Thank you for taking time to visit, and I hope I am even a tiny bit helpful as I have been helped and blessed by so many others. I have been doing Calligraphy since teens, and card making for many years as well. In 1990 I delighted in the joys of stamping with ink and embossing after a trip to Cairns, Qld. In 2009 I discovered the brayer, 2010 the Cuttlebug, also have now taking to reading up on crafting blogs and lo! Here I am, on one of my own.

I live on the coast of eastern Australia. I am a Christian. I trusted in the LORD down here at the beach, amazingly it is not far from where I now live. It was over 50 years ago, after a Beach Mission Service at the age of 12 years

Galaxy with Alcohol ink on Foiled card - WOYWW

WARNING! photo overload ahead! 😊

Well, just over 2 mth since last post - I think this a record silence from blogging for me! I am creating but blogging time is scarce, nevertheless a glimpse of many cards made and techniques explored.

Desky share for WOYWW - What is On Your Workdesk Wednesday, over HERE 😁 at Julia's … today is full of 2 months of inky fun. This desk is continuing the previous post's techniques with Alcohol Inks and Foiled card.

A foiled cardstock with galaxy sky look, made by embossing silver foiled card (CB Clockworks folder disc.) then layering alcohol twice, ie first layer not enough depth so repeated double layers of alcohol ink. It was a great learning curve. Key addition was metal mixative of copper, as it layered over it a coppery effect in light, photos don't capture really it.
The images  are Beccy's Place, Nuts & Bolts Bot set disc. Coloured around edge with black fineliner to easier cutting, used greetings on set. Colours closest to first and last photos. I used a fine liner black to thicken edge of image to make cutting out easy, see below.
Next  are AI on embossed foil - ladies birthday cards shown on desk in post below - different colours, but similar, PB die on right (disc.) and MB die on left added, EF Sizzix 3D, recipe below post.
TIP - ordinary alcohol laid down first, added colour and move colour about by tilting, add more colour or alcohol carefully not too much of it, as is needed.
I like to cover it all, most of time, but sometimes looks good with space..

A Sympathy card using MB Poppy die, the Numbers Stampendous verse I love, with gorgeous snippet of Washi for DP again!

Iris’ 90th is made with Spellbinders Iris die - this was a labour of love.
It had stringent overseas mail size restrictions, couldn't be fully 3D, very difficult. The colour more purple than plum, but unable to capture that, again!

Two male birthdays of Black ice - see here(see last post for link or just search it will come up). These are done with Stampscapes, involve multiple stampings, very tricky to be honest. I redid some by cleaning off with alcohol spray a few time just wipe and start again! July one still on way to Norway, other Aussie for June.
This was a totally new technique seen on this video by Marianne Emmerson - here an embossing powder pounce technique!
A learning curve - hard to photograph but much fun. A 60th, but photographed before added 60, die cut birthday greeting is embossed in copper EP used on card, dragonfly a NBUS, forgotten name sorry..
(Might have bought some more embossing powders to try some ladies cards😉
Below are powders used, not new but some quite old.

TIPS: the addition of the Stampendous Shaved Ice was brilliant, made it iridescent, esp on green EP.
Keep moving the gun around in pouncing -> fine doing it on heat proof surface, used "Glad Bake" paper, for Aussies.

Last card is most recent, for a nephew, wanted change from Black Ice so finally used this Snoopy's Convertible stamp by Stampabilities.

Used a new Mask too, my bargain spider web one marked to $2. DP is surprisingly same set as the black ice cards, & by SU five years ago. Real colour is closest to bottom image, very sunny washed out top image.

Now  am working on a small Calligraphy for present... then August birthdays - and somewhere some Christmas cards, as waaaaa-y behind there!

Next are the Aussie pickies - for those of you sweltering, we've an unusually cold winter Downunder! This Nandina out the front under the house eaves is our weather barometer for how cold it gets. More autumnal colour the more cold it’s been - lots more this year!

As near sea, frosts are rare but still very cold! Hat on with fingerless gloves at night… inside 😂😂😂

A Brommeliad by front door, love the flowers on this one.

Chrysanthemums, yellow are always late.. end of May, after our Mothers day in early May. Loved this year's rain then dry.

