Thank you for taking time to visit, and I hope I am even a tiny bit helpful as I have been helped and blessed by so many others. I have been doing Calligraphy since teens, and card making for many years as well. In 1990 I delighted in the joys of stamping with ink and embossing after a trip to Cairns, Qld. In 2009 I discovered the brayer, 2010 the Cuttlebug, also have now taking to reading up on crafting blogs and lo! Here I am, on one of my own.

I live on the coast of eastern Australia. I am a Christian. I trusted in the LORD down here at the beach, amazingly it is not far from where I now live. It was over 50 years ago, after a Beach Mission Service at the age of 12 years

Scrappy Mo's Christmas Challenge + WOYWW

Just quickly sharing, for two reasons. Firstly  for Christmas card challenge - over at Scrappy Mo's!
It's  also Wednesday so time for WOYWW over at Julia's Stamping Ground - pop over to see stunning desks of the world. Certainly more interesting than mine.
Okay, mine is in clean up "get-some-clean-space" mode. Just finished the two Christmas cards on the left. Also see a piece of stamped watercolour card, it was a trial piece back in February. Male cards are requisite for four upcoming birthdays in next few months. Liked last four made with watercolour technique going to do repeat. Also a female card needing to be made.. not in view but done trial stamping.

Two cards done two ways.. but started as one bought card, just one scene.. which I cut in half to make two cards.
Used different EF, both CB though, and dies are both Spellbinder.
The ribbon label also SB and the verse "The Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the World" is a digi. Never seen it in a stamp.

Still not walking, shin needing a bit longer but took the bird ones when came home through unopened car window  .. blue faced honey eaters love our orange  Grevillia, Birdsong.
The sea shot was taken a few hours ago when driving down to our local fish co-op to pick up cooked crumbed whiting. Yum!

Thats me for today everyone. Had issues again with blogger. Had to write the beginning twice with links and all.
God bless your day everyone.. and thanks if you pop over especially if you say hi!
Prayer hugs

Need this well known  but much loved verse today. Underneath  are those  wonderful upholding everlasting arms.
Praise our loving Father God.
Would like also to join up with:

WOYWW + Nan's Cards ~ for her non-80th!!

Hi all! Popping in very quickly for a few links ups .. busy plus here!
(However want to say my thoughts and prayers are with all those suffering across the globe.
Reading on British Press - the floods in Bangladesh, 1/3 of the country is flooded!

Can you imagine what it's like to have a third of your country flooded?
Plus 100,000 houses destroyed!! On top of that they've floods of  Rohingya refugees fleeing from Myanmar (former Burma) and ethnic cleansing! Devastation with Irma, Mexican earthquakes, etc. Perhaps a reason for all this? See this post here.)
As it is Wednesday, I've also a desky share - or What is On Your workdesk Wednesday.. pop over to our Julia's desk for the link up, at Stamping Ground!
To my desk... probably can't share for few weeks, so thought better do so today!
Several... nay! three things on the go here! If you'd look on another table, you'd see a fourth!! (EEE-eek! she says.)
To right: Eamon's 2nd birthday on homeward run, his mother is very unwell (influenza A, very bad this year in Oz). No time for peeking so can share. Just have to touch up giraffe's adding some depth + greeting + age element.
Other items, kind of hidden are DT works, trying to get ahead. Hate always being behind. One is also for certain six year old's birthday too, top secret though, as they do peek, sometimes. Hope to catch up with both of these birthdays next week, God willing,
yay! :D Six year old will be wanting me to make "traditional pass the parcel" game too...
Now will explain the rest of the title of this post. My friend had what I thought was her 8oth birthday.. but dopey me :D made a booboo... it was her 79th! so that is why I call this Nan's non-80th birthday! I gave her half a dozen cards... published some before on here and her card is being published on 15th Sept as DT post.

A male card, made with Inkadinkado Standing Seagull INKA-99205-DD wood mounted stamp and Inspired by Stamping, Just for you set. Frame was from watercolour background, left over from another card. Didn't want to waste this bit, the image and card back stamped coloured for other cards and not used. Entering this card in the Stamp it Challenge with: Simon Says Wednesdays challenge .. stamped images ONLY no digis allowed.
This card won second prize over at Bugaboo... won seven of Jodie's wonderful images!!!

