Thank you for taking time to visit, and I hope I am even a tiny bit helpful as I have been helped and blessed by so many others. I have been doing Calligraphy since teens, and card making for many years as well. In 1990 I delighted in the joys of stamping with ink and embossing after a trip to Cairns, Qld. In 2009 I discovered the brayer, 2010 the Cuttlebug, also have now taking to reading up on crafting blogs and lo! Here I am, on one of my own.

I live on the coast of eastern Australia. I am a Christian. I trusted in the LORD down here at the beach, amazingly it is not far from where I now live. It was over 50 years ago, after a Beach Mission Service at the age of 12 years

Use Stencil as Embossing Folder + WOYWW + Mo's Christmas Challenge

Well, I made this card for Scrappy Mo's Christmas Card challenge aka Rudolph days on 25th of this month. Finally getting around to blogging!
Yup! been very busy.
As it is Wednesday, I've also a desky share - or What is On Your workdesk Wednesday.. pop over to our Julia's desk for the link up, at Stamping Ground!  although current desk is missing - submerged! Totally.
So sharing how I embossed my stencil to get look I wanted.
My seven year old bug in action here.
Sandwich is: B plate, a shim (shim = 2 layers of cereal box card), rubber embossing mat, cardstock, (light 160gsm), *stencil taped down (first one moved, cos didn't tape down), other B plate on top. Whatever embossing sandwich you usually use should be right.
Lovely - just what I wanted. Stencil is Stars one by Memory Box. Seen it still on eBay but maybe disc.?
The regular visitors will recognise my die from last week. Wanted to make this card - the plan was to batch make, but no, not done. Which is shame as already want to remake this card, will do in time. Using Golden Glitz by Delicata to sponge over whilst stencil is still attached. Yummo!
.. thinking about layout.. had this digi verse by Karen Murray's Christmas set from Etsy in mind (does verses on WAW, too, for free). Should have turned card on side but for some reason didn't think of it at this stage. Little star from centre of this die fitted star on her verse perfectly. Layered up star, 2 white layers + gold card. Do love dimension! Finished card is below with close up, too!

To the Aussie shots! our garden at the moment is a picture spring is really coming, but oh! we need some rain. Had 1.5mm this month, 10.5mm last month, July. You can see the grass is looking dry. Don't water it, but do water plants - the roses are bursting out the back yard! This is the orange Birdsong Grevillea, which birds do love, and white leptospernum, or tea tree common name.
Birdsong was almost decimated in a wild storm last June, 2016, thought it might die, so prayer was made ... It has bountifully sprung back to life... a picture of God's regeneration work after pruning and regrowth appears a lot in spring. Good and needful also in our lives but hard. These storms do draw us closer to Him though, so make it worth in the long run!

Thanks so much every one for popping over for a peek and chat!
May God bless your day wherever you may be.
Will do my very best in commenting, and truly appreciate your visits more than words can say. (as it is now nearly 10pm here wont get it done tonight - tomorrow is more appointments, including dentist, and craft shop - meybbe! :D)

Hi Shaz your card is fabulous, I went onto ebay and bought the stencil you used (Memory Box, Starry Night) there is at least 1 left.....lol.
Your Grevillea's are looking very happy.
We could certainly do with some rain we haven't had any for many months, no rainfall to speak of since cyclone Debbie :( our tank is half full unfortunately we are not on town water here.
Although I must admit I have enjoyed the lovely warm Winter :)
Enjoy your week.
hugs

Hi Shaz. Thanks for the visit and for praying for Chris. Much appreciated. Your card is really lovely - so gentle in colour. Aussie pictures are great. That tree/shrub has certainly regrown well.
Take care. God bless.

Hi Shaz
Your card is wonderful/ That was a brilliant idea to use the stencil as an embossing folder...and even better to use the gold to get that beautiful glitz for the stars (while you still had the folder taped in place!

A perfect North Star and verse.

Thanks for taking part in the August Rudolph Days Challenge.

Good Morning dear Shaz! It's wonderful to see what you are busy doing at your desk. The card is lovely. I certainly wish I were talented in cardmaking as it would be wonderful to send homemade Christmas greetings to family and friend.
Your Aussie shot is so pretty. God does amazing work with His hands doesn't he? How lovely that the bush sprang back to it's glory. I hope your day is a lovely one, rejoicing in His love.
Blessings,
Betsy

Love your card Shaz. I haven't tried embossing with a stencil but it seems to have worked well for you. I have that word art too and I was looking at it today, but it didn't quite fit my card at the time. You have inspired me to have another think.
We had an amazing storm last night and have had twenty four hours of heavy rain. That is very unusual for Spain in August. Everything will will be ten foot high in a week or two!! Kate x

Oh Shaz your card is exquisite - love the fabulous background and the beautiful presentation of the verse.
Your flowers are stunning - I was in Oz for 11 days (got home Wednesday) and I saw how dry it is already - especially on the Gold Coast, and then in Canberra.
Great to be back

Love your star card, Shaz and it's great to see your cuttlebug in action. I have tried many die cutting machines but always love me bug best.
It must be so lovely to be heading into Spring. We still have roses out and hopefully if the autumn is mild they may bloom right through. I've had them in flower in November before.
Have a good week

Gorgeous card and great technique, my stencils, mainly brass, have been idle far too long. I must say hello to them again soon! Thank you for such beautiful inspiration. I adore your orange Birdsong Grevillea, the analogy you gave to so true as well. Sometimes we need that regeneration in our lives and it costs, but the result is better than before! It also shows that we shouldn't give up, God NEVER gives up on us and He always remains faithful to us even when we are faithless.
Thanks for sharing your creations and thoughts. I know that you have had an awful lot going on recently, so your post is appreciated even more so. God bless you dear Shaz xx
