Thank you for taking time to visit, and I hope I am even a tiny bit helpful as I have been helped and blessed by so many others. I have been doing Calligraphy since teens, and card making for many years as well. In 1990 I delighted in the joys of stamping with ink and embossing after a trip to Cairns, Qld. In 2009 I discovered the brayer, 2010 the Cuttlebug, also have now taking to reading up on crafting blogs and lo! Here I am, on one of my own.

I live on the coast of eastern Australia. I am a Christian. I trusted in the LORD down here at the beach, amazingly it is not far from where I now live. It was over 50 years ago, after a Beach Mission Service at the age of 12 years

WOYWW + Snippetty Penny Black "You are the Bestest"!

Hullo everyone... a little late yet again, however this is desk time of the week, Wednesday  .. over at Julia's for WOYWW or What is On Your workdesk Wednesday!

Desk 1: The main desk as left it last night, was sorting out what papers was going to paper-piece part of the LOTV teddy bear with balloons stamp on the left. On right was beginning of Christmas card as realised it was after 25th which is start of Rudolph day challenge better get my skates on to post it before 31st.
Desk 2: Had saved some Christmas bonbons (see photo below) to up-cycle some of the lovely card. Have dry embossed the joined cardstocks, to go in ODB Challenge double embossing. The stamp is gold embossed, ie wet embossed hence double embossing.. when I finish the card.

Okay :D .. mm, I now know just how to get up most of the spilled embossing powder from one's craft room carpet! Take out one hand broom, your sheet of printer paper and brush!
Was really grateful, as it wasn't as bad as I thought. The carpet had been cleaned yesterday so that was a double blessing too. God is good.
Two cards made in hurry from left over bits and bobs. Both images were coloured up when made this card here - see details no. 4 Penny Black "You are the Bestest" stamp.
The background on top card (Birthday card for missionary in Fiji) was an inked embossing folder from a while ago, sprayed with diamond dust glimmer mist, but you can't see that. SB Petite ovals on the digi verse: "the Joy of the LORD is your strength" is from WAW. Purple edged punched border (Arrow punch by EK Success ) background was already made up too again a previous reject, but cut the corners (CB Vintage corners).
Fancy SB labels, with Snippets of old DP. Had already printed Bible verse digi, also from WAW; card for Sue in UK suffering from cancer. I do love these verses .. a favourite psalm.
Psalm121: 1, 2 "I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.

My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth."
Today's Aussie shot is from my sister: "This is the view from our campsite today, (near lake Eildon, Victoria) plus our cheeky visitor at lunchtime!
He kept sliding down the awning frame (whhh-heeee!!!). Apparently they will land on your shoulder. Didn't think I would ever see a king parrot up close with the speed they fly down the side of our place at home."
May God bless your day everyone and thanks so much for all your wonderfully, encouraging comments, too.
{EDIT: And a very special welcome to Marcie - who according our head, Julia is a soon to be blogger, Julia says she reads WOYWW posts but tad shy at joining ~ YET!}

Hi Shaz, my goodness you have been busy. Those little teddies are going to look gorgeous paper pieced. Your Christmas card looks stunning. Gold heat embossing always looks so stylish doesn't it. Well you were lucky to be able to retrieve your embossing powder from the floor. It would be impossible to do that in my cabin at the moment as the floor is covered in bits from dies and the backs of sticky pads that missed the bin. Have a lovely day. Barbxx

Stunning cards, Shaz. They are beautiful - just the sort of card I love to receive myself. I thought the Christmas card beautiful - the stamp with the verse is great - some embellishment on it as well as the words. Sliding down the awning pole?? Love the thought of seeing a parrot do that!
Take care, my friend. God bless.

You know Shaz, it is hard for me to imagine living somewhere where you have king parrots and budgerigars in all colours flying around. I am so excited when I see one of our brown birds with a coloured breast or top knot. Must be wonderful in Oz.
Lovely cards, and lovely photos from your sister.
Avery Christmassy blog today.

Good Morning Shaz! As usual your cards are a delight for the eyes. I'm very happy you were able to get the powder off of your carpet. I steam cleaned our bedroom/sitting room last week and it was a big job. I still have the family room to do, but I'm resting up for it.:-) Beautiful parrots. How wonderful that they fly around freely for you to enjoy. I love to watch the eagles soaring at our campground. I can't imagine parrots being free.
Blessings,
Betsy

Love your cards! So cheerful! I'm now starting on my Thanksgiving cards. I will be way behind for Christmas if I don't get myself in gear soon. Happy WOYWW!

I love your beautiful cards and it's always fun to see what's on a crafter's desk!! I think I'm in pretty good company (tee-hee!)
Thankful I have hardwood floors in my craft room and not carpet, embossing powder would not be good, no telling what I would brush up, oh dear! Thankfully you had clean carpet.
Great photos too, beautiful birds and area!
Thanks so much for your encouraging words on my blog. God bless!

You've got lots going on on your desk, think I'm going to show this to hubby so he'll see I'm not the only one having lots on my desk. He calls it messy, I call it organized creativity:)
Such sweet cards, I love seeing posts showcaseing the same image used in different ways. One surely can create many different looks using the same supplies over....

Fabulous post, love those LOTV images and I have always PP them. As yet I have not spilled any glitter on the floor but luckily enough I have a wooden floor in my craft room but when I spill it on my desk I use an old make up brush to dust it onto paper.
Love the PB cards and the sentiment.
The gold card looks as if it will be fabulous too, when finished, lol.
I live in Yorkshire so my Daughter is from Yorkshire too, just like your Grandma or Great-Grandma, can't remember which it was you said.

Your desk looks very busy Shaz!! Love gold and white together - they always look elegant. Great save with the embossing powder - thankfully I have never spilt it on carpet :-). Love your cards, they are gorgeous. Those parrots look amazing - and oh so cheeky!

Do you really have those magnificent birds just flying around free? Wow! Australia sounds like a wonderful place! Incidentally, we've just made a 3D map of Australia with my son for his school project. I hope to share it on my blog next week! Lovely cards, Shaz! Too bad about the embossing powder, but it doesn't sound like a lot of it got wasted. Thanks for visiting earlier! Have a great weekend! zsuzsa xx
