Thank you for taking time to visit, and I hope I am even a tiny bit helpful as I have been helped and blessed by so many others. I have been doing Calligraphy since teens, and card making for many years as well. In 1990 I delighted in the joys of stamping with ink and embossing after a trip to Cairns, Qld. In 2009 I discovered the brayer, 2010 the Cuttlebug, also have now taking to reading up on crafting blogs and lo! Here I am, on one of my own.

I live on the coast of eastern Australia. I am a Christian. I trusted in the LORD down here at the beach, amazingly it is not far from where I now live. It was over 50 years ago, after a Beach Mission Service at the age of 12 years

Artneko Christian Images of Children + Texts ~ Snippety like!

Hullo there everyone! Some "snippety" work to share with you here today! First off is some masking and black silhouette embossing with image below. Stamped + embossed image on white snippet. Use Nestie die cut for mask, used Adirondack lemonade and Cloudy blue, mixed with Distress Ink Broken China. The folder is from Forever Friends and used glitter on red embossed heart to tie in with greeting.
Stamps are a new set from Artneko, Christian Images of Children + Texts. So good to work with, so beautifully cut, love them! here they are here. You dont have to buy whole sheet, they can be bought individually
One post few weeks ago, I used some of these stamps with the polished stone method back on this post here... lovely inky fun!
Another snippets card - had this lovely piece of rose paper (Bearly My Design digi paper) left and the purple and thought could make card with that! so here we are. I used my long Xcut scallop rectangles for the scallop edge.. shifted twice to get the length, plus SU scallop and oval punch with Daily Bread mini tag stamp. Karen, who I sent this card to is really going through the mill. May God strengthen and encourage her heart and pour out His healing mercy - "as thy days, so shall thy strength be" (Deut. 33:22) and I pray for the needs of your heart, too.
Have more cards to share but not time to post it seems. Commenting will be made as able - but really appreciate you all popping over and caring to comment. May God richly bless your day wherever you may be!

Oriental Stamp Art Challenge + WOYWW

Yes! hard to believe but here we are again.. checking out desks of the world over at Julia's blog - because, believe it or not, another Wednesday is here! So it is time to link up for What is On Your Workdesk Wednesday!
So here is my desk! As usual a number of things on the go! firstly getting ready to make a card on the left from wonderful Nicecrane images top set was very kindly sent to me for free by Ignacio after I made a comment on Ginny's post on how much I loved the images (- see here her cards with these Birds and Blossoms are just wonderful).
I also decided to buy this Vintage Butterfly and Blossoms set so .. all being well! and am making a card on the right.

You see, over at Oriental Stamp art there is a challenge to make a card using circles folded into squares as a card.. it was an idea from my birthday card by Joyce, see her card on left - she used circles folded into squares to make her cheery striking card.
As I sent the idea in for the card I really thought I needed to make the effort - hence my punching and playing!! and here below is my humble effort. I used double sided paper for two reasons.. meant did not need to paste and as Joyce rightly said it was a problem on her card (mind you love here papers very much) and secondly my punch would punch this but not the washi paper.
I used some Artneko stamps (unmounted, and on sale - see links) on mine and handmade buttons, stamped with another AAA stamp. Happy birthday is also Artneko. This card is good way to use up snippets!
Here is the Aussie shot of the day - a rainbow lorikeet spied through my kitchen window, nectar loving, they are enjoying the coral Bottlebrush blooms at the moment.
Must move along and try my hand at making the second card in between visiting folk with WOYWW - a learning zone! May God bless your day wherever you may be, and thanks fr popping over for a peek and chat!

Inkadinkado 'Standing Seagull' card + Word Art Wed. verses.

