Thank you for taking time to visit, and I hope I am even a tiny bit helpful as I have been helped and blessed by so many others. I have been doing Calligraphy since teens, and card making for many years as well. In 1990 I delighted in the joys of stamping with ink and embossing after a trip to Cairns, Qld. In 2009 I discovered the brayer, 2010 the Cuttlebug, also have now taking to reading up on crafting blogs and lo! Here I am, on one of my own.

I live on the coast of eastern Australia. I am a Christian. I trusted in the LORD down here at the beach, amazingly it is not far from where I now live. It was over 50 years ago, after a Beach Mission Service at the age of 12 years

One Layer Stamped Christmas card + WOYWW

Hi all, Just quickly popping in for WOYWW for Workdesk Wednesday over at Julia's place!
My desk, post is nice and short as Julia likes it:
Am getting inky here as you can see, it is a mask made with SB largest decoration bauble die, and inking up inside, first with Cloud White chalk ink then added golden glitz to edges and DI inks on centre, in Chipped Sapphire, Dusty Concord, and where star is after inking added Seeded Mustard. Stamp set is unmounted set by Unity Stamp by Itty Bitty, called A child is born 1B-126 about five years ago and particularly like this nativity set, inked in Versmark and Gold embossed with Stampendous fine detail gold EP.
You can see a very CAS card as over at Stamping Sensations they were calling for one layer cards and this idea popped into my head last night, it took me an hour to make. However it would've been less if hadn't botched the corners.
Had to cover the just inside corners with gold paper to hide that they didn't match through. Should've used corner die not punch, as card is too thick.
The verse is from Isaiah 9:16, and on stamp background of main image it ties in Prince of peace which I really like too. Love cards to reflect real reason of Christmas. This verse from Isaiah is on inside of all my cards this year.
For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given:
and the government shall be upon His shoulder:
and His name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor,
The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
Now to Aussie shot taken yesterday on our icecream drive, and yes, another perfect day in photo perfect place. Very blessed indeed.
Thanks so much every one for popping over for a peek and chat!
May God bless your day wherever you may be.

PS have some alcohol ink and die cuts cards below this

Hi, Shaz - we must have been linking at the same time as I was first when I started, ha ha! Love that card, but I couldn't take an hour a card with the number I have left to get done!! it is very stylish though. Thanks for sharing the Aussie shot of the week! Helen #2

Happy WOYWW and congrats on the No.1 spot. I will get some dies out and try that inking technique. Looks amazing with the gold embossing. I need some of your sunshine. It seems to be dark most of the time here at the moment (and we aren't that far north compared to many!). Really looking forward to getting to Spain in 2 weeks time. Ali x #7

Another delightfully traditional Christmas creation Shaz, the blues and silver within the bauble look really pretty and yes I know the carol, 'For unto us a son is born, unto us a Son is given.............. the Everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace'.

Many thanks for joining us again at Allsorts and Stamping Sensations challenges.

What a beautiful card Shaz - love the way you keep Jesus at the centre of Christmas - something I do for all my personal cards, but I have had some commissions that I have had to do without :-(

Lovely to see you, and see that you’re still enjoying a daily view....stunning as usual. Hope you’re doing well. Lovely idea on your desk, that stencilling through a die cut works beautifully. And although you call it a CAS card, my word, there’s still a lot of work in it!

Wow, that card is gorgeous - it doesn't look like a CAS to me! Beautiful daily view again, we're so lucky to live by the sea eh?

What a beautiful card! And reflecting what Christmas is all about. As always envious of your beach pic, I only live about 30 mins from the sea, but not sure my photos would look as stunning as yours! I'll make the effort to go there before Christmas and share one for you haha Karen #21

Very pretty card, I wouldn’t have known anything was botched if you didn’t say. However, it is good to say sometimes so beginners don’t feel the need to be perfectionist. Have a good day!

Hi Shaz, what a lovely card. I too like the nativity scene. It's one of my favourite Christmas cards, as it's what Christmas is all about, the birth of Christ. My visits round workdesks are encouraging me to try new things, which I love. Have a lovely week, Heather #30