Sunsets are always a beautiful end to a sunny winter's day..

Last is obligatory seascape - know they're loved! I love it too, so did mum and dad.. this is such a "dad painting"!

How am I? simple answer is up and down - often not great with some good patches.
That is in part why I'm not blogging much, but also since Covid I am more in prayer, and visit folk more often, as more need it - when able!
Australia has been very strict in mandates, etc (in my opinion, too much). I don't consider us a democracy, but now more of a bureaucracy, run by “health” bureaucrats. It makes me sad, so pray more. Not as bad here tho’, as in Vic, Qld and WA.

Thanks so much for popping over - I really appreciate it so much! I will visit as many as I can, but iPad now blocks all bloggers except those with pop up windows comment boxes.

(EDIT: Sad, more than half of WOYWWers, I cannot comment on. iPad will not comment - a few are non blogger website. Mostly are bloggers with embedded comment boxes, which crazily is bloggers “default setting”! I apologise, really, I read post. I’ve actually written to blogger ages ago about it, no reply .. like my comment attempts.

I EXPLAIN HOW TO CHANGE EMBEDDED comment box - on the top of this blog post here, would be so very grateful if fixed, I’m not only one struggling.)

May God bless you and all whom you love, Shaz in Oz.x

PS the crafty WOYWW crop in Nov sounds wonderful.. happy memories of Llandudno in Sept., 2018, so blessed to share with you all. Enjoy! Might see if can zoom now have it on iPad. 😆😂ðŸĪŠðŸ˜❤️

Thought for the Day

This is not a verse - but it is so apt, and in many verses!

It is easy to forget there in One Who is watching over us and only ever a prayer away! if God seems a long way off - He hasn't moved - I have!

If we come simply as a little child, our Heavenly Father hears the softest cry!

Happy 100th Birthday, Beatrice! + WOYWW

Hullo, hullo! It’s Wednesday... again! As it’s a fortnight since I blogged I’ve really no right to be surprised, but I am! ðŸ˜‰ðŸ˜ƒ And yes, for those in the know Wednesday time for desks of the world at WOYWW - What is On Your Workdesk Wednesday So head over to Julia’s - peek, learn and share - do! Today two desks for the price of one.

Here I’m trying to finish a card for my Aunty, this card has been in the making since Friday, one stage at a time, very indecisive, not my colours so seem to have lost natural flow.

Second desk was last week, when trying to decide on papers, colours and actual images for a 100th birthday for my friend’s mother, Beatrice! Many happy returns of the day, Beatrice!

Her favourite flower is sweetpeas, so I printed out a number of sweetpea images. Hence used them on my aunt’s card, but actually chose the red for my Aunt, as she wore a patterned outfit with a lot of red in it last time I saw her. Anyway, decided mauve with touch of pink, glittery silver was the obvious choice for Beatrice's 100th, added glitter layer (Tim Holtz Rock candy glitter) over the image.
This first image on desk inside under lights captures it the glittery effect the best!
So here is the finished card. Use SB die set Divine Eloquence, used largest die cut and the greeting from it and the 2nd largest Labels 28 happens to fit into the centre perfectly, so this how I cut the sweetpea image out. I was given that set, years ago now, very useful. So blessed..

Now to the Aussie views... for photography, Autumn on north coast has the most amazing skies, colours and clarity of light.

I often just stand still, simply amazed in my walk, at the surprise of such beauty.

How blessed am I? Thank You, Lord!

The last photo .. that scene took my breath away as I came upon it, and it was a real dad painting the whole setting of it, he would’ve loved it.

Every blessing of the LORD everyone where ever you maybe and thanks so VERY much for popping over for peek and chat..
Mm, am way behind these days so will endeavour to call back eventually, God enabling me!
Prayer hugs, ðŸ™ðŸĪ— Shaz in Oz.x

Thought for the day:
This verse from Hebrews 12:2 is my life verse, I’m sure I’ve shared it before but I will never weary of it. When things are hard, tough and very difficult to bear this verse ALWAYS and in ALL WAYS picks me up.

Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. Hebrews 12:2

A dear brother in the Lord now in heaven used to say:
Keep looking UP, it’s only mud underneath!
How true is that?
And the One we must look up to, is the LORD Jesus Christ.
He has run the toughest race ever! Bearing His cross, He climbed the hill to Calvary - whipped, mocked and jeered, spat upon, and hanging on that cross He bore  the sins of the whole world.
So He gets it!
He understands like none other how utterly different, difficult and tricky life is for us all, at times.
It always humbles me to read that “for the JOY that was set before Him, He endured the cross”!
He died for me, my sin and now I have a place in heaven waiting for me, because I asked Him to be my Saviour from sin,  down near this beach when I was twelve years old. JOY indeed!
You too can know the JOY of sins forgiven and home in heaven by faith it Him, today, read more here.

New Blogger Coming, Altenew Enchanted Iris, NBUS, Rudolph Day + WOYWW

Well, a multi faceted post!  ðŸ˜ yes! WOYWW or What is On Your Workdesk Wednesday over at our lovely Queen of Desks, Julia, Rudolph day again.. tell me how does that happen? And some NBUS!
(Blogger question at end of post).
Now to my desk!
Two cards and a whole lot of sorting needing doing!
First on right is Christmas card for Rudolph day, on left card is for my friend Iris' 88th birthday, it's already winging it's way to Lincolnshire!
Thanks so much for sending the stamped diecuts, dear kind Darnell! I do love that set. Perfect for dear Iris!
Desk 2: Here I’m painting the images, sheet underneath is back of used envelope. Found these paints work well as watercolour as well as thicker style of gouache-style painting on card two weeks ago. I did add some Tombows watercolour pens to image, too.

Finished card for Iris.
Sheen on image is from embossing Darnell did with Platinum Wow EP, I think.
TIP: After painting images with Gansai Tambi watercolour I reheat set Embossing Powder to make it pop.
Think it's up there with a favourite card!! Several NBUS here so popping over to join in there. The lattice is one, a SB die sent me by Marilyn, kind friend, thank you! The lattice aperture DP piece was cut from was a drooloworthy pad. I thought I’d stroked it long enough, so broke into it, and irises are NBUS to me! Also used Stitched rectangle die for frame, a layered peel off Happy Birthday, dry embossed parchment card with A4 EF in stitched daisy pattern from Crafts Too. Have a few more iris in Black stamping to make one or two cards more too.
Second card was ultra quick card for Rudolph day over at Scrappy Mo’s Christmas card challenge. It is a DL size card, a topper made from an old Christmas card, gold layer up, gold thread three times around with bow,  and some bling. Love the names of Lord Jesus, Immanuel which means God with us, and really wonderful background.
Now to Aussie pickies, first is fading sunlight on a walk the other day, this is the creek a bit further along from usual ones. Then surfs up on local beaches.
First one is by Greg in Oz.
Then the next two are by Robbie in Oz, on an SLR. That’s all for me today, sending love and prayers for everyone everywhere who is hurting.

Comfort, help and a refuge at such a time is found freely in the LORD to all who seek Him.
Thanks for popping over for a peek and a chat, may God bless you wherever maybe,
prayer hugs, 🙏ðŸŧðŸĪ—

Blogger update:
And the question bloggers might  be wondering- what is this new blogger coming? Well, you've possibly noticed the  pesky little orange tab on lower left of your blogger dashboard saying:
'Try the New Blogger!'
*****
This  is an Article on it by Blogger here!
I suggest you read it. Last update to Blogger was in 2012, I do recall it, but only know date by search. So if blogger is going to keep going, they do need to update it.
At least Google isn't pensioning it off!
From a cursory research I did on it there were some issues by some folks, noted in mid May. It's with things I don't use, but one issue was with image insertion last month.
I usually wait before adding updates till they iron out glitches. I dont rush in.
****The update will just happen on your blog, at different times in different locations in June.
You may change back to old blogger, till end of July.
I don't think I would.
It will become outdated and not be assisted if you get issues. You may lose some information further down the track if dont accept update.
I'd also recommend if you can, backing up current blog on Theme tab of Dashboard page, in that page there is a BACK UP/ RESTORE tab. Perhaps do that before June, just in case of issues, but would need to go on computer, as backup file probably too big for mobile device. Pray all goes well with it for us all.
Another blogger tip
If writing your posts and having issues, try it on Chrome Web browser.
Google owns Chrome and Blogger, their software are compatible. Apple definitely is not.
I'm also writing this blog post on Android Samsung phone. Android is also owned by Google. Rarely have issues as all software are compatible on apps.

