Thank you for taking time to visit, and I hope I am even a tiny bit helpful as I have been helped and blessed by so many others. I have been doing Calligraphy since teens, and card making for many years as well. In 1990 I delighted in the joys of stamping with ink and embossing after a trip to Cairns, Qld. In 2009 I discovered the brayer, 2010 the Cuttlebug, also have now taking to reading up on crafting blogs and lo! Here I am, on one of my own.

I live on the coast of eastern Australia. I am a Christian. I trusted in the LORD down here at the beach, amazingly it is not far from where I now live. It was over 50 years ago, after a Beach Mission Service at the age of 12 years

Ten Year THANK YOU Blogaversary!! Wow! 😁 Come Join my Blog Candy!

(Drawn here on this post here)
Just popping in to say ... a TEN YEAR Blogaversary is HERE!
On 01.11.10 I started this blog with this post (here), with just calligraphy, and explained name of blog.
So 1st Nov. 2020 is special!
I wrote my first post on the unusual date of 01.11.10!
Ah, my very own Palindrome. πŸ˜Š
The purpose of THIS post is to say a really huge thank you to all my Wonderful Encouragers! I really did not know what I was starting back then, so many friends made through the wonders of blogland, and met many on international trips. Truly a miracle of God’s goodness!
The prize is below:
Two options
Option 1:
A Scrapdragon (Aust. company) Happy Birthday die, hand made card with it shown, and 100 mini pearls. Light enough for OVERSEAS post, so goes anywhere... as long as you’re an encourager.

Option 2:
A handmade book mark with a verse of your choice calligraphed on it. Example here:

To enter, you must:
1. Be an Encourager of this blog ie join through the follow button, on side bar (instructions below).
I suggest you check it is showing "un-follow" button - as sometimes blogger plays tricks and un-follows you - it has with me! and had to re-follow blogs.

To follow... then please go to this link here and follow instructions.

So if you are an Encourager of my blog (or Follower) please put a comment below (I don’t know how to do the Mr Linky bit) and you will go into the draw for this candy.

You will receive two entries as an encourager, and you may chose one entry for each of two candy, or both to one. **Please say clearly which you chose in your comment

2. If not yet an Encourager, please do join on link above. I would dearly love you to occasionally visit and comment, and I will happily reciprocate.
I’m sorry but if you’ve not joined, your entry will not be counted. This is a THANK YOU to Wonderful Encouragers!

3.  I would appreciate it if you would kindly put a link for the candy on your sidebar of your blog, if you have one (EXTRA third entry if you do this so please let me know in your comment if you've added to sidebar)

4.  It will be drawn on 1.12.2020 (sometime that day here in Australia). No fancy methods for the draw – I will put names in hat, old style!
Many, many thanks again to you one and all.
I'm hoping for an increase in Encouragers, as its been stuck on 343 for a year or more... so different to 2010, lots more new bloggers then.
******
To cards.
First one, part of the candy prize 1, as shown..
A piece of scrap card coloured in blended oxides and spritzed with glimmermist.
2nd sample to give you ideas how this die maybe used. This card is separate to candy, is a serviette mounted background, actually wallpaper oriental design in Blenheim Palace, UK. I've seen it in one of my visits, a beautiful palace, loved the china there too. Both cards have greeting multi mounted with gold in this and silver in candy card.
This HAPPY birthday die is VERY easy to layer and use. Be good on A2 card too.
When adding to card, use the piece you've removed it from as placement guide as that really helps.
**AFTER a comment on previous post, I thought I’d share this tip for single layer embossing.
These card fronts below are dry embossed. I've an A4 size machine and love that you can make one layer base cards with embossed fronts.
It beats layering and is great for a CAS look with extra pop!
I've just run the folder through spread out length wise on A4 in opened up 5 x7 cards. I've quite a few 5 x 7 Embossing folders too. The one on right is Enbossaliscious Recency Swirls, on candy card with rounded corners.
On left is a Courture creations 5 x7 EF, and has a perfectly fit border around it.

Thanks so much for your visit, especially I thank you if you're a wonderful encourager and PLEASE DO join in the fun with this candy!
May the Lord bless and keep you all well and safe.
Prayer hugs πŸ™πŸ€—
 Shaz in Oz.x
Editplease do not refuse candy because of distance, post cost very little on both prizes.
It will spoil my desire to say thank you, you are so precious to me.
THANK YOU!

***CANDY IS NOW CLOSED!!***

Today's thought:
In the words of the hymn:
To God be the glory .. great things He hath done,
So loved He the world that He gave us His Son,

Who yielded His life an atonement for sin,
And opened the life gate that all may go in.

Refrain
Praise the Lord, praise the Lord,
Let the earth hear His voice!
Praise the Lord, praise the Lord,
Let the people rejoice!
O come to the Father, through Jesus the Son,
And give Him the glory, great things He hath done

** Di's Snippets Playground Latest Snippets Challenge here - both cards have snippets.** NBUS challenge the Happy birthday is a NBUS “NEVER BEFORE USED SCHTUFF”over here at Darnells.

