Thank you for taking time to visit, and I hope I am even a tiny bit helpful as I have been helped and blessed by so many others. I have been doing Calligraphy since teens, and card making for many years as well. In 1990 I delighted in the joys of stamping with ink and embossing after a trip to Cairns, Qld. In 2009 I discovered the brayer, 2010 the Cuttlebug, also have now taking to reading up on crafting blogs and lo! Here I am, on one of my own.

I live on the coast of eastern Australia. I am a Christian. I trusted in the LORD down here at the beach, amazingly it is not far from where I now live. It was over 50 years ago, after a Beach Mission Service at the age of 12 years

WOYWW + Serviette Rock Candy Cards!

Hi there everyone! Well, here I’m trying something I didn’t think I’d like... but I do! Also 'cos it is Wednesday, linking over to WOYWW or What is On Your Workdesk Wednesday over at Queen of Desks, Julia of the Stamping Ground! To my desk earlier!
I was given some yummy home made bickies at Christmas time, made by Marco! My friend Isabella’s dad, who is from German Switzerland. He’s an amazing baker and his biscuits are a real treat. This serviette came with them. I looked at it, wondered if it would work in the serviette technique? Left it for ages and was nearly throwing it out when thought I’d give it a go. I’d seen a you tube video on using glitter with heat and stick on serviette. Well, don’t have heat and stick, but had a go anyway. Attached the top layer with the plastic wrap iron on method. (Cardstock, plastic wrap, very top layer only of serviette, copy paper and iron on very hot iron). I had to iron out creases anyway so decided it was easiest. Then instead of heat and stick used just large piece of DS Tape. I was given this lovely TH Rock Candy by Ginny Maxam so rubbed that over the top. It is more subtle than glitter.
After the first card, which I framed with pink scallop frame, decided to die cut the serviette piece before adding the DST and rubbed in Rock Candy to lessen waste.
I loved this technique so much, you can see it really changed up the look of this serviette. (* SNIPPETS used so yay! Off to playground!)
Really love the verses on these cards they're from Sweet and Sassy. Waiting on the LORD, for He is our Strength at all times.
Have made three cards and probably make three more. They’re for female birthdays have a few of them in February and early March. Good to be organised.
I will be slow in commenting as I’m not here! This is scheduled. I’ve visitors so out and about, swimming, dining, swimming, going for walk in botanic gardens ... oh, and did I mention swimming??? 😆😂
Here are some pickies from our Botanic Gardens.
Can you see the harmless green tree snake in the garden? I'm also adding pineapple update at end.
We'll probably pick it soon a week or so.

I’m praying for folks though, Australia is really coping it north and south. Up North with massive rainfalls, a year of rain in eight days and so many far North Qld towns flooded and down south, Tasmania and Victoria are struggling with fires out of control.
Many thanks everyone for popping over especially if you say Hi, and may God bless your daywherever you may be.
Prayer hugs,
Shaz in Oz.x
PS I want to welcome some new Encouragers of this blog but don't know their names. Sorry. I really truly appreciate you.
I'd like to link over with:

Before cardmaking I collected paper napkins and used them for decoupage on boxes and wooden items. I’ve never used them for cardmaking. Fun idea. These look really beautiful. Have fun and enjoy your time with visitors.

Those are such beautiful Shaz. They say spring to me. Waiting on the Lord. I am trying to be better at waiting on Him instead of trying to do things in my own time. I’m sorry about the disasters hitting Australia. I had not even heard about them on the news. I will definitely be in prayer for the people there. Thank you for being such a faithful prayer warrior for me.
Much love and many blessings my friend, Betsy

Wonderful cards Shaz - I tried and failed with the napkin technique some while ago. I think my food wrap was the wrong sort of plastic so I reverted to self-adhesive sheet but felt like I was cheating. Yours worked perfectly! That pineapple is going to taste sooooo good!! Glad you're enjoying having visitors - and thoughts are with people affected by this strange weather. One extreme to the other.

Love and hugs

Di xx

Morning Shaz, your cards are so beautiful, as always. Amazing colours, and the bible verses are so encouraging. I find it so hard to buy similar stamps in UK, and buying from US the postage is often twice the price of the stamps.
The nature pics are lovely to enjoy too on a cold winter morning.
Bless you

Beautiful, beautiful cards Shaz - love the way you have used the serviettes to such great effect. The scripture stamps are lovely, and you have mounted them so elegantly too

Well you cracked the napkin thing good and proper! Gorgeous cards missus. Probably as lovely as the biscuits were originally, so that is a hugely successful pressie! Love the Oz shots, hope your visitors are having a wonderful time, I’m a bit green eyed at the thought of swimming on that beach. Australia is a country of extremes isn’t it, you’ve made our national news this week with the Qld floods, it looks very scared to me.

Morning Shaz. What lovely cards - I'm not sure we have serviettes as beautiful as those here in Britain - but then, maybe I simply don't look for them... Have a wonderful time away - do you reckon you may get some swimming in???!!!
Take care. God bless.

VERY pretty cards!! I have been playing with napkins lately and even made some bottles and cards with my craft club ladies. I didn't have great results with 'cling' wrap method so I didn't do that one with them - you need the iron VERY HOT and I was a bit worried!! Particularly like adding the glitter, we used microboss. Makes super glittered paper. Love the photos. Happy Wednesday, Cindy #20

Dear Di. Iron has to be good and hot for success. Took me while to figure. Bit like heat embossing. All it to heat and iron. Around all edges is important too. Missed few om this. Hugs Shax Xxxxx

Hi Shaz

What beautiful cards!! Who would have thought they were serviettes .. .. I know you can buy some really beautiful ones but who would have thought they could look so good on cards!! Might have to give this a go sometime.

Love the subtle sparkle you have added too.

Lots of fabulous photographs as always.

Have fun with your visitors. It sounds like you are all going to be having a busy and fun time!

Love Jules xx

That serviette was certainly too beautiful to 'waste' and you have made it shine on your beautiful card designs! I hear you with the weather in Australia it's a crazy place sometimes, my hubby has gone up to help out with the flood relief, it's too hard to even imagine what these families are going through.

Wow, what beautiful cards and beautiful napkins! I had to look up with a serviettes was, lol, but I see they are what we call napkins. I am assuming they are paper and that's why you could do this technique with them, which turned out amazing! I have yet to try this but so need to. These are just beautiful but you make such beautiful cards and I just love the scripture verse you used. Love your gardens and water view. Love seeing the snake, noticed him right away. Your pineapple looks so yummy too and all but ready to pick! Enjoy!! Hugs, Brenda

I love reading about your crafting (I haven't tried napkins, yet, but you inspire me.), swimming sound great (we had snow this morning and more expected this week), and of course I like the pineapple update!

Two lovely serviette cards.. I love this technique but like Di my food wrap didn't work that well on the last cards I made. I put it down to the iron not being hot enough at the time. Hugs Mrs A.
