Thank you for taking time to visit, and I hope I am even a tiny bit helpful as I have been helped and blessed by so many others. I have been doing Calligraphy since teens, and card making for many years as well. In 1990 I delighted in the joys of stamping with ink and embossing after a trip to Cairns, Qld. In 2009 I discovered the brayer, 2010 the Cuttlebug, also have now taking to reading up on crafting blogs and lo! Here I am, on one of my own.

I live on the coast of eastern Australia. I am a Christian. I trusted in the LORD down here at the beach, amazingly it is not far from where I now live. It was over 50 years ago, after a Beach Mission Service at the age of 12 years

Scrappy Mo’s Snippetty Christmas Challenge + NBUS + WOYWW

Well, yes! we ARE into Rudolph Day AGAIN, at Scrappy Mo’s from 25th to 30th SeptHere are my ultra quick upcycles!
Was (as you can see below) originally one whole card from last year’s Christmas cards, a handy topper! I just cut out two sections of a very busy card to make two more CAS cards.
This desk below was at the weekend and talking of desks it’s Desk Day, so come and please do share over WOYWW or What is On Your Workdesk Wednesday at Julia’s Stamping Ground!
Love it when you can take some snippets, a white card base and come out with this (Snippets, yay! So off to the playground)!
These are both made with Stitched Circle Dies Memory Box, scallops are CCD. Verses are two digis from a set bought years ago. As Christmas is rocking in so quickly, I’d better get my skates on, and make some more. 🤔🙏
I’ve made other cards even though I’ve not blogged sorry! I’m okay, just going slower so blogging neglected. Here is one from last week.
It was for a very special young lady. I used my bargain Grand Calibur Spellbinder die set for the first time (so off to NBUS Challenge here, yay!) bought half price for base, it’s very nice, made a square insert frame with Sweet Poppy Double Stitched rectangular die set, largest die.
The Papertrey Quartrefoil die was used on both sides.
On the inside of the window, and the clear insert is a laminated sheet with glitter and sequins, etc. captured in between when laminating the sheet (aka Jennifer McGuire, see HERE!). Don't worry didn't cut it in there, was just checking size of window..
The image is Mo Manning image called “Between”, and the inside image is reversed with a tool on my Samsung photo gallery.
The inside section needed to be plain white where the image shows.
I did partial embossing (see image above: just add shape desired in centre, I used about five cardstock layers, and emboss with suitable sandwich for your machine). Just then have dots folder embossing in centre.
Added calligraphy greeting, and flower border. Pink, especially hot pink - which this was although looks purple, it is Emily’s favourite colour.
Next are some roses - the spring flush has arrived, this was one day's pick.
And some Clivia in flower.

A beach photo for those who need their beach fix 😃.
Many thanks for popping over for peek and chat I will endeavour to return visits. However, I'm continuing a bit of a break from blogging as only way I can manage at mo. I am well for me, but just tired a lot. Love and prayers for all of you, especially in the struggles in your life. I pray with you in all of your burdens. Prayer hugs, 🙏🤗
Shaz in Oz.x
PS sorry formatting is mixed .. the new blogger changes as you go! Or not go in some cases.
Thought for the Day
I saw these and thought to share them with you as they cheered my heart.
I so need God's strength, I’d not be here by now if it were not for keeping saving power of my God and Saviour. He is there in those difficult long nights, those days when nought goes just the way you’d hoped. I may not see the Road ahead, but there is One Who walks before me on it, is with me as I go through it and is also as scripture puts it, my “rereward” too!
Isn’t that amazing?
Jesus is fore and aft, and beside me all the way. No, never ever alone!

Good morning dear Shaz. I was SO glad to see your post today as have been a bit concerned for you. We're going into fall and you're springing into spring and your lovely flowers shout that to the world while ours are fading away. The cycle of life.
Your cards are just beautiful and The birthday girl is sure to love hers.
You have been in my prayers dear sister. The world is a crazy place right now, but as your last meme said, we know WHO we belong to and He is with us each and every moment. I truly believe He will return soon and very soon.
Blessings and love,
Betsy

What a great use for a busy card!
Your flowers are gorgeous.
Fall is here, and we're trying to get stuff done that we had all summer to do!
I took the onions and carrots out of the garden today!
Hope you're well! Stay safe!

