Thank you for taking time to visit, and I hope I am even a tiny bit helpful as I have been helped and blessed by so many others. I have been doing Calligraphy since teens, and card making for many years as well. In 1990 I delighted in the joys of stamping with ink and embossing after a trip to Cairns, Qld. In 2009 I discovered the brayer, 2010 the Cuttlebug, also have now taking to reading up on crafting blogs and lo! Here I am, on one of my own.

I live on the coast of eastern Australia. I am a Christian. I trusted in the LORD down here at the beach, amazingly it is not far from where I now live. It was over 50 years ago, after a Beach Mission Service at the age of 12 years

Black Ice meets Stampscapes contd, Watercolour Block Stamping + Snippets WOYWW + NBUS

Yes, it’s Wednesday again and popping in with Desky share for WOYWW - What is On Your Workdesk Wednesday, over HERE 😁 at Julia’s.

Desk shows two A4 sheets cut into four, to make up 8 card. These exceptional papers have been in my stash for at least a decade and lovingly stroked every so often, their colours and gleaming glittery extras all made them special.

They were eBay Freebies from an excellent seller back then called Flissybabes, in UK. I bought loads of mirri card, unavailable here, and in one order she put in these two glittery sheets along with three mirri cerise sheets as a bonus. I was one happy bunny. The card I’m CASE-ing is one in green white with gold, by Darnell 😊❤️🙏. Sent when I was poorly last year, it suits these images perfectly.
Here's completed card for Darnell's NBUS challenge over here!

Sharing too varied birthday  cards as there are many birthdays in February and March! Mostly male cards too.

This card all snippets so jumping over to Snippets playground here, actually so is watercolour card as well.A cereal box makes great background card.

Firstly there are four of the Black Ice technique (see here). The first is like my last card for my darling dad there. This one is for a dear Nephew. The others are for different family members. All use a Disc. SU paper, except the bottom one for my uncle. I used a scrap piece of card layered with perfect pearls, firstly did dry embossing - unused when made.

Last card was the watercolour technique with tombows on ink black see here, background scrap card from cereal box, with double length brick embossing highlighted in ink.

Then two ladies birthday, first is embossed resist with unknown mauve/ pink perhaps SU inky colours, years in stash.

So ink up embossing folder, emboss.. and ta-da colour embossed.

Next card is also a stash piece done with alfoil layers over scrap cardstock, embossed in folder, then two alcohol inks turquoise and green. MB leaves die cut with Lawn Fawn HB stamp silver embossed.

Now to Aussie photos, the tiniest pineapple ever, it fits in my hand, it wasn’t attached well to plant, so insufficient nourishment. Taken the plant out now. Usually grow like one in front of it.

Still yum, here it is in pineapple patch.
Then some seaside to cheer you up, bottom one at my sisters, and one down at our creek, that was such a beautiful day.

Had some lovely swims in between huge dumps of rain. Coast is all flooding, especially  north and south less so. Highway north still closed, sadly many lost homes at Lismore, friends included … hope Cathy at Cathy’s card place is okay, I must check. Had water in here, but through the roof.. not the ground.

So dealing with insurers, assessor’s, renovators, etc from deluge Downunder, not badly affected as some, in two rooms, but it’s certainly a to-do and time occupier. Life is never dull, but the LORD makes it all worth while.

Thanks for visiting especially, if you have time for a chat, I'll do my best to reciprocate, but mobile is bit tricky.

Prayer hugs, Shaz in Oz.x

Thought for the day:

“Without me, ye can do nothing.” John 14:5

This verse comes in the abiding in the vine chapter 15, of Johns Gospel.

And  IN Christ we are able to do all things, out of Him, we are weak indeed. Of myself I have not strength, but in Him He is my ALL in ALL.

And thus Without the LORD Jesus I can do nothing.

My Jesus fills every void in my life.

He makes it complete.

In peace, in war, in the storms of life, Jesus is our Anchor, our Strength, our Stay, our Hiding Place, our Saviour and Friend.

If we but trust in Him - Faith changes things, WHEN it’s anchored in the Lord Jesus Christ..

Without Him,  faith is empty nothing.

With Him, it’s everything.

Re prayer for Ukraine, I’m certainly praying along with many for Gods mercy upon all especially the innocents. For updates … if you’re on Telegram this is small channel, which has latest prayer needs listed, todays was to pray for orphans and those caring for them, bunkered down as best they can in Kiev. https://t.me/+NxFxDBaeF3ljY2Qy

Stampscapes With Lawn Fawn Puffin Anniversary + Male card + WOYWW

‘Tis Wednesday, everyone! so off to WOYWW or What is On Your Workdesk Wednesday, pop over here to Julia’s do.. we’d love to see You! Have some good news but will share at end. Desk 1: this morning.
Making a bright get well card, for an octogenarian having knee replacement! I made the base on this post here - was White heat embossed Hero Arts Dandelion background Stamp, Ink Resist done with Distress inks. Her fav. colour is anything really bright, thought this one worked well! Impression Obsession “Get Well Soon” die, a sample test run on middle, layering done with SU colours, have few sheets were perfect colour, plus two spools of ribbon suited too, was really blessed! Image at rear made few weeks ago is ready for next card.
Second desk working still on the Lawn Fawn Puffin anniversary card, on right are two trial runs with Stampscapes background stamps. On left assembling on actual heart base, the white dish held tiny weeny fish + hearts coloured + cut out, tad fiddly but can never justify expense of dies! Front black cardstock snippet, figuring greeting strips.
Loved this card, here’s end result. Stampscapes background. All other cards with this set had icebergs and such but puffins live on cliff tops not icebergs hence my background, researched scenery  first. Happy anniversary from Sweet ‘n Sassy Floral greeting set.
Stitched heart dies for image base, at bottom of card - triple scoring with more hearts around greeting. Loads of snippets here, so off to Snippets Playground.. wonder if it's puddle jumping there too?!
This is scrap card from iceblock packet,  embossed TH Dot Matrix EF set, used Versamark and Perfect pearls or Magicals by Lindy's Stamp Gang, Dairy Milk chocolate.😋

