Galaxy Background Birthday With Beccy’s Digi + WOYWW

Well, yes, I’m back! 😃 I’ve been absent for some reasons, mixed, will share below. First of all as it’s Wednesday, time for another WOYWW, What is On Your Workdesk Wednesday. Over HERE 😁 at Julia's, Queen of Deskland, there's worldwide desks there is loads of fun!

My desk is quiet today but loads to share… inky fun a few weeks back! The inky background was built up in various stages of ink applications, brights first as shown, mostly Distress Ink, but if didn’t have shade wanted, just substituted. Then added deep colours in black, Chipped Sapphire blue, deep brown.

The latter just in selected areas not all over. At the end water is put into one hand then clapped over it to get a spread out sprinkle, coming from various directions, used paper towel to lift water and colour after 10 to 30 seconds. Then flicked with small short paint brush iridescent medium mixed with white reinker on mat, and also DI blueprint sketch. Pretty much followed video below. Card down below.

I’ve been crafting in weeks of absence, although not blogging on here. I’m not as well some days, need more rest plus other time demands.

Here is card above for Mister six, it was a shaker card, the real colour is the shade on left. (I’m linking this card over to Beccy’s Digi Challenge here - check it out do, she has freebie images and paper, really lovely!)

 Cards galore to share, way behind on Christmas cards. First lot of Christmas cards are using a NBUS paper bought near Llandudno with Margaret, it is white frosted and silver Christmas pack, we went halves, I’d bought an ombré pad with Marilyn in Florida on same miracle trip in 2018, and combined the two on this set of cards.

The nativity die in silver is by Impressions Obsession, MB Star die set and 1990s wood mount Joy stamp. Bottom sentiment set is Colorado Craft nativity set.

 More Christmas cards using a new to me NBUS 3D Botanical folder by Sizzix.

Technique is sanding foil card for emphasis as shared on Loll’s blog.

With Britannia dies poinsettia, lge medium die. Verse is old 1990s Joy to the world stamp PSX, heat embossed. Made multiple in two styles, haven’t photographed the other.

For the Aussie shots… a bit of garden, when I’ve been well that’s where I’ve been! Had help too, as too much for my little hands.

The first collage, has three roses that my dad planted here from cuttings in 1974! Still same bushes!! Cuttings were from a high school friends mother’s rose garden. Very special, and I’ve just been in touch with that very same friend, after more than fifty years, which is an added blessing!

The 3 dozen rose bushes this year have responded to extra TLC due to our month long lockdown (NO CASES here, in God’s mercy). Once over, I’ve been visiting lonely friends or folks in nursing homes with flowers, see two bunches ready to go in top left image - mixed bunches of sweetpeas and roses. Delivered two more today. As I chat a lot, it takes time!😂 

Also sharing a collage of seascapes, as we’ve had amazing skies on my walks, so very blessed to live where I do.

Thought for the day. 

Although no craft blog I have been posting regularly on my Christian blog!  Today’s verse and share is in second part an excerpt from my last post. 

When I was first teaching in Melbourne there was a lovely landlady, she had a favourite saying:  “ Sufficient unto the day!” 

Meaning she’d done enough for today! 

I’d really want to finish it for her, as it was a verse from the bible, which Jesus shared to encourage folks. 

It was part of the well known Sermon on the Mount which are chap 5, 6, 7 of Matthew.

Basically this verse says 

DON”T WORRY! 

Easy to say, hard to do. 🤔🙏

But let’s look at the verse. *Take no thought, ie don’t worry about tomorrow. Be prepared, but don’t worry.

Note the LORD Jesus emphasised “Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof”! 

That’s the bit I wanted to add for Mrs Graham. 

Grace is only given for today.

Today’s worries are enough.

So don’t borrow tomorrow’s as well!

Ink Resist Stamped Sympathy + Christmas + WOYWW

Well, yes, back again, like the proverbial bad penny 😁 
‘Tis Wednesday, so it’s time to pop over to deskland for WOYWW or What is On Your Workdesk Wednesday at Julia’s Stamping Ground!

My desk has a recurring theme, a little like last week, but using diecuts instead of stamp for greeting. Another card in snippets on right hopefully. 
Seem to need to put scissors away there on top left, it’s pile!

I’ve a question for all wise crafters out there.

I need a gold Embossing or texture paste. 

What’s your favourite gold stencil paste, please???

