed by so many others. I have been doing Calligraphy since teens, and card making for many years as well. In 1990 I delighted in the joys of stamping with ink and embossing after a trip to Cairns, Qld. In 2009 I discovered the brayer, 2010 the Cuttlebug, also have now taking to reading up on crafting blogs and lo! Here I am, on one of my own.

I live on the coast of eastern Australia. I am a Christian. I trusted in the LORD down here at the beach, amazingly it is not far from where I now live. It was over 50 years ago, after a Beach Mission Service at the age of 12 years

Oriental Lantern Peels Offs On Vellum - Cardmaking Online DT Tutorial

Hi there everyone - here is is a very different card for you today!

1. Choose Peel Off Oriental lanterns which you would like to use for this project. You may need to refer to the Card layer size to guide you in choice.
2. Lift out lantern outline with pricking tool, place on plain Vellum.
3. Take Gelly Roll pens and colour  on top of vellum the inside detail of lanterns, using colours to match the papers chosen.
TIP: Shade and blend as you go - remember to use primary colours to get secondary colours if necessary ie red and yellow make orange, add bit of blue to this and you have brown, etc. Test colours on scrap of vellum first.
4. Use curved scissors to cut around fine outside edge of the peel offs.
5.Take the card layer of choice ( Oriental Garden bridge) and turn it over use scraps to shade in spaces at the back (see photo below). For the lotus flower the glitter card from previous card was used, for leaf a piece of green plastic, and a piece of gold from another card for Chinese building and corrugated card for bridge.
6. Adhere the coloured lantern shapes to the decorated card layer with small 3D mounts.
7. Use a silver peel off border straight line to make the ;lanterns look as if they are hanging lanterns.
8.Attach to Oriental paper set - these  sheets are lovely!

Lovely card Shaz, but then I love all things oriental. I had a great time today with crafty friends - thanks for asking. Nothing better than good company, a bit of chat and some shopping - my feet hurt now though.