Male card for friend's dad birthday next month. He’s same age as my dad would’ve been. The stamp set is CCS, and was ink block background, which was bit messy. So die cut with wonky rectangle set, and coloured it with Tombow watercolour pens to cover messy bits, restamped images and spritzed with glimmer mist, finally happy!
This card is of PB poppy Gold EP stsmp, on brusho background with gloss card, painted with shimmer watercolours.
Last card is a direct case of THIS last year, love Ranger Rock Candy background added to white card for loads of crackly glimmer, what a great verse, Rest in the Lord, AND WAIT  patiently for Him Ps 37. That's the hard bit.
It’s for dear friend who’s 70, and she loves purple, shimmery and butterflies.
Now to Aussie shots, two of our beach and Sandhills, this How I remember it as kid here, love seeing it.
Pretty flowers with native grasses up along banks.
Now to good news... we have had such HUGE answers to prayer folks!
I’m sure you’ve heard but here’s summary from local point of view.
Nearly all big fires out in NSW with big rains, except down very far South Coast, and Snowies Mtns praying they will soon! The peat fire at Yamba and Port Macquarie OUT, both needed fresh water (ie rain), burning for months, much to give praise for!!
Today, in NSW only 24 fires, almost all controlled. Map shows diff number because white are other incidents, trees down, vehicle fire, etc, blue are fires. At one stage for about a month were 160 fires in just NSW.
In first week Nov there were (map above) 16 emergency fires at once in our NSW north coast!! We were surrounded by them. [16 x Emergency = too late to leave, protect yourself, family, etc. in situ. Lots of prayer that night, had car packed. Will never forget it.]
Huge fire north of Syd. Wollemi Nat park fire (over 1,000,000 hectares, from memory), was deliberately lit Nov 2019, NOW out along with ALL fires in Blue Mountains. Also in Blue Mtns Jenolan Caves house saved from fires last month, had a flood yest.

Just like drought 1911 it was saved from fire, then flooded 24th Feb 1911.
History repeats - was manager's comment!
Praise for drought + fire relief.

Many inland have had some good rain BUT also many areas missed out so praying on for them!
*****
May God bless mightily in physical rain in those places, but also spiritually in many hearts!
Still not well in myself, BUT had clean bill at skin Dr, today, Yay!
In hard times though, God teaches so much more than in smooth, easy times, that you’re grateful for them ..almost!!
Such a blessing to know and trust in our dear Almighty Father.
Thanks so much for popping over for peek and chat!
l do so very much appreciate you, haven’t quite caught up with all, hope to! 😊
Prayer hugs for God’s blessing on you all,
Shaz in Oz.x

WOYWW + Lawn Fawn With Partial Oxides Mask

Well, another Wed here in a blink. One day off shortest day of year for Downunder ... can't wait for summer! For desks of the world, pop over to Julia's, do please, at the Stamping ground.
Now to my desk!!
One can see Masks, Oxides, DI tools, cute Lawn Fawn Hedgies. Saw Kristina Werner do partial masking with cute die cuts stamping. Inked images with Black Onyx Versafine with EP and then coloured Promarkers. Fussy cut here, as no matching  die cuts.
TIPS: You can use black Versafine (a pigment ink) or blue red, green, purple and make it white gold or silver or whatever EP is. Don't need Versamark pad, really. I found this out by being too lazy to clean my stamp. 😊
TIP 2: Set Oxides with hairspray. Works a treat, removes oxide look. 👍 Love saving pennies!!!
TIP 3: With mask inking, especially one like zigzag one, use a gentle pouncing with sponge applicator - works best. After mask inked lift and add excess ink over same spot to soften the colours.
Used two masks one below Darkroom Door Mesh and Zigzag is a Huey mask.
None of the two cards are finished for photos. Attached images with "White -tac" as outside light was fading fast. Our shortest day tomorrow... YAY!
TIP 4: Had Black ink from stamp catch top of this card top. Removed it with my usual array. Being a calligrapher, I'm a collector of rubbers/ or erasers. The old Staedtler ink/ pencil combo is a good standby, Pentel Hyperaser is ultra thin and handy for tight spots, not unlike Mono, and lastly the newer Mono eraser. Ink removed.
TIP 5 : Always polish over the surface of paper/card with pencil eraser as it removes furry surface. Below is Washi Scored card. For details see post below.
Some lovely photos from Oz went for walk yesterday with someone very dear. Took this photo of our families favourite spot. Aren't those clouds amazing. God's glory shown forth! Glory indeed.. t'was real winter's day with wind as well !!
My brother in law snapped these white Corellas I think.. checking them out, I suspect.
Thank you so much for taking time to pop over and say hi.. especially if you take time to leave a comment. You do so bless my heart!!
Going to make a real effort to comment this week!!
God bless you in your day.
Prayer hugs,
Shaz in Oz. Xxx
I love this verse.. it begins with  "we have NO might... neither know we what to do, but our eyes are upon Thee!"
How precious it is.. our God is more than willing and able if we but call upon Him. I'm daily needing it at the moment. Trials draw us closer to Him. 😊
