Thank you for taking time to visit, and I hope I am even a tiny bit helpful as I have been helped and blessed by so many others. I have been doing Calligraphy since teens, and card making for many years as well. In 1990 I delighted in the joys of stamping with ink and embossing after a trip to Cairns, Qld. In 2009 I discovered the brayer, 2010 the Cuttlebug, also have now taking to reading up on crafting blogs and lo! Here I am, on one of my own.

I live on the coast of eastern Australia. I am a Christian. I trusted in the LORD down here at the beach, amazingly it is not far from where I now live. It was over 50 years ago, after a Beach Mission Service at the age of 12 years

Scrappy Mo's Christmas Challenge, Snippets, Friday Smiles + Blog Continued Recess

Hi there everyone, well amazingly we are into Rudolph Day again, at Scrappy Mo’s from 25th to 31st July!
Here is my ultra quick upcycle!
A card from 2019, cut up a little, mounted several times in kraft and silver, silver ribbon and verse added and hey presto new card for 2020 collection!
I love the verse printed below:
“the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world”.
1 John 4:14
This card is all snippets, including the verse, so hopping over to the Snippets playground to join in also, please save me the swings... the slow ones!!
Also sharing some Aussie pickies:
Beaches, surfers, kookaburra in our garden and sunsets.
Mr "Kooka" was on the hunt for worms 😊.. he had two juicy big ones and I told him that's enough! .. garden are roses x 36, lass from down road helping.
.. that's a surfer cutting through the wave below with his board... and another to right. We have had some big seas.
As it's Friday and these make me smile, Im linking up too with Annie's Friday smiles.
Many thanks for popping over for peek and chat I will endeavour to return visits. However, I'm continuing the break from blogging as full recovery a way to go. Full update below.
Love and prayers for all of you, especially if you've struggles in your lives.
I pray with you all in all your burdens,
prayer hugs,
Shaz in Oz. X
PS I noticed that blogger has changed over and Heritage which I'm using is only available till 24th Aug.
That's bad. I may not be able to blog much after that time.
Unless its corrected and workable on mobile devices??
My previous attempts were a miserable fail.

Health update:
I'm getting better with the two steps fwd one step back routine 🙄
For two weeks had painful cellulitis on left hand, this week much better in God's time.
Saw Cardiologist and had echocardiogram, yesterday.
Good news is heart irregularities from Takotsubo Cardiomyopathy have (as hoped and prayed) corrected itself.
God is very merciful.
From where I was 4 weeks ago when I'd doubted recovery to now, I'm very grateful.
God is good, all the time!
Its really a testament to answered prayers.
This verse is what I live by each day.
As a result of my health, I've long lived with an attitude I may go to be with the Lord in any given day... and so truly my times are in THY hands.

So sorry to read about your health issues, Shaz. I hope things improve for you soon.

Your card is beautiful. It looks SO dimensional, too. And I loved the bird on the cart. Of course, that beautiful surf (and surfer) and lovely sky view made me smile, too. Hope you have a lovely weekend, dear.

Hi Shaz,
Happy Rudolf Days.
What a lovely use of Snippets and the tree is fabulous.
Couldn't read the verse as it was too small love the super ribbon used as well.
Thank you for joining the Rudolf Challenge and making me smile with your photos.
Lots of crafty love. Jenny L. DT

You’ve shown us some super landscape photos. I wish I was near the sea for a while. We have then hottest day in months here today and have been put in lockdown again. No visiting other households either inside or outside. Take care

Such beautiful pictures. I love the kookiburra sitting on the cart. Do you suppose he could push it over to our house for a few days.

Hello my dear Shaz. You've been missed here in blogland. I understand about the changes and how hard it is to use the new one. I may not be around either after the "permanent" change.
Thank you for the absolutely stunning photos of your beautiful part of the world. The kookaburra is a lovely bird. And apparently hungry too.
May the Lord bless you with good health and His mercies everyday.
Blessings and hugs,
Betsy

I like your verse. I must pin that up on my wall.
Well done on the recycled card, and using some snippets.
I love the big seas - from a safe distance of course. And it was nice to see the kookaburra. We sing the Kookaburra song as a warm up in my choir, but I didn't know what it looked like.
God be merciful. Kate x

Beautiful upcycloed card, Shaz.
That is a cool image too...have always wanted to make a tree from drift wood snippets!

Glad to hear you are feeling better. I read that there is a resurgence of broken heart syndrome among covid survivors and that is how some people have found out that they actually had it, got better and were then left with the heart issue.
Eventually, they recovered of course.

Take care and hope your hand is not hurting too much. Daughter has had that twice and husband once so i know how fast it can travel up the hand or arm...Do they have you on the daily IV regime?

Thanks for taking part in the July Rudolph Days Challenge.

Wonderful to 'see' you here Shaz - and that is a fabulous upcycle of the Christmas card.
Great news to know that your heart is well into recovery - we will wait. I am not blogging much at the moment as there is a lot going on here for me.
I finished all the roses I prune this week - about 28 all up, with two lots from neighbours, in addition to my own. Plus I also got the crab apple tree pruned today too.
Stay safe
Blessings and prayers
Maxine

I didn't know you were having health problems, Shaz. I'm sorry to hear that. I had to look it up as my medical knowledge did not stretch that far. I'm glad to hear it is slowly sorting itself out. So take it easy.
Your driftwood Christmas tree card is gorgeous.
Take care,
(I'm praying for you now)
Hugs,
Lisca

What a wonderful testament to answered prayers, Shaz! I'm so relieved to hear both your hand and heart are better! It's a miracle about your heart and long may it continue to be right-side up! Keep taking a break and resting and I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. As someone with cardiomyopathy and other things, that's a favorite verse of mine as well, which is why I remind everyone with my blog closing that life is too short and we should live every day like it's our last. Even without illnesses, we should, but it's hard! Your clever upcycled Christmas tree card is stunning and imaginative!! Love and hugs, Darnell

Thank You, Lord!! As always it's such a treat to see the beautiful photos you share of the wildlife and scenic views from your area. Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful country .... I live in the US and love learning about your part of the world... and thank you, also, for sharing your faith in Christ! May the Lord continue to richly bless and keep you!!

Hi Shaz, How is it that either (or both) Magpies and Kookaburras turn up when people are out gardening, do they know it's a sure sign of getting a free (and quick) feed? Glad to here your heart issues are sorting themselves out too, the drift wood tree looks like it is sticking off the card, love the beachy look. Have a wonderful week, sending thoughts and prayers for your recovery... Megan

What a beautiful recycled Christmas card you have made my sweet friend! I love the recycled part, a unique beach "tree"! You have layered it up and put the perfect sentiment on it. So gorgeous! And speaking of gorgeous, those Aussie shots are amazing! I am not into surfing, but am amazed by surfers. So will watch them and I will stay on dry ground. lol Did you ever surf? Then there is the sunset, how beautiful! Thank you for sharing these wonderful photo's with us. Hugs, Brenda
