Thank you for taking time to visit, and I hope I am even a tiny bit helpful as I have been helped and blessed by so many others. I have been doing Calligraphy since teens, and card making for many years as well. In 1990 I delighted in the joys of stamping with ink and embossing after a trip to Cairns, Qld. In 2009 I discovered the brayer, 2010 the Cuttlebug, also have now taking to reading up on crafting blogs and lo! Here I am, on one of my own.

I live on the coast of eastern Australia. I am a Christian. I trusted in the LORD down here at the beach, amazingly it is not far from where I now live. It was over 50 years ago, after a Beach Mission Service at the age of 12 years

WOYWW Stampscapes + Clogged Glimmermist????

Hullo there everyone - sorry things have been a bit quiet but you know how it is! I have been silent as had doctor's visit down in Sydney last week and rejoicing over improvement in results,  yay! thanks LORD! :D
Here on my desk today... mm bit messy.  Supervisors in attendance  - they actually do live here but move around a bit of course!!
You can see some sprays of glimmermist, Cosmic shimmer mist, etc. to the right. These have become clogged up because I did not read the fine print about washing them after use to prevent clogging!!
DER!!! now I am wondering what to use to unclog them...was thinking of cleaning spray head with methylated spirits - or should I start with warm soapy water??
A new addition to left of my desk! Another "hand me down" from my sister for my new room - how cool is that? things to be sorted but great storage and height wise next to my desk.

Also on desk are some brayer snippets decided to make into cards - you see I tend to do a number at once when playing then make them up later. I was looking at the Stampscapes one when came up with this idea.
With this one I wanted to make a square, with a border edge around it. All my dies were a fraction too small and I was loathe to cut the picture down.
Then I thought, why not cut the die to pieces? {Addendum - some folks seems to think I cut the die up- I did not! I cut the die-cut of black card  to pieces :D not the actual die.}
This the beauty of this die, Spellbinders Fleur de Lis square, it lends it self to this exactly - see ... none of the pattern is lost. This would make very good corners for a larger card or if you want smaller corners, just use one of the smaller dies.

Anyway Julia, head teacher of WOYWW (oh yes, WE ARE looking at desks folks, cos it IS: "What  Is On Your Workdesk Wednesday?") will be proud of my brevity. Do pop over to her fantastic blog and join us today!
Thanks so much for popping over for a peek an a chat. May God bless your day wherever you may be!

That Stampscape scene is wonderful! And I love the die corners.
Think I would just soak them in warm water to begin with Shaz - not the cards, the spray thingies LOL.
If I remember I will be writing soon. Head has been all over the place.
Hugs, Neet xx

I'm sure you will get tons of advice on unclogging the mists, but this is what I do. I don't wash mine out after every use either, but make sure they stand upright and they don't seem to clog very much. Anyway, I put very hot water in the sink bowl and lower the tube down into and then pump the mister. It usually clears up quickly. Hope that helps. waving hi from the sandy beaches of Florida ;0

I'm so pleased that you're seeing some improvements in results! Praise God! Your Stampscapes piece is breathtakingly beautiful. I love the serene feel. Clever to chop up the die cut like that too - will have to remember that trick next time my measurements don't add up (that's pretty much every card then...) Happy WOYWW! Victoria no.55

Now I know why my mists are all clogged and no longer spray. I use water on Color Mists from Ranger, but have not tried that with the Glimmer Mists. What a mess for both of us, I guess. Thanks for your earlier visit. I'll let you know when my package arrives.

Firstly, huge HOORAYS for the health news...that's made me smile. Long may the improvement continue!!
Secondly, I love that card - it's unusual to see a landscape like that against pink, but it really works..and I like the baroque border as well. Very nice indeed!!

Thanks for your lovely comment Shaz and so glad you're doing a bit better healthwise. You have made some gorgeous cards lately and my browse through your blog was so enjoyable. The photos of the rough sea are amazing.. I love the wildness of it all.
Warm soapy water should clear your Glimmer Mists but I find it is better to decant them into smaller spritzer... the type that hand sanitiser or mosquito repellent comes in. It is also handy when using these if you want to mix small amount of colour or to dilute strong colours with water. It makes the mists go further too.
Lots of love Jo x

Oh my!!! Here's the alternative view about cutting your die...I've often cut stamps but a die???? My dear, dear friend in the southern hemisphere....the 'scene' cost cents and could be done again....and the die A$$$$$ - having said all that I find this die a pain to work with to be honest....even though I use a liner paper etc and dust with powder it takes forever to get all those wee bits out when one is in a hurry.....so do you mean you cut it into 4 and used the result as moveable corners for any size 'scene'? It certainly looks good and of course you can do exactly what you want with your die...me, well you see that plain space is where I write the greeting on but I am just thinking that that is no reason at all for not cutting (you see, I'm coming round already) as I could cut another square with another die and use that to write on....what a thought process is going on as I write....for those of you who think I'm not polite to Sharon...don't worry, we know each other well and give each other carte blanche in speaking our minds LOL!!
The sun is shining in Northern Ireland - wowee........

Absolutely stunning work as usual Shaz!Your work is so inspiring and ref0rming a die to how you want is a wonderful idea! Go gal go! If you do a Google search on how to unclog GM's, you will find videos etc. I will e-mail you separate instructions butpull apart your nozzle and soak in hot water, then use a needle and canned air, (the sort you use to clean off computers). You may try putting in a couple f small beads and swirling rather than shaking to mix? I don't own GM's so I don't really know what I'm talking about, but it's a thought! TFS your wonderful art, craft room and scenery!

What a darned good idea that cutting of the Fleur de Lis is. Thanks for the tip. Must pass it on and as I am deming the Calibur today am in the right place to do so. Will proudly tell them it was my friend Shaz in Oz's idea.

Very clever use of the die, Shaz - love the result. I love the colours on the card/tag on your desk too - beautifully blended!

Thanks for your lovely comment, and I really appreciate your prayers. I'm exhausted today so stayed home to rest as much as possible. My hubby has just come back from visiting my dad and says he's not doing well - he doesn't seem to have improved despite the antibiotics and being rehydrated, and is very confused. It's so sad.

Happy belated WOYWW,
