Thank you for taking time to visit, and I hope I am even a tiny bit helpful as I have been helped and blessed by so many others. I have been doing Calligraphy since teens, and card making for many years as well. In 1990 I delighted in the joys of stamping with ink and embossing after a trip to Cairns, Qld. In 2009 I discovered the brayer, 2010 the Cuttlebug, also have now taking to reading up on crafting blogs and lo! Here I am, on one of my own.

I live on the coast of eastern Australia. I am a Christian. I trusted in the LORD down here at the beach, amazingly it is not far from where I now live. It was over 50 years ago, after a Beach Mission Service at the age of 12 years

WOYWW Double Embossing on Folders

Hullo there everyone! Well, it is now time again for  WOYWW (What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday, very kindly hosted at Julia of the Stamping Ground. Take a peek and learn just what folks are crafting making creating ..all over the world!
Well, two desks today for the price of one! desk one earlier .. yes a sewing spot.. I used to make all my clothes but not so much these days .. but needed a new nightie as old fav. had died so unpicked and and cut up pattern. Here is overlocker, sewing machine (both over 20 years old but still go well) and ironing board at front.. like to press as sew, it saves pinning, etc..
 Here is what I was making;
now finished with sleeves in as that is what was doing in top shot.
Note pin-tucking .. bit of nightmare involving unpicking, etc for last two rows of ten rows .. why do you get the first ones just right then struggle on last two? but really like it, and was on original so persevered.. "and so you should" mum would say. :D
Here is my crafty desk as of now! A mess indeed (mainly to cropped left), but creative one! One card done, another almost done; here is the close up of cards in earlier stages of working.
Two folders (Couture Creations Budding vine and extra large Crafter's companion D'esire Regency swirls one I cut this folder down - see here) are double embossed - dry embossed with cuttlebug folder in bug, then embossed to highlight it with Golden Delicata ink.. do love it. Images are from Nicecrane "Flowers bring smiles". I saw the images over on Ginny's blog here and being rose lover fell in love with them, and so trotted over to buy them (bad me .. on buying ban supposedly)..
Aussie shots today from a month or so ago at my family's home.. view from  their verandah.
at 7.50pm moon rising sun setting.. just love the blues, marvellous creation.
...almost an hour later.
Well that's it for me. I was going to share cards made but camera battery died - takes while to recharge, so will post them separately later all being well.
May God richly bless your day wherever you maybe.. and thanks for popping over for peek and chat. (if with WOYWW please leave number).

That last shot is so smoky and atmospheric. Love it. And a very pretty card as well. Funny, my camera batteries died yesterday too. Luckily my WOYWW shot is from DH's phone :)

Happy WOYWW!

Love the photos. Good to see sewing going on for WOYWW - I think copying an old loved garment is a lost skill these days. Your nightie looks so pretty. x Jo

Hi Shaz - what amazing views! I love the cards, and a great idea to make your own nighties - especially if you find a pattern that really works for you. Have a great week, Chris # 19 xx

Cor, that last moon shot is atmospheric - great picture!
It's so great to see other sewing machines out on show on the desk this week - I've never used an overlocker as I don't make many clothes. Your finished nightie is ever so pretty, well done you - especially for persevering ;-)
Hugs, LLJ 14 xx

Hi Shaz,
I really like how you have your sewing machine, serger and ironing board all in a close spot. I wish I had room for that. Your gown looks professionally done-all all of those pin tucks! WOW! Well done! Beautiful pictures as always. How blessed you are to live so close to the ocean. I fear I would never get anything done because I would be gazing at it all day.
Blessings,
Betsy

You have been busy! I love the bright colors of your journal pages.Your lady and swan are gorgeous! There are lots of quotes online you can find, I'm sure one will jump right out at you! I did the vinegar and baking soda experiments with my students last year - they loved them and did them over and over...! Have fun!

Hi Shaz, love your sewing corner ... it looks the perfect set up ... and the finished nightie is lovely. I used to do a lot of dressmaking when I was younger but, apart from a making a couple of sundresses for the grands last summer, not now ... the interest has gone! Your cards are lovely ... I like your double embossed pieces - very effective. And the flower toppers are beautiful ... worth breaking the ban for. Thanks for visiting earlier and you are welcome to come play anytime you like :) Have a great week. Elizabeth x #39

Nice job on the nightie. I also have a favorite that I need to copy as it is falling apart and worn quite thin.

Loved your Good Friday post below. Thank you for your witness.

Fabulous nightie - I remember when my fave nightie 'died' - it was one my Nan had made, and my dolly had a matching one. Must be 20 years ago - strange the things we remember!
Love the last photo :)

Hello Shaz. That night shot is so atmospheric - fabulous! Well done.
Put the folder and card back through the embossing machine, but with ink on?? Have I understood that right? My brain isn't too awake at the mo., what with hospital visiting and all...
Lovely cards as usual, Shaz. I really like those bird images - keep looking at the website and wondering if I can justify them....but maybe not whilst J is in hospital.
Thanks for the visit already. J now on intravenous antibiotics to kill off a bug lurking at the bottom of his lungs. Thank you for your prayers - heaven seems very silent at the moment; but I am determined to trust God for HIS outcome to all this - a good lesson for me in trust!!! Not too good at that!
Reports for the AGM just need printing and collating now, so am nearly ready for the meeting next week. John had done most of the work - hardest part was working out where to find thimngs on his computer - his brain works differently, and he files things differently to me!! however - got them!
Have a special week, and I am remembering your friends before Father God.

Oh, I wish I could sew! I don't get along with the machine. I even got a new one, and the tension is never right, no matter what I am sewing on. :( Lovely double embossing. I love how you put the gold on the embossed part. Just gorgeous. Thanks for sharing the photo, beautiful. #92

You can sew too? Your nightie looks fantastic even if the pintucking was a bit of a trial.

Your photos look gorgeous - esp. the last one as it has such an atmosphere about it.

Love the effect of the double-embossing. I have that same Delicata gold ink pad - guess, I forgot I had it till I saw what you did with it. I shall have to dig it out and have a play!
