Thank you for taking time to visit, and I hope I am even a tiny bit helpful as I have been helped and blessed by so many others. I have been doing Calligraphy since teens, and card making for many years as well. In 1990 I delighted in the joys of stamping with ink and embossing after a trip to Cairns, Qld. In 2009 I discovered the brayer, 2010 the Cuttlebug, also have now taking to reading up on crafting blogs and lo! Here I am, on one of my own.

I live on the coast of eastern Australia. I am a Christian. I trusted in the LORD down here at the beach, amazingly it is not far from where I now live. It was over 50 years ago, after a Beach Mission Service at the age of 12 years

Bizzy Becs DT - Elizabeth Crafts Thinking of You

Well 'tis the 15th of the month so time for another DT post for Bizzy Becs!
Trying the use of positive and negative of a word die again. I have two of these beautiful dies by Quietfire design for Elizabeth Crafts - one is a Happy birthday and the other is Thinking of you! I love these dies, because they are calligraphic and they cut so beautifully!

First card is using the negative space
1.Adhered the black background onto a sheet of double sided tape, added the floating black pieces in middle of letters I had saved when I cut the die.
2. Added the Cosmic Shimmer gilding flakes, Egyptian gold, pressing it well into sticky backed paper.
3. Then die cut a gold Spellbinder Gold Labels Four die (not on site but available from Bec, her Spellbinders are amazing prices!).
4. Embossed the black label with the same die to get the outline to hand cut around the inside shape of the die and popped it up on the gold. Matted it on handmade black and gold Chinese paper.
Next card was made with background on some glossy card.. used Brushos.. they're amazing on gloss card. Simply sprinkle desired shades onto card stock then spray  with water bottle, I heat dried these and they dry way quicker that any other cardstock I've used, plus very vibrant. My favourite by far! Used the one at back left, which is Rose Red, Burnt Sienna, Terracotta, and a little Lime green for that blue green fleck.
Added the positive black die cut to the sheet, then die cut the Brusho gloss card with Spellbinder Pierced rectangles.
By adding it it before die cutting it became embedded in the gloss card and really looked great!
Also meant it wasn't easily going to come unstuck on glossy card, double bonus! Mounted it on black, then
added ribbon and hessian or burlap strip underneath.
I really appreciate all who call by to say hi! and also would love it if any of you have time to pop over and comment on my DT post over here at Bizzy Bec's blog!
May God richly bless your day wherever you may be!