Digi image pre-printed in stash from Ginny Maxam of Maxam Made, like wise greeting. Die cut and mounted them and embossed and card with Sue Wilson pinpoint waves(?) folder. H.B. stamp is from SU discontinued set.

Simple male card, Disc. S.U. DP, Verse and images are digis I had already printed up.
Entering this card in the Stamp it Challenge with:
Simon Says Wednesdays challenge .. stamped images ONLY no digis allowed. Prayers set is available from Simon says.
Made with scrunched tissue technique see here - embossed it after scrunching, as shown on post. Dies are Memory box, both are disc. Stamp and die prayers set is by Hero Arts, on my packet. Simon Says brand on one I bought as gift, so bit confusing, slightly different sizes, too.
To the Aussie shots. On my walk yesterday was the sunset, taken rather late.. but out most of the day. The begonia below is real and so is the maiden hair fern, my sister has them growing beautifully and we had a lovely BBQ out there yesterday. Our 88 year old dad loved it!
Thanks so much every one for popping over for a peek and chat!
May God bless your day wherever you may be.

Will do my very best in commenting, and truly appreciate your visits more than words can say.

"Behold, the days come, saith the Lord God , that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the Lord :".Amos 8:11
This verse is a sign of the times for today.
Very sadly folks rather hear and heed the words of men, instead of hearing and heeding the words of the Lord, our Heavenly Father, Who loves us all.

Joining up with the following Challenges:

Make someone's day brighter with your card. Could really do all cards, but will link first and last cards as both of these are encouragement cards.

Bizzy Bec's DT Gilded Watercolour Distress Ink

Hi there friends! Another learning curve today, with my DT post for Bizzy Bec's Online craft store. I saw this tissue watercolour method over at Loll's blog (see here) with crumpled and embossed highlights. Wow, is it fun!!
Here's a wee peek.
First of all, use some ordinary tissue paper, mine was bit imperfect, second hand, from a present received who knows when. 😉
1. Select inks ( you can use most sort, but water-based blend best), I took some Distress Inks - varying sheets made as you can see.
(Current card used Dried Marigold, Abandoned Coral, Fossilized Amber, Fired Brick.)
2. Smoosh inks randomly on blending mat (mine is a lid from takeaway). As used mini DI, didn't have blocked colours. (if using large ink pads, Loll suggests mixing colours for better blending with a spatula).
3. Then spritz inks with water, layer gently the tissue paper over the inks. Once coloured lift **carefully (it IS fragile at this stage) put on paper towel, or in my case, on junk mail!! I use it a lot in crafting, the tissue dries well on it and lifts up easily.
This method is really effective economical watercolour, especially if learning the technique. The card I made used the next step, also.
4.  For this, scrunch up the dried tissue paper then with wet glue, I used tacky, glue it to some card, as attaching press to emphasize the raised areas of scrunching. Allow to dry.

5. Use on finished sheet the embossing anti static pad - used my home made one here. Cover well, then smooth (lightly and evenly) over Versamark ink pad to catch crinkle highlights. Sprinkle Stampendous Gold detail EP. Remove any Embossing powder where you dont want it with fine brush, before heat setting.
Attach to card base.
 6. Next comes Die cutting.
Used Sue Wilson Thank You Die
and  Spellbinders Dies - used is Heirloom Legacy 5" x 7" die ( I bought it from Bec so maybe ordered from Bec, upon request).
To layer Die cuts and to see how to do this easily, see this post here.
Here is completed card, assembled.. I edged the bottom deckle edge of the card with some gold embossing powder too.
Love this technique will be revisiting it!! Hope you enjoy it too.
Now don't forget to pop over  HERE at Bizzy Bec's and check out the other DT gorgeous creations, and please do join in the ANYTHING GOES July CHALLENGE - to win that prize.
Pop by Bec's store, too, for her great bargain prices

WOYWW + Birthdays - Red Eyed Green Frog...

