Thank you for taking time to visit, and I hope I am even a tiny bit helpful as I have been helped and blessed by so many others. I have been doing Calligraphy since teens, and card making for many years as well. In 1990 I delighted in the joys of stamping with ink and embossing after a trip to Cairns, Qld. In 2009 I discovered the brayer, 2010 the Cuttlebug, also have now taking to reading up on crafting blogs and lo! Here I am, on one of my own.

I live on the coast of eastern Australia. I am a Christian. I trusted in the LORD down here at the beach, amazingly it is not far from where I now live. It was over 50 years ago, after a Beach Mission Service at the age of 12 years

WOYWW + Nan's Cards ~ for her non-80th!!

Hi all! Popping in very quickly for a few links ups .. busy plus here!
(However want to say my thoughts and prayers are with all those suffering across the globe.
Reading on British Press - the floods in Bangladesh, 1/3 of the country is flooded!

Can you imagine what it's like to have a third of your country flooded?
Plus 100,000 houses destroyed!! On top of that they've floods of  Rohingya refugees fleeing from Myanmar (former Burma) and ethnic cleansing! Devastation with Irma, Mexican earthquakes, etc. Perhaps a reason for all this? See this post here.)
As it is Wednesday, I've also a desky share - or What is On Your workdesk Wednesday.. pop over to our Julia's desk for the link up, at Stamping Ground!
To my desk... probably can't share for few weeks, so thought better do so today!
Several... nay! three things on the go here! If you'd look on another table, you'd see a fourth!! (EEE-eek! she says.)
To right: Eamon's 2nd birthday on homeward run, his mother is very unwell (influenza A, very bad this year in Oz). No time for peeking so can share. Just have to touch up giraffe's adding some depth + greeting + age element.
Other items, kind of hidden are DT works, trying to get ahead. Hate always being behind. One is also for certain six year old's birthday too, top secret though, as they do peek, sometimes. Hope to catch up with both of these birthdays next week, God willing,
yay! :D Six year old will be wanting me to make "traditional pass the parcel" game too...
Now will explain the rest of the title of this post. My friend had what I thought was her 8oth birthday.. but dopey me :D made a booboo... it was her 79th! so that is why I call this Nan's non-80th birthday! I gave her half a dozen cards... published some before on here and her card is being published on 15th Sept as DT post.

A male card, made with Inkadinkado Standing Seagull INKA-99205-DD wood mounted stamp and Inspired by Stamping, Just for you set. Frame was from watercolour background, left over from another card. Didn't want to waste this bit, the image and card back stamped coloured for other cards and not used. Entering this card in the Stamp it Challenge with: Simon Says Wednesdays challenge .. stamped images ONLY no digis allowed.
This card won second prize over at Bugaboo... won seven of Jodie's wonderful images!!!

Digi image pre-printed in stash from Ginny Maxam of Maxam Made, like wise greeting. Die cut and mounted them and embossed and card with Sue Wilson pinpoint waves(?) folder. H.B. stamp is from SU discontinued set.

Simple male card, Disc. S.U. DP, Verse and images are digis I had already printed up.
Entering this card in the Stamp it Challenge with:
Simon Says Wednesdays challenge .. stamped images ONLY no digis allowed. Prayers set is available from Simon says.
Made with scrunched tissue technique see here - embossed it after scrunching, as shown on post. Dies are Memory box, both are disc. Stamp and die prayers set is by Hero Arts, on my packet. Simon Says brand on one I bought as gift, so bit confusing, slightly different sizes, too.
To the Aussie shots. On my walk yesterday was the sunset, taken rather late.. but out most of the day. The begonia below is real and so is the maiden hair fern, my sister has them growing beautifully and we had a lovely BBQ out there yesterday. Our 88 year old dad loved it!
Thanks so much every one for popping over for a peek and chat!
May God bless your day wherever you may be.

Will do my very best in commenting, and truly appreciate your visits more than words can say.

"Behold, the days come, saith the Lord God , that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the Lord :".Amos 8:11
This verse is a sign of the times for today.
Very sadly folks rather hear and heed the words of men, instead of hearing and heeding the words of the Lord, our Heavenly Father, Who loves us all.

Make someone's day brighter with your card. Could really do all cards, but will link first and last cards as both of these are encouragement cards.

Your cards always bring a smile to my face. I can do you one better on the 80th birthday. When I was a child, my mother was told that my grandmother's neighbor had passed on. She dutifully sent a sympathy card to her daughter, only to receive a very nice letter back saying that you for the card but that her mother was very much alive and well! Now THAT was embarrassing. I still remember how bad my Mother felt. :-)
So many terrible tragedies in the world right now, but your posts always brings a smile to my face and comfort to my heart.
Blessings,
Betsy

Hi Shaz, some very beautiful cards here, gorgeous images & colours. I do love that acetate technique, haven't done that for ages. But I've told myself no more techniques till I've made up all the ones I have already! Have a lovely week, Hugs, Shaz #6 XxX

Hi Shaz, love those cards; I'm sure Eamonn will adore his giraffes and that penguin is so cute. I made it here eventually via the acetate technique; thanks for sharing it's a great idea that I had forgotten about. Glossy accents work really well for attaching the crumpled tissue paper too. Happy WOYWW Sarah #26

I'm so bad at remembering people's ages that I now write down their right number next to their birthday entry in the calendar - it's the only way of success, lol! Lovely shots of the flowers and scenery. I was reading only this morning about the terrible flu in Australia, they're predicting something similar in the UK. I hope it doesn't happen!

Hi again Shaz! Yes indeed. God is doing His utmost to gain our attention, to turn people's hearts to Him. How easy to look at the state of the world and become disheartened - but to keep our eyes on Jesus brings HOPE.
Love those cards - they are great. Trust all will go well with your busy time ahead. Thanks for your visit and kind words.
Take care girl. God bless.

It is so amazing all the natural disaster that have happened here recently, no I can't imagine that much land covered with water.
Such great digi images, like the papers you used with them and pretty embossed framing them.