Happy ten years Shaz, so I guess I've known you that long, how time flies.

So good of you to offer a prize, but please leave me out of the draw, the UK is just too far away to post with the costs as they are now.

B x

Wow Shaz! Ten years! Congratulations on your beautiful blogs anniversary my dear friend.
You always give so much encouragement to me through your posts and comments. What a blessing it is to call you my sister in Christ. The US is way too far for you to have to send me anything but I wanted to congratulate you in your blogiversary.

Please don't include me in your giveaway as I have won from you in the past, plus I am not a regular commenter. Just wanted to pop in and share in your happy news! Wishing you many more years of fun blogging! By the way, your birthday cards are gorgeous!

I've been a regular reader of your blog, as you know, but always kept up with new posts through checking it on my own or through your blog list link on Wonderful Words of Life blog. I'm now a "real" follower, though, so your number will be higher than 343! :D It appears from the comments above that a lot of others are opting out of the giveaway due to shipping costs for you... I've shipped some overseas (once to Australia) and a small package weighing about 4 oz. costed me around $14 if I remember correctly...so not sure how much these would cost for you since they would weigh less. It's thoughtful of you to offer a giveaway! I can understand reasons others are opting out in their kindness...but as you asked, I won't turn it down to disappoint your kindness either. Thank you for doing this! I couldn't make up my mind about either the bookmark or the birthday die cut... They both would be lovely. A bookmark with a Bible verse would be very special.

Talk about dumb! Fat fingers deleted tjis comment sorry Megan, as deleted its irretrievably gone so pasting it from my email:
"Megan J has left a new comment on your post "Ten Year THANK YOU Blogaversary!! Wow! 😁 Come Joi...":

Hi Shaz, Congratulations on your 10 years of blogging, I popped back to your first post, your Calligraphy work is amazing. Two stunning cards with the Scrapdragon Happy Birthday die, love the inky background (I've had to lay off them while my shoulder rests and heals) looks like you die cut from a die cut which means an extra card to boot. The paper napkin birthday card is superb a great way to use some of the floral papers too. Thank you for the inspiration... have a wonderful week... Megan "

What a wonderful milestone worthy of celebration, Shaz! Cheers to many more! You've had a rough year so this celebration is even more special! I was going to bow out of your give-away but I respect your request that we not do that.😊Your cards are gorgeous and I'm delighted to see you sharing them with everyone at NBUS! Thank you! Keep well! Hi Shaz. Congrats on your ten years. I would love to receive either of your gorgeous gifts. The die is beautiful but I think it might be rather expensive to send it over here so I don't mind if you miss me out. I will never forget that wonderful day we spent together and it still makes me feel that you're really not so far away. Sending big hugs and much love, Angela xXx

Hi Shaz - Well, congratulations on 10 years of blogging. Wonder how long you had been blogging before we first met? I still remember meeting outside Boots Chemist and neither of us had a clue who we were looking out for. Strange how we just seemed to know. Wonder who pointed us in the right direction?
Lovely give-aways but please, if my name is pulled out could you let Sandra de have my prize. I don't seem to have seen her around for ages and do miss her. It would be lovely to let her know I am thinking of her. I am sure she would enjoy your calligraphy.
Hugs, Neet xx

Oh Sharon, Happy Blogaversary!!!! 10 years, wow! Definitely worthy of a celebration! I'm definitely wishing you many more blogging years! I'm sad to say I don't even pay any attention to my blogaversaries. With the year you have had an the year the world has had, it is great to celebrate something this special. Your gifts are so cool, loving them both! So put my two entries in for each one please. The cards you made are so beautiful.....as usual. People always love your Christmas cards you sent to me and they can see how beautiful your cards are! I love this birthday card, the die cut from inked paper is so pretty, loving the frame around it and the embossing. Embossing just adds so much class to a card and I definitely need to do it more often. The paper on our second birthday card is so lovely. I do hope you are feeling well my sweet friend and are doing good. Hugs, Brenda PS: Not sure what link I am supposed to put on my sidebar (or if I even remember how to) so I didn't do that.

Many congratulations dear Shaz! Your blog has inspired creativity over the years, your photos have caused many to yearn for Australia! Most importantly your faithfulness in sharing the Word has been of greatest importance. You may never know how your faithfulness has advanced the Gospel for the Kingdom. Please don't enter me in the draw, I have been blessed by you as a friend for many years. Here's to the next 10 years of your blog! xxx

Dearest Shaz - well done on your blogaversary! Many congratulations and here's to many more years. W was going to dip out of your wonderful giveaway as others have - but know the disappointment when folk do that due to postal costs in the Playground. So I' in, with a preference for one of your lovely bookmarks!

Congratulations on your 10 year blogaversarry, I am ashamed to say that I think this is the first time I have visited you, and that is after you kindly paid me a visit. I have no idea why that is as your cards and calligraphy are amazing. I am constantly coming across new people to follow, so I suppose I shouldn't be surprised. How lovely that you are offering such a great thank you to your followers. New and old xx
