Thank you for taking time to visit, and I hope I am even a tiny bit helpful as I have been helped and blessed by so many others. I have been doing Calligraphy since teens, and card making for many years as well. In 1990 I delighted in the joys of stamping with ink and embossing after a trip to Cairns, Qld. In 2009 I discovered the brayer, 2010 the Cuttlebug, also have now taking to reading up on crafting blogs and lo! Here I am, on one of my own.

I live on the coast of eastern Australia. I am a Christian. I trusted in the LORD down here at the beach, amazingly it is not far from where I now live. It was over 50 years ago, after a Beach Mission Service at the age of 12 years

WOYWW Watercolour Distress Ink + Ink Resist Birthday Card.

{Warning -VERY  photo heavy post}

Well, it has been a while it seems since joining WOYWW ( see here  Julia's Stamping Ground,) or What is On Your Workdesk Wednesday or in my case ... Thursday! it's the way things are these days - very topsy turvy, but I am here!
{I want to link up also to Word Art Wednesday (WAW) and Di's snippets, see links below.}
Loads of pickies and first one shows my desk last weekend when was making a quick, and yes! it was quick card for my SiL. Had Distress inks in card below it so out they came again.. saw a card like this on my Pinterest Layouts page. Colours are Peacock Feather, Broken China, Dusty Concord.
Soak the water colour paper with water add inks via craft mat and also directly from pad in random fashion the spritz again with more water. move colour around with heat tool as drying it add more if needed.
Stamped Kaisercraft Butterfly twice with waterproof ink and also with Versafine Black Onyx with clear EP. Used the latter, as was much nicer in my two tests.
Coloured with Distress inks smooched onto craft mat + water. Then spritzed with Diamond Dust Glimmer mist, hand cut them out. Curl with bone folder to give dimension on card. Mount with silicone glue to support the wings
Embossing folder is Swirl EF was done with my 8" x 8" folder, which I cut down to fit in Big shot.. see here. Have also spritzed water colour piece with Diamond dust Glimmer mist, popped it up on double white background with silver thread added underneath + random pearls. This card also reminds me of Cathy's card spot .. take a peek and you will see what I mean!
Ink resist done before (see all details on this post, and here), stamp in clear embossing powders, then inked up with round DI tools. Used DI Weathered Wood, Peacock feathers, Dusty Concord.
I love this new stamp by Hero Arts was watching it on eBay when PayPal sent me a $10 voucher to buy on eBay!! I rang them cos didn't believe it .. was true! so this cost $10 less, about $5 {Yay! thank you, LORD!!} :D
The Aussie shot for today - this is from verandah at Easter when visiting family, at the very tip of the bird wing on the watermark is the kangaroo I spotted, so zoomed with the 24x optical lens.
"Mm, I think someone is looking at me..."
.. " they're somewhere, I can't see them though..."

"I think I'll hide.."
Note the seaview the kangaroo has behind the grasses, not bad eh?? he was actually mainly eating and just peeked some of the time.
Also want to welcome a new Wonderful Encourager - please pop over and say hi to Carole Robb Bisson from WAW!
Thanks so much for popping over for peek and chat .. will return your visit as soon as I can, as do love to see your work too. :D
May God bless your day and those you love, wherever you may be.

As a non card maker and stamper, I still find the processes interesting, especially when shown step by step as you did. The butterfly card is fab, I love it! And ol' Skippy there looks like he's having a fab time in the grass :-)
I've had a hard couple of months with my elderly dad, which culminated into moving him into a care home last week. Just wasn't in the mood for crafting......but it's ok now, he's happy and so am I :-)

Love all the cards, but especially the butterflies. Thanks for showing us how to make the card. I need all the help I can get! Love the picture of the kangaroo. Of course we don't have kangaroos here but I have come home at night and had to wait for the deer to get out of my driveway. Hugs.

Hi Shaz
The cards are gorgeous! Great techniques too. I will have to try that background embossing method, it looks spectacular!
No woyww this week, but had to have a look at a few favourites.
BTW, I should be OK for the 7th (I think), if it suits you? Third time lucky, maybe :)