Our Daily Bread Rose Hugs & Prayers + WOYWW

Well, everyone, it’s desky share time over at Julia’s Stamping Ground. My desk shows a special card in the making!
On the left hand side are two cards on the make, just need a greeting. At centre back and right is evidence of stamping and die cutting last night, in readiness for today. Hugs and prayers set is Hero Arts, and Wild Rose stamp is by Our Daily bread (disc). Blue die at front is lovely frame by Marianne. Usual scissors, WOYWW sign, glues, with monkeys etc which are always there.
Next desk is later today when card has made some progress, added the SB die cut (Magpie might recognise the SB Exquisite Lavells 11 set, I won it on her blog candy ❤), the Marianne layered frame with hugs and prayers.
I’m finding things are busier than pre COVID19. Way behind on commenting again, will try do better this week. Just finished three days of mailing out of things normally hand out at church, adding snail mail in each one to cheer folks up.
Takes extra time, but 'tis worth it, isn’t it?
Finished card - finally happy, took a bit of fiddling!
Now to Aussie shots - this time of year in Autumn we have the most amazing skies. Stars like you wouldn’t believe and clouds?!
Well, just look at these! all taken on the same day at different locations of our creek on Sunday arvo.
There is a verse God wrote about our skies..
I reckon anyway! 😊
Psalm 19:1
The heavens declare the glory of God;
and the firmament sheweth his handywork.
Now these magnificent Cosmos flowers are such a stunning colour against this white brick wall, I walk past them most days on my walks but thought would share them with you today!
Don’t they make you smile!?
That’s it for this week.
Aust is very blessed re COVID-19, our rates are identical on Worldometer to NZ, both are 3 deaths per million, USA 126 deaths per million, UK 255 deaths per million. France 310, Italy 399, Spain 455, Andorra 479, Russia 518 per million are among the worst. I think this is clearest way of comparing.
See Worldometer link here, if you want to check your country out. Suspect we can safely say China’s stats aren’t accurate, as their rate is 3 per million. Mind you they have 1.4 billion pop. AND they did shut down areas extremely harshly..?
*****
Well, thanks for popping over and most of all if you stop to say hi, you’re all prayed for, and greatly appreciated too!
May God richly bless you an all who you love,
Prayer hugs, 🙏ðŸŧðŸĪ—

Thought for the day
Well, I thought these two went together.
A simple summary could be God IS in control,
rest in Him.
He may not lift us out of the trial, but He will bring us safely through it, when we put our trust in Him!

One Layer Stamped Christmas card + WOYWW

Hi all, Just quickly popping in for WOYWW for Workdesk Wednesday over at Julia's place!
My desk, post is nice and short as Julia likes it:
Am getting inky here as you can see, it is a mask made with SB largest decoration bauble die, and inking up inside, first with Cloud White chalk ink then added golden glitz to edges and DI inks on centre, in Chipped Sapphire, Dusty Concord, and where star is after inking added Seeded Mustard. Stamp set is unmounted set by Unity Stamp by Itty Bitty, called A child is born 1B-126 about five years ago and particularly like this nativity set, inked in Versmark and Gold embossed with Stampendous fine detail gold EP.
You can see a very CAS card as over at Stamping Sensations they were calling for one layer cards and this idea popped into my head last night, it took me an hour to make. However it would've been less if hadn't botched the corners.
Had to cover the just inside corners with gold paper to hide that they didn't match through. Should've used corner die not punch, as card is too thick.
The verse is from Isaiah 9:16, and on stamp background of main image it ties in Prince of peace which I really like too. Love cards to reflect real reason of Christmas. This verse from Isaiah is on inside of all my cards this year.
For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given:
and the government shall be upon His shoulder:
and His name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor,
The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
Now to Aussie shot taken yesterday on our icecream drive, and yes, another perfect day in photo perfect place. Very blessed indeed.
Thanks so much every one for popping over for a peek and chat!
May God bless your day wherever you may be.
