Thank you for taking time to visit, and I hope I am even a tiny bit helpful as I have been helped and blessed by so many others. I have been doing Calligraphy since teens, and card making for many years as well. In 1990 I delighted in the joys of stamping with ink and embossing after a trip to Cairns, Qld. In 2009 I discovered the brayer, 2010 the Cuttlebug, also have now taking to reading up on crafting blogs and lo! Here I am, on one of my own.

I live on the coast of eastern Australia. I am a Christian. I trusted in the LORD down here at the beach, amazingly it is not far from where I now live. It was over 50 years ago, after a Beach Mission Service at the age of 12 years

WOYWW + Bugaboo + White Emboss Resist card

Well, we passed safely into a new financial year, also into winter here where I live in Oz. It suddenly has become what we call cold at night here, thankfully lovely warm days but hard to be inside when sun beckons outside! Enough waffling, here to my desk, for it is WOYWW or What is On Your Workdesk Wednesday, over at world wide desk hostess Julia’s blog - here!
And yes have finally finished all five of Lee’s cards – you can see me with last two print outs done of the poem inserts for inside of cards (under cards) and left last night ; am ready to cut insert for these two cards. (mm, desk resembles push and shove clean up) Purple one showed last week (here, and posted one here too). The blue one was started on last weeks desk, so am sharing it this week. On the right had side next to my small guillotine you can see my homemade bow easy. Have one but is is very safe(?) place :D I needed a grosgrain ribbon bow for blue card - solution? after watching the short clear video saved to my mobile (see here)worked out which dimensions I needed and cut up from scrap card, so there 'tis.
So this the card which I was working on last week see here for white embossing powder resist. Tip: heat the embossing powder from the bottom, (especially important with large area of embossing like this one) and you wont get dimples in your embossing. Two strips at back of embossing are the Crafts Concepts Budding vine. Stamp is from Stamping Up, the butterflies are from Victorine Originals, punch is MS Layered Arches. The greeting is a digi formatted in Word, and heat embossed if you are quick enough you can heat emboss greetings, etc. Scored line and two pearls.
The next card has been done before (see here), even had some of the embossed squares folder left to make the card. Jazzed it up with dies, as Lee likes fancy; they are Fleur de Lis Labels 8 top and Victorian Squares for greeting, I think? Digi is house moving digi from Bugaboo ..cool huh!! have paper pieced it, but hard to see.
Here is the beach last week, that is Muttonbird island and the jetty in the distance, on one of my daily walks - the afternoon lights are so pretty so clear in winter do enjoy Gods wonderful creation in this part of the world.. have lots of lovely chats to Him down there... sit among the rocks, enjoy, and look and pray!!
A big welcome to Elaine A., latest wonderful encourager, of this humble blog.. many thanks if you have blog let me know so I can join it and also link over to it from a post here.
Happy WOYWW every one and may God bless your day
wherever you may be! Shaz in Oz.x

Two most beautiful cards. Really love the way you've used the panels and tiny squares of embossed panels to decorate an already pretty card. Of course you know I loved the beach photo. I can just imagine your joy at taking a walk in this pretty place, and yes, would be a very inspirational place to have a good talk! I imagine He is very close in such a beautiful place that He made for you to enjoy! TFS & Blessings.

Love the first card it has a lovely ca feel to it. The thought of still being able to walk on the beach in winter without being blown away made me laugh..... Couldn't do it here. I hope I can get to visit Oz one day .... It's on my bucket list .... It looks so beautiful don't stop posting your photos ....
Janet @7 thanks for your visit already

Beautiful cards, Shaz, and I always enjoy the embossing-resist technique. Nice shading with the inks! Your seaside view is just gorgeous. For me there is nothing nicer than walking along the beach, especially in the winter when nobody else is there. We had an outing along Torquay sea front on Sunday with Mum (93) and she loves to fill her lungs with sea air! I just love the sea.

Thanks for your visit and your nice comment - we all need to encourage each other with this weight loss malarkey, don't we! The 5:2 diet is certainly the best I've ever come across, and for many people the one that best offers any chance for lasting success.

Happy WOYWW,

What a gorgeous shot! and glad to see the finished card from last week. I love that about WOYWW, the way we can dip in, week after week, and still feel a sense of continuity. Always a treat to see your cards, and I am intrigued by Word Art Wednesday so off to follow the link....

Bright warm days make cold nights more tolerable I think, and the picture of your beach is just lovely - a mackerel sky, we call that. Am loving the push back methd at work on your desk Shaz, I often wondered about your actual method when 'in full flow'. Lee will be thrilled with her cards.

Shaz, you make the most beautiful cards - I love the blue one. Lee will be so pleased.
You made me smile with it being cold but sunny during the day, sounds like an English sumer.
Take care - Hugs, & thanks for visiting me - Neet 10 xx

Beautiful cards as usual, Shaz. The way you have finished the blue one is lovely. Love the sea shot - just where we like to be to talk with Father God, too. We tend not to get out and walk, now, though - just sit in the car and gaze. John's scooter would sink in our sand round here!!
Trust all is well with you and yours.
Take care. God bless.

Hi Shaz, so nice to be catching up with you. I can see you have been busy and your cards are lovely. Beautiful photo of the island whose name, Muttonbird, conjured up such a strange looking creature to my mind's eye, although I can quite see why you enjoy your walks along that shore. Your cards are always so beautiful and your beach and rocks area to sit and reflect is no wonder why you have chosen there to connect it is screams tranquility. I would also gravitate to that place if it was near me too.

Have a wonderful week, I have not posted my desk yet, I will later today when I get home.