I wasn’t 100% over only gold I’ve owned which was Dreamweaver - on colour + tendency to dry out.
Hard to source here, so few ideas from folks who’ve used them would be great!
Well, just two cards today.
First partly on desk with nativity CCD from last week, inked background like last week. Used Embossalicious Regency Swirls EF with CCD die set sentiment of “Wise Men still seek Him”.

I really like this sentiment, but must confess found the layering tedious! 
Although leaving bottom words in white card base and adding each layer on top helped. Then lifted up each word as one thick layer, this made it much easier. 
Used T ruler to make sure they were straight and balanced (have fixed two errors didn't see till saw photo🤔).

Second card was in my Almost Made Up bag, it’s a SU very old stamp of silhouette daisies stamped in white EP, added ink resist and mounted ages ago.

The stamped greeting is sympathy set by Inspired to Stamp.
Now to Aussie photos. Quite few so you may skip, but so pretty very many of them! Taken by family travelling over a month ago in Western Australia, four hours flight or more from here.

We drove up to Cape Peron which is the most northern tip of Francois Peron National Park. It was a varied 4WD track. We set out in the rain, still very windy. Rain made the track sticky, and the clay pans a little slippery. As drove further north there was little rain, so the track was drier. Then it was very soft sand but so very bumpy 😳😳 The coastal views with the red sandhills, white sand on the beach, and aquamarine coloured water was simply stunning. Strong winds were not conducive to seeing any sharks, giant manta rays, dugongs or dolphins - a little disappointing. However, we had a fantastic day and this part of the coast is certainly a unique part of Australia. Springtime in W.A. is so varied!

The drive through the National Park to all the walks did not disappoint with wildflowers.. although some had finished many were in full bloom! We even managed to find a couple of Mangles Kangaroo Paw which was beautiful.

Our stay in Kalbarri was very windy for all but the last day. The coastal drive was well worth it despite the strong winds and rough seas. The rugged coastline was interesting and the Natural Bridge was the stand-out of all the stops.

It was here that and we managed to find a great specimen of the Murchison rose.... the others were all too windblown! It was too windy for any whales or dolphins but the gorge walks we found to be more spectacular than the coastline here.

Down on the waterfront there is a unique piece of public art. It’s an intriguing 1.5metre sphere named Horizon by artist Lucy Humphrey. It turns the world upside down because of the water inside and how the light reflects off it.

UPDATE - Drs visit had good and not so good results, but hopefully new meds just beginning on PBS will help. Start next week, time will tell, I pray so.

On our rain front. MUCH answered prayer over weekend. I sat up late into Sun night, watching, praying over towns, naming them one by one, on the Bureau of Meteorology map. 
Much rejoicing as the rain bands pulsed across, and numbers in green showed rainfall. 

Darryn & Michelle at Carroll had 22mm (almost an inch) praise God, and Bourke had almost 100mm. It was amazing to see water lying around in giant lake-like paddocks, and FB videos of old farmers dancing and running around jumping in it like kids! The joy of rain.. in Oz.

Praying on for spiritual and physical rain upon our land. May God have mercy as VERY much more of both is needed. Some towns out of water had none, but it was amazingly wide-spread, good falls. 

We had none too.. but we’ve more access to water here.

This is what prayer is for believers - prayer is chatting, talking to our Heavenly Father, over big and little things, just like we would our earthly dad. 
God loves us, knows us like no one else does - what concerns us, concerns Him. 
So sitting, kneeling, walking or working we can be praying..
Casting my care upon Him knowing He cares for me.
God gets it.. the length, depth, breadth of our burden.
We can trust Him with it.
If we are trusting in the dear Lord Jesus alone for salvation, then nothing is too big for Him.

Scrappy Mo’s Inky Christmas challenge + Early WOYWW

Suddenly realised a few days back its time for Scrappy Mo’s Christmas Challenge, from 25th of each month till end. And as I’ve made it each month this year, I didn’t want to miss.

Well, bit early this week for desk day or WOYWW, but do pop over to Julia’s for What is On Your Workdesk Wednesday.
To my desk a few days ago: 
I’m getting inky as wanted a background for die cut to layer up as focal point. Used DI with brushes on ultra cheap scrap of watercolour paper.

As you can see used Diamond Dust Glimmermist on top.

The card finished - is really all snippets even the base, left over from A3 sheet when made square card below. Centre white piece was left over from another card as were side silver bits and the layered  diecuts.