Hullo there everyone.
Some time ago late last year, I was in need of male special birthday card and  so out came the Hero arts Seagull stamp, black ink, watercolour paper, PanPastels and mixed pens to colour.
The card was for a brother in the LORD who has had many struggles with his health so thought it appropriate to put on this card a verse of encouragement - one of many favourite ones from Lamentations 3: 22-23.
I think sometimes we are so blinded by the situation or trial that we may be going through we fail to see the many mercies of the LORD in our lives.
I know it is so for me, and ill health seems to be a constant thorn in the side. But God is in it, with us and through to the other side (see here - a helpful post).
The second of the two cards was one for my "super-wonderful" dad, who turned 85 a few days back! Same image as above - it was sitting there (snippetty-like) begging to be used up so out comes same card in different format.
The layout was an idea formed after looking at man's card over at Jobear's blog - here. Have used my Xcut scalloped rectangles to make a fine scallop edge on star paper. You have to shift them twice to extend the die, and only cut one side at a time, but worth it, I think.
I just remembered the stamp was really bought because of Jobear, too .. see her original post over here with card also with port-hole effect (really like how she 3D-ed the rope on it.. had forgotten all about this card. Was from 2010, so guess there is a reason :D)
Cuttlebug "Oliva" numbers were used on both cards. Spellbinder for greetings, labels 4, and Petite scallop ovals.
Well, thanks so much every one for popping over for peek and chat and may God bless your day wherever you may be. Shaz in Oz.x

Mo's Digi "What's Cooking" ~ Kitchen Tea card

Hullo there everyone .. a very quick post today with a card made in January for a kitchen tea. Sadly was not well enough to attend but did make it to the wedding this month.. have some cards for it too to share soon, God willing.
At the time of the Japanese Tsunami Mo had this digi for sale to raise money for the victims. I bought it and have never used it but when this occasion came it leapt into my mind as suitable. :D
YAY!! my mission to use up *NBUS *(Never Used Before Stuff) is on it's way again. Add the paper to that as it one of Bearly My Designs bought ages ago and well it worked a treat. As was not well did not layer image as would have liked but cut it out with Spellbinder fancy Ovals. Used the favourite " Spellbinder scalloped petites" for the greeting with Bible verse - "..every pot shall be holiness unto the LORD.." from Zechariah. Ribbon was bought at Abakhan in Manchester .. love it so silky.
Thanks so much for popping over for peek and chat, and may God bless your day wherever you may be.

WOYWW + Masking on a CAS card

Hullo there again everyone. Very sorry for long silence, have been unwell. I am now much better after a ten day trip to the big smoke five hours away. Saw Dr and had tests which ruled out nasties :D and treatment has helped wonderfully. I am very grateful to the LORD for His mercies in this and have been deeply encouraged by the prayers and thoughts of those in cyber-space, as well as in Oz.
First of all to the desk as it is Wednesday and we share over at Julia's place (aka the Queen of desks - click here) - just what we are up to in our part of the world!
Here I am supposedly stamping and updating my stamp catalogue. Some I missed it when I did it last year, and some have somehow arrived "chez moi" since that time.. so much for my resolution that:"I had quite enough stamps, thank you"!
And yes have used some although they were not catalogued, so it means they arrived to purpose.
Second desk is two days ago when was stamping, yup! was masking and getting inky! Mask made with Spellbinder Classic Oval.
First shot below is of laying down base colour - always find this helps with any sort of colouring for good blending have base colour, especially works well with brayering. Let base colour dry before next layer is added.

Then as colours are to my taste added the (SU Oriental set bird with Bamboo) stamp in Versafine Black ink.
Remove mask and voilà!Alas the photos does not show the lovely shimmer of the Brilliance Dew drop inks. {I would like to link these cards up with Word Art Wednesday}.
Now for the Aussie shot of the day, here is one of our brommeliad in flower, a while ago now.
I do have some cards to share that I have made and also some real beauties which have been sent to me, so hope to sahre these in next few days..
Oh and just realised I need an 85th birthday card for Friday too, so going to have to get cracking :D Thanks so much for popping over for a peek and chat and may God bless your day wherever you may be,
Shaz in Oz.x PS it is good to be back :D
