Thank you for taking time to visit, and I hope I am even a tiny bit helpful as I have been helped and blessed by so many others. I have been doing Calligraphy since teens, and card making for many years as well. In 1990 I delighted in the joys of stamping with ink and embossing after a trip to Cairns, Qld. In 2009 I discovered the brayer, 2010 the Cuttlebug, also have now taking to reading up on crafting blogs and lo! Here I am, on one of my own.

I live on the coast of eastern Australia. I am a Christian. I trusted in the LORD down here at the beach, amazingly it is not far from where I now live. It was over 50 years ago, after a Beach Mission Service at the age of 12 years

Frog cards, Spellbinders and WOYWW

{WARNING - Picture heavy post.}

Hullo there everyone - YES! 'Tis Wednesday and desk showing/ sharing again!! Pop over to Julia's - we all join together to share and learn on a world wide desk hop.
Here are my messy desks x 2 = double trouble :D
Desk late Monday as was making my nephew's birthday card - used some snippet of photo paper which had been inked using the crumpled wet cling wrap method see here. Am measuring pieces for tile effect on card with snippet of back to mount.
Completed card with computer print out for greeting, Stamp is from My Stamps 44F of Australia, circa 1995.
Today's desk shows the card begun last fortnight's desk, and here layering the Cheery Lynn "Mini Fanciful Flourish die"with three layers so it sits well on card. Rest of recipe see this post here - where made wedding card - this card was test run for it. Inked up on the die cuts to match the DP.
The finished card - 70th for my dear friend's birthday. Do love Spellbinders -recipe here
A close up so you can see the details, greeting is on computer again. The green is there on the DP, it just does not show up much in photos.
This card was also on last fortnight's desk, and finally finished it as thank you for wonderful biscuits (Swiss baked each Christmas by a dear 80 y.o. father of a friend). Biscuits photographed and printed out, "Thanks" and "Marco" are from CB Olivia Alphabet set.
This is why I was absent last week was up at family's place on the beach, view from their balcony, and we did go swimming in the lovely warm waves. We have had another glorious day today but had lots of rain in between. This photo has not been enhanced, that is how brilliant and bright it was.
I really wanted to share this with you... See that lovely clear foam?? When you are swimming in the surf, which we were, it is like being in a salty foamy bubble bath, I really love that part and not sure if it is common where there are not waves of any decent size and regularity. It is is not like this at the jetty where the waves are small but only in open surf... A wonderful gift of God's creation!! That's why I chose the Bible verse below .. it reminds me of the sea's power and God's almighty power, grace and love for each of us - He cares, yes! He cares.
Ending with a little of housekeeping I am delighted to welcome a new encourager of this blog ~ Therese,  from Australia, who does great videos - her blog is Lost in Paper, do pop over. https://lostinpaper.wordpress.com

Well, thanks so much everyone for popping over for peek and chat.. and may God bless your day wherever you may be..  Shaz in Oz.x

"He maketh the storm a calm, so that the waves thereof are still. Then are they glad because they be quiet; so he bringeth them unto their desired haven." Psalm 107:29, 30

What a beautiful Bible verse - and so appropriate. Two gorgeous photos of the wonderful area in which you live (or visit).
Three gorgeous cards too - I love the froggy one and must check out that technique - such a lot you can do with cling film. The Cheery Lynn one - well, that is just absolutely beautiful and the biscuit one is pure genius.
You are so talented Shaz.
Take care, Blessings, Neet xx 29

Hello!

Love your card and that picture of the foamy sea ah wish I could jump in there! I am in England at the moment - it is cold here but at home in Slovenia they have about 70 cm of snow! So a big difference from what you have there! So lucky!
Lots of hugs,

Lovely cards, Shaz - cute frog!! Oh, that sunshine and sea! We haven't had snow here by the sea, but there is plenty on the mountains... how I'd love to get to them and see it.... have to see if John is up to that.
Take care, and thanks for visiting.
God bless.

I love the tiled frog card, if I attempt anything like that I end up with wonky, odd sized tiles! Your scenic photo looks very inviting.

It's still cold here in the Pacific Northwest, but not as bad as on our East coast so I'm not complaining too much. :-) However it would be a wonderful thing to be swimming with you in that lovely ocean my friend. My favorite card today is the 70th birthday one. It is gorgeous with all of my favorite colors.
Blessings,
Betsy

I tried the cling plastic once, but my paper was not coated enough and it ripped... Checked your link, but I don't have glossy card at the moment...I'll have to retry with photo paper! Love the frog, really fun!

The Texas coast is really a bay the Gulf of mexico and we do not have surface and it never looks that blue which is probably OK as I could never take a fab photo like you have. makes me want to jump on a plane. Love the blue of the cards and now can ssee your inspiration.

What a terrific frog card. That is a great technique with the plastic wrap. It's a good guy card. Your second card is beautiful and so detailed. The biscuit picture made my mouth water. They are gorgeous! So is your scenery. How wonderful you have a place like that to visit.

Hi Shaz, love the cling wrap background. I will have to give that a try. I adore your beach shots. Even though we have a boat and often go up the Hawkesbury River for the weekend, I pine for the ocean. I love everything about the beach, summer or winter ... I think it's genetic.
About those Gelatos ... I got them from Craftonline and no they didn't cost a fortune, $15, I think. Some other sets were less than that but the ones I got are "metallic", because, naturally, I'm attracted to anything shiny :)

Beautiful cards. Especially like the froggy one. Thought I heard a frog in our pond the other day. Beginning to wake up and getting ready for the spring. I checked on my little Ellie's yesterday and they are still tucked up snug in the leaf moulds in the container in the garage. Won't be ready to hatch out until April.
Can't wait for spring to start.
Had enough of the cold and wet and damp. Not having a good time here at present. Amongst other things I have a double dose of cystitis. Pills from Dr's have just about kicked in but feeling very down. hugs mrs A.
