Thank you for taking time to visit, and I hope I am even a tiny bit helpful as I have been helped and blessed by so many others. I have been doing Calligraphy since teens, and card making for many years as well. In 1990 I delighted in the joys of stamping with ink and embossing after a trip to Cairns, Qld. In 2009 I discovered the brayer, 2010 the Cuttlebug, also have now taking to reading up on crafting blogs and lo! Here I am, on one of my own.

I live on the coast of eastern Australia. I am a Christian. I trusted in the LORD down here at the beach, amazingly it is not far from where I now live. It was over 50 years ago, after a Beach Mission Service at the age of 12 years

WOYWW + Bugaboo Moving House Digi + Birthdays!

Hi everyone, days are rushing past in August, not blogged much of late! Trying to do catch - longish blog post with pickies. Wednesday here! its time for WOYWW or What is On Your workdesk Wednesday.. pop over to our chief's desk for the link up, at Julia's Stamping Ground!
To my desk:
Well, in between cards here, things hidden on left, then centre baby cards are being ready to do stamp on back. Lovely star die was bought on sale at only craft shop within coo-ee, about 30 mins north of here, when visiting the dental specialist. That was expensive enough but treated myself to this.. marked down, so makes it okay??!! :D plan is for some cards for Rudolph day on 25th.
This is a set of five magnets, from eBay in China site. See here - Have to pay a very little for postage, but he packs them so well. The metal tin + foam padding is what they came in! Thought some others might like to know too.
Work so well with Mini Misti, which I have and should work with regular one. It's hard to get such magnets here in Oz, especially in the country where I live. The photo below shows up close how it looks, and it doesn't have tape on it. Put tape for leverage. They're not quite as thick as the circle magnets which come with Mini Misti but almost the same, about 1mm difference I'd say.
This card is shown step by step on this post here. However, changed it .. from hugs to a special birthday card.. now know what was led to make it these unusual for me colours, it was perfect for my aunty whose birthday it is next week, she loves burnt orange. Numbers are CB Olivia die + this Birthday die..
This is not good photo, but sometimes that happens.  DI tissue paper backgrounds, except I stamped on this with Background stamp French script. Happy birthday Marilyn!!! tis 22nd still in USA. Used MB die Blushing Flower Branch, *CCD for bow die, Elizabeth crafts HB die, a top favourite of mine!
Card for my niece, she doesn't look at my blog, two young lads, so no time! though not mailed it yet, its fine to share it. I love the Bugaboo Digi image and have used it a few time for a new house. Used some of gorgeous background woven mat for background bought in the big smoke when there with RosA. Dies are SB for oval, and Dienamics for rectangles. LOTV New home stamp.
POWERFUL Owl - in our local Botanic Garden, there is nesting pair there but they're not sure where the nest is, this fellow was asleep as twas day time :).
Australian Bush orchid growing in rocks in Botanic garden they normally have them in orchid house but it is being rebuilt so they've put them in suitable locations in rocks, they are attached underneath so as to prevent removal.
Taken yesterday on my walk by the creek. The sun was setting .. at foreground you can see some mangrove bushes, they only just started growing in this more open part of the creek which is quite interesting. I love paperbark trees - they have amazing texture, that is it, the melaleuca in foreground
(* For all Abbreviations, etc see Glossary on sidebar.)

Thanks so much every one for popping over for a peek and chat!
May God bless your day wherever you may be.
Will do my very best in commenting, and truly appreciate your visits more than words can say.

Hi Shaz, three wonderful cards, I must say they are all wonderful but love the purple-y card with the white silhouette flowers, Kaisercraft have a few new dies and some lovely papers for Christmas, but like you I don't get to real stores often to check them out, the local magpies have been stripping our paper bark tree and taking it away for nesting... have a wonderful week... Well going shopping after a visit to the dentist sure makes going a little easier and when you can get an item on sale, well yes you have to purchase it!!
Love your cards, I still haven't had a chance to try the tissue paper.
So neat that you were able to get a pic of the owl, and I just love that sunset1!

Oh, what a joy to see what's on your desk on Wednesdays, Shaz! You are always a delight, and I love seeing the "progress" of your cards. I agree with several others above that the elongated star die looks wonderful! I just ordered a couple more of the long magnets for my MISTI. I am finding I love the one I have and need another for my Mini MISTI. I also love having washi tape on them...makes it easier to get them apart...since they "love" each other so much! Hehe! Such beautiful cards with the floral dies, and the Bugaboo digi is darling! My what a powerful owl he looks like! Good thing he was sleeping! How fascinating to see the orchids growing in the rocks. We have them hanging here in South Florida, but it sounds intriguing, and I'll share it with my DH. Looks like you had a beautiful walk by the creek. What a gorgeous sunset...seeing just a wee bit of the beauty God has shown us so far! Wishing you God's richest blessings, sweet friend! Hugs!

Hello dear Shaz! It was wonderful to see your post pop up on my feed today. Your desk is as busy as always and your cards are beautiful to behold. Of course the purple one is my favorite! It's purple, after all!!! Love your owl photo, we could use him at our lake because the squirrels are taking over and invading summer homes and trailers while they're hoarding nuts and pinecones for winter. In the past we've always had an owl or two around in the summer to help control the squirrel population, but we've not seen an owl this summer. Your orchid and creek photos are gorgeous. How I would love to take a walk with you and talk and sing about our Lord and Saviour. Someday in Heaven we will do that! Oh, I can't wait to meet you dear Sister.
Blessings always sweet friend,
Betsy

Your cards are beautiful. The burnt orange Birthday one is so pretty.
The moving house card is perfect for a young family moving in.
The purplish card is pretty and was so mice to see the difference between the reverse di look of the first card and the traditional die look of the purple one.