Hello my lovely little friend. So good to see you blogging because it means I know you are possibly feeling a little better. Especially nice to see that you have made a start on Christmas Cards - and two very pretty cards they are. What a lovely idea to use a commercial one to remodel into your own.
Thank you for showing us more of your lovely work and the beautiful flowers and the lovely sea scene. Think of you more than you know.
God Bless, NeeT 8 XX

I was glad to see your name on the bloggy list this morning as well! Hope you're not doing too badly dear Shaz, these things take time to get over. My hubby took a good 18months to recover from his bypass..so be kind to yourself. I love your recycled cards, in fact I was doing much the same thing yesterday as well as making a few from scratch. All using what was in the cupboard though, no new stash buying for me!

What a lovely post you have created. I'm sorry you aren't feeling the best and hope you do better soon. I have a birthday coming in November and some days I really feel my age. All the usual aches and pains but no new things so I guess I'm very lucky. I'm always happy to see your beach photos...they make me want to take off my shoes and wade in!

Hi Shaz. Was thinking of you last night and had decided to email you if you weren't here today! So... those Christmas cards are lovely - so good and inventive. Your clivias are fantastic. Mine haven't flowered for the past couple of years - boo hoo - about the first time in 80 years. They are all babies from the original parent plant which was John's parent's plant!!! My garden is now beginning to die back as we head into autumn. The weather has turned. My heating even cut in the other day! it was SO cold here.
Glad you are plodding on slowly - I reckon that's the only way at the moment. So many changes day by day.
Take care. God bless.

I'm always delighted to see you post, Shaz! Even though you have to go a little slower, you have not lost any of your talent for art, nor your love of all things God has made to brighten our days, like fresh spring roses, and the calming ocean rhythms! Thank you for sharing! Your upcycled cards are so bright and beautiful and your NBUS is a true wonder! I've not seen that JM video about laminating bits and now I will check it out. Emily Elizabeth will be over the moon with this card!! Thank you for sharing with everyone at NBUS! Keeping taking care, my friend. Slow and steady wins the race. Not that there is a race, but I like the phrase! Lots of love, Darnell

Hi Shaz,
Happy Rudolf Days.
Oh I love your wonderful upcycled designs.
Those circular images just couldn't be thrown away.
The look very lovely against the gold die cut.
A very beautiful Birthday card also and your design looks stunning.
I am also getting very slow now too so I can quite understand.
I don't blog as much as I used too as it takes me so long to get house work done as my late hubby used to help me a lot when he was able even if it was only the cooking.
Thank you for joining the Rudolf Challenge.
Lots of crafty love. Jenny L. DT

Your cards are gorgeous! I seen that video by Jennifer. Very cool, she is so talented!
Beautiful roses. Mine died this year with some kind of bug infestation. I'll get another next spring, your fall.
May God continue to heal you and give you strength. Great Scriptures!

Hi Shaz, what a clever creation, two cards from one. They both look fabulous with their white backgrounds bringing out all that hidden detail. Sweet card for the 9 year old, much loved I imagine as well. I always love a bargain no matter what the tool. You take care of yourself Shaz, one step at a time is all that is needed, we bloggers stay strong throughout it's changes.
Sending love & light your way Tracey xx

Oh, precious Shaz, it is definitely a joy to "see" you today and read your blog! Clearly you have delighted many of us, and we continue to pray for you. I totally agree that God goes before us and that we are His, and He gives us the strength for each day. Some day are not as energetic as we used to be, but God is always with us and has a perfect plan us for each and every day. I absolutely love how you've reused your Christmas cards and made two lovely CAS cards. Each one is lovely! Thanks for sharing the pictures of your flowers. They are gorgeous! And I always love seeing the beach scenes even though we have our own beach here not two miles from us. Praying God strengthens and encourages you, precious sister, and that you will continue to share with us. Hugs and much love and continued prayers! xoxo

Good to see you here Shaz - although I am a bit late getting round to checking desks this week. Your cards are lovely and make me think I must get my head round an idea for my Christmas cards too. Your roses are so lovely - brought a smile to my face - do they smell lovely too? Your Clivia reminded me that I used to have one as a house plant - I loved it but can't remember what happened to it ( I'm not always that good with house plants!) Take care and keep well. xx Jo

Hello dear Shaz. I've had a catch-up here and I'll just say you are the QUEEN of card construction. LOVE how your mind works! Both cards are brilliant and best wishes to Emily. Your roses are so flawless I thought at first they were silk ones. Thanks for the graphical food for thought as well. <3 XXO