Die is CCD, EF is Snowfall by Taylored Expressions. Verse “For unto us a child is born” is from Nativity Itty Bitty set by Unity Stamp set, and silver embossed.

More snippets on this card in fact all but base.. this is from my “Use it or Else” bag.

The image with verse “The Lord is Good is Stronghold in day of trouble, and He knoweth them that trust in Him” was printed ages ago, as was the random digi printed paper, they matched beautifully.

Diecut in gold is Yvonne Creations called Holly Jolly Christmas, saw it year or so ago on Loz’s blog and she enabled me! Corners are Lala Land Filgree corner die.

Last card was in my "Almost-made-up-bag". Added the gold base and adhered it all. It was originally made back here - recipe here, especially tip in emboss resist with brushos. Same design,

Next photo overload Aussie shots, skip if you like - from family visiting Victoria.

First two, are at Brighton, Melbourne, roses to remind you it’s spring here.

Second is at Brighton beach with very expensive beach huts, $300,000+ . Must be resident to own one.

This is sure to set you salivating, a world renowned bakery in city of Melbourne. Was told there were busloads of Asians queuing ten deep to buy, so only looked!

These are in Dandenong range, east of Melbourne. Tallest flowering tree in world on right, Eucalyptus Regans or mountain ash. Yarra River in background, in upper reaches.

Looking south from Phillip Is, home of fairy penguins.

Very last one is a local beach taken few days ago, the black dots in breaking wave section are surfers as its a good southern break, one of dad’s favourite spots.
Am thinking and praying for all suffering with devastation of drought in Oz, still not much rain in NSW good rain in Qld so praying on, etc, prayer for fires in US too.
Mid-north coast where I live there are several townships evacuated, fire spotting ahead of fire front due to bad winds and dryness of vegetaion.
As said last week, this week is very full on with quick trip to Syd Drs, 520 km south. Will try catch up commenting at weekend, or bit after, God willing?!

These verses come directly before the Great is Thy faithfulness passage, and really are a rebuke to me to remember my great HOPE in God. Our Father in Heaven never fails in watching over His wayward sheep 🐑 it is indeed of His mercies that we are kept!

What is Your Own Workdesk Wednesday TENTH Anniversary

Hi there everyone! 
Great celebrations today! Week 520 of WOYWW!
 WOYWW 10 - What is On Your Workdesk Wednesday

In the land of Blog, there is a hop called WOYWW,

It’s our tenth anniversary which has come upon us now,

As you can see there is some inkiness going on. Revisited the Distress Ink on Gloss card technique shown back here! A really great technique, you smooch the inks in selection of colours that go together. 

HINTS - it faded somewhat, once dried. I decided to try usual colour pop technique with oxides and sprayed it with good hair spray.
YES! it popped colour beautifully. Also may set chalks with it, but cheap hair spray is tacky so don’t use it.. (wonder how I know?). 
Another tip is you can reactivate copies of inky gloss card, if not happy with random inking, a light spritz of water and redo. If don’t spritz it doesn’t work.

I’d done that with some of these.

Here’s today’s desk with ATC assembly line starting, I’ve inky limited number because my leg decided not to heal well. On Sat, found wound had opened up in two places, so I had to fix it it up, to rest and rest. I cheated on WOYWW 10.. printed it on printer upon taped on snippets of card on sheet of paper.

Printed template on copy paper then taped colours on right spot to reprint copy. Was able to heat emboss them as gloss card. Loved that!

Here is the card I’ve made with ATC hidden for PiF for Our Tenth Anniversary. I’ve joined  WOYWW on  first Wednesday in 2011. Didn’t blog when WOYWW began - in fact didn’t discover blogs till March 2010. First blog post was on palindrome date of 01.11.10... totally unplanned. 😊 The inked stamp on this card is a poppy stamp by Artneko which don’t exist any more sadly.
Our Aussie shots are take this week, but not on walk, stopped the car on way back from post office, at our creek.

This beautiful palm is a coastal favourite of mine, only palm I really like.  It’s a Pandanus and to me it means where I live - we used to call them Breadfruit Trees when we were young. They’re sadly threatened by decimation from a native leaf hopper which is killing them up on Gold Coast.

This is a lovely golden banksia I had one of these in my yard but didn’t survive, sadly yet not dissimilar spot. So pretty.

And then the sunset views. That’s all from me everyone.
