Thank you for taking time to visit, and I hope I am even a tiny bit helpful as I have been helped and blessed by so many others. I have been doing Calligraphy since teens, and card making for many years as well. In 1990 I delighted in the joys of stamping with ink and embossing after a trip to Cairns, Qld. In 2009 I discovered the brayer, 2010 the Cuttlebug, also have now taking to reading up on crafting blogs and lo! Here I am, on one of my own.

I live on the coast of eastern Australia. I am a Christian. I trusted in the LORD down here at the beach, amazingly it is not far from where I now live. It was over 50 years ago, after a Beach Mission Service at the age of 12 years

NBUS - Brushos explored - What fun!

Hi all - over at DARNELL'S - over here - is the NBUS Challenge please join in! but be quick sticks as it ends soon on 5th Sept! I'm scurrying in, hurrying like! Curiously my NBUS or Not Used Before Schtuff is same as Darnell's on her post!
Righto - Brushos  - am total newbie at using them! Stamped resist on first effort with a Stampin' up background stamp called "On The Spot" bought second hand on eBay, never to my recollection used by moi on card before. Stamped in Vesramark, clear embossed and heat set. Sprinkled three colours (okay - cant remember know one was lime green). The sprayed with water can see gold bottom of water spray.
End result - today was Father's day in Oz, so gave it to my darling dad today. He's 87 and not in best of health, but ever so grateful he is still able to enjoy a day out with his family. The lime was with diluted brushos lime green, embossed with CB bubble EF twice. Used CB Olivia alphabet to do Happy Dads day, added twine.
Want to apologise for lack of commenting, am still not 100% and when am able to am visiting dad who's just moved to a nursing home two weeks ago. However will hopefully catch up in next few days.. but no promises will just do my best. I thank you one and all for your kind and caring comments ... bloggers truly are great!

And a big welcome to new blogging friend here, first for months :D

Hi Shaz, hope you are feeling much better and back on track to your usual self. Gorgeous card, I haven't tried brusho products before, they look like edicol colours from education supplies. I'm sure your Dad enjoyed his day out and the lovely card... have a great week... Megan

What lovely inkiness Shaz and your finished creation looks lovely.

Don't worry about the visiting, you still need to get your strength back and also spend time with your Dad, when my Dad had to be moved to a nursing home about eight years ago I visited almost daily and still miss him so much.

Isn't brushos fun? My first attempts ended up in the bin, but since I've enjoyed using them both for backgrounds and coloring images. Something I learnt thanks to videos on YouTube. So glad there are crafters out there taking time to share their knowledge.
Your card for your father is cheerful and simple yet decorative. Great job!

How fun that we both used Brushos as our NBUS! I'm glad I'm not the only one in the back of the bus on this technique! I absolutely love the beautifully designed card you made for your dear Dad in these lovely fall colors! Thank you so much for playing in my NBUS Challenge #7 and for your lovely words of support! I hope you are feeling better soon. Spend all the well time you have visiting with your Dad. He is rightly your #1 person right now! Huge hugs, Darnell

PS I happened to notice that I was not a follower! Which is weird because I thought we had been following each other since 2012! I've been having trouble following blogs since they changed the button to "Unfollow" a few weeks ago, but with the help of a couple of friends, I've come up with a work-around. The only bummer is that I don't show up as a photo in your thumbnails. I'm in the back with the no faces, but at least I'm now a follower (or a follower again)! Mwah!

I was able to link up and follow you this time. I don't know why I couldn't before. Your first attempt at Brushos came out great! I hope your dad will get settled in the nursing home and be okay. It's a big adjustment and hard to leave your home. You take care of you and I hope you are recovering. We will be here when you come to visit, take your time.
