Thank you for taking time to visit, and I hope I am even a tiny bit helpful as I have been helped and blessed by so many others. I have been doing Calligraphy since teens, and card making for many years as well. In 1990 I delighted in the joys of stamping with ink and embossing after a trip to Cairns, Qld. In 2009 I discovered the brayer, 2010 the Cuttlebug, also have now taking to reading up on crafting blogs and lo! Here I am, on one of my own.

I live on the coast of eastern Australia. I am a Christian. I trusted in the LORD down here at the beach, amazingly it is not far from where I now live. It was over 50 years ago, after a Beach Mission Service at the age of 12 years

Brusho Ink resist Dragonflies + WOYWW

Hi all, hopping over to join in for WOYWW or What is On Your Workdesk Wednesday. Pop over  too, at Julia's at the Stamping Ground!
To my desk!
As you'll see I'm making a Brusho mess! I save on clean up by working on junk mail it collects excess colour and water nicely. I cover up under and around desky area with it.
Then the pesky little brusho powder which strays is picked up with junk mail and put in recyling once dry! It's just more colour than original junk mail! 😊 *dragonfly stamp on left pressie from Shaz Silverwolf, on right from Ann in France.
Snippets are good. Needed one for a greeting to match chosen piece!! And so hunted in brusho snippets bag for a greeting piece!
Greeting is Elizabeth Craft design HB, frame is wonky stitched rectangle Creative set, cut and mounted as frame. Embossalicious EF. Birthday card for overseas family member.
This next set of cards are all makes from half finished stash. The Hero Arts stamp was clear heat embossed like two dragonfly but Distress inks applied instead of brushos for resist. The SB Fleur de Lis rectangle used with disc. Greeting stamp.
The next two cards were made out of one background. I reused the Elizabeth Crafts Quietfire design HB on second card. Layers on both cards were white purple and turquoise card from scraps. The one below has Embossalicious Swirls EF on it, a favourite folder.
Here you can see the layering each layer is offset by 1mm approx. to give shadow effect. I use DST when die cutting which makes this quite easy.
Last a thanks card... I love this verse yet how rarely do I use it or even apply it to my heart amd give thanks to God for all His kindness to me!
Aussie sunshine from last Sunday drive.. had a flat battery so drive for recharge! Then bought new one next day!
Found this very intersting today! Have 3+ dozen rose bushes and use companion planting to combat pests. One bed has mint (yes, its an insect repellent and aerates soil too, as constantly pulling it out - it escaped from a pot!) Other beds have lavender growing as does lemon tree. Deters stink beetles on lemon.
This rose was given in a pot, too late for me to plant here (in memory of my darling dad 😊).  It had aphids crowding all over its new buds. I'd pruned a bit of lavender so lay pieces over buds in hope the aphid covered buds might be helped.
I know this works, but was still totally shocked at the success. See sick looking few aphids! Each bud was covered a few days ago! Love the minimal effort and no spray. Thought others might like this tip!
Well, loads of jobs here, better wriggle on!!
May God bless your day everyone! Thanks so much especially if you pop over for a peek and a chat!

Our Creator God is magnificent in His creative works. It truly is awesome, in its original meaning, as we look around us. A Designer at work is clearly evident..

Eccelsiates 3: 1 -11 has a thought provoking passage, which is very well known. This begins with:
" To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: "
and am sure most are familiar with it.
This verse .." made everything beautiful in His time.."  to me is a highlight pointing to the great hope and promise of things to come ....
One day this creation, which is spoiled by sin, pain, death and sorrow, will be new again. Those rose aphids I'm sure had a good purpose in the original creation before Genesis 3 and sin ocurred! For at creation God said, behold everything is good. So everything must have been a good purpose before Gen 3.

What great ideas you shared in today’s post. Using junk mail as your working mat is brilliant and all of the hints about keeping roses healthy will come in handy for me next spring. Thank you for that. And I love the verse re God making everything beautiful in His time. I need to fix my heart on that and remember it well.
Blessings, Betsy

Beautiful cards again Shaz. I love how you die-cut lettering like that - it works so well on a plain background. I really should adopt this idea.
Great use of Brusho paints, funny that I have not used them in ages but did the other day.
I need to send you an email.
Hugs & Blessings, Neet 11 xx

Happy WOYWW. Wonderful to see photos of your crafty creations, as well as the Australian sunshine. I did have a few Pixie Powders, which are similar to Brushos, but think I may have sold them. Will have a look in my mixed media storage trolley. Great tip about lavender, which is my favourite scent. Ali x #12

Brusho is worse than glitter for spreading to the four corners of your house! Beautiful cards as always. I love the Birthday die cut.

I'm sorry to say it's a copied and pasted comment today to let you know I've visited you and read your blog. My ipad isn't playing nicely and wont let me comment on many of the blogs and I am unable to sit for long sessions at the lap top with my painful hip.

I love your cards, especially the dragonfly ones... and I always smile reading that name (in Dutch we say "Libelle" which doesn't sound as lovely as 'dragonfly') Happy woyww, enjoy your day. Big hug from Holland. Marit #20

Hi Shaz, lots of lovely things in your post today, the brusho cards and offset die cut sentiments look great. I smiled at the picture of the Aussie sun, complete opposite of the cold weather we are having. I'm not an accomplished gardener, but I will make a note of what you have said in my gardening journal, when I create/start it! Have a lovely week Heather x #13

Beautiful cards Shaz, I find white embossing powder so effective with Brushos.
After our rather warm Autumn the temperature is now beginning to plummet, hoping it doesn't go too cold too quickly as our strange weather this year has shocked many of my plants this year.
Happy woyww & have a blessed Sunday Tracey #10