hi there one and all,
Firstly to my desk, as it is WOYWW or What is on your Workdesk Wednesday (pop over to Julia's and please join in, do!).
And joining in with Work it Wednesday @Simon Says Stamps (new - new digi, new hessian ribbon, first time used brushos with embossing water colour card, too)!
Okay so I've tricked you... this is last week's desk.. this weeks will come .. but thought better show the piece I was working on that I hid from you first.. note the square die out from SB Marvellous squares as it s used as corners below.
Sizzix folder leaves - from the Peacock set, bought this folder loose on eBay no case.
In case you wnat to know what brushos used. It is Lime green, Yellow, Olive Green, yellow Ochre. I learnt in making this no two water colour papers are equal, the colour didnt move much on this unless you really wet it.. but dried okay. (of course I found a loose snippety sheet of paper and dont really know which one it was)
Didn't have right colour card so embossed with SU Sizzix Lattice folder (extended), and inked it up, ended using other side though.
Finished card, the photo is googled digi of a painting by Pravin Sen of the  Red Eyed frog native to Australia. Stamp, Happy birthday gold embossed, is by Lawn fawn too much to say. The image below shows corners - sorry, it wont go where I want it to, will it?
Okay here is my desk now .. (except one thing has changed, the image on left has been trimmed and edged with soft purple tones. This is a new PB stamp called "Bejeweled" a real favourite already, from Christmas gift. So this the play with it and managed three toppers out of four goes, then made the proper card for tomorrow's birthday. I will be back in day or so with the follow up post, God willing.
Now to the pickies from downunder ... taken on our icecream drive.. a surfer or two, if you look really well, taken on mobile so not really good. .. but hot and sunny downunder!

Well, I'm delighted to welcome a new wonderful encourager ..

WOYWW 400! NBUS#10 + Inking Embossing Folders.

Hi there everyone ...well, the big day for Julia, our Queen of Deskland - over at the Stamping Ground... Yessss!! What is On Your Workdesk Wednesday no 400 has arrived.
Want to add much prayer for two long time WOYWWers , Shaz Silverwolf , who having second surgery for her cancer today in U.K.,  for Shoshi, I've heard she is in hospital with intestinal issues in U.K.. {Update: a blockage, emergency surgery Thurs, pray stoma won't need to be re-sited.}
My morning desk desk shows me midstream on birthday card, still not quite finished but for family member and they occasionally look at blog so haven't revealed much. You can see the SB Marvellous Squares are in use once more as corners on an image. Brushos also in use :D And brayer still not put away from two weeks ago.
And my desk this arvo (afternoon), was inky too + NBUS here - the 6" x6" EF is a cheapie from China on Ebay, love the houndstooth pattern, smooched the top side of embossing folder with Navy Blue dye ink (Archival Cobalt). (I guess  RosA of Paperchase would call it a CCEF {Cheap China Embossing Folder}, worked out right side to emboss by trying it out, and making note on it, as they have no writing on them).

Also had to join in with dear Darnell's NBUS challenge #10, wowee!
Fun+++, you have til 5th Feb to join
! So my NBUS 1 or Not Used Before Schtuff, to quote Darnell, is the no name EF (or CCEF) on first card below.
Update on Darnell
: her surgery went well, and healing as best you can post surgery. Sending more hugs and prayers dear buddy.

Birthday stamp is Lawn Fawn "Too much to say", then inked EF, and a commercial card re-made. Actually I scanned it and printed this beautiful Fairy Penguin water colour  - Fairy Penguins are native to Australia.
Second card and second entry in this weeks NBUS challenge is this card already winging its way to Japan. The NBUS here is the SB Labels 28, second largest die, which I was gifted just before Christmas by a dear man who was going blind and gave me and others some of his crafty goodies he could not longer use. This past week I found this particular die fitted perfectly into my SB Divine Eloquence dies... howzat,eh? God is very gracious, very grateful.
A close up of verse and inking with ink dusters .. love how you can blend over what is under digis. This WAW Bible verse digi was added to free digi given by Ginny Maxam of Maxam made.
For the Aussie shots, we really are having summer, although today isn't too bad it's been quite hot Downunder, especially in places not near the coast. Took these pickies late on Saturday evening just before we went for a swim, but not with the stinging blue bottles below but at the jetty, less danger there. 😄
Looking North.
No tail left on this one, its quite  small they have long tails, and are a colony of organisms, hence many areas of sting, commonly called blue bottles
Looking south, on same beach.
Thanks so much everyone for popping over for a peek and a chat, may the LORD God bless your day wherever you maybe. I might be a tad tardy in commenting, as very busy here.. again. :D
And happy WOYWW #400 everyone!!!
