Thank you for taking time to visit, and I hope I am even a tiny bit helpful as I have been helped and blessed by so many others. I have been doing Calligraphy since teens, and card making for many years as well. In 1990 I delighted in the joys of stamping with ink and embossing after a trip to Cairns, Qld. In 2009 I discovered the brayer, 2010 the Cuttlebug, also have now taking to reading up on crafting blogs and lo! Here I am, on one of my own.

I live on the coast of eastern Australia. I am a Christian. I trusted in the LORD down here at the beach, amazingly it is not far from where I now live. It was over 50 years ago, after a Beach Mission Service at the age of 12 years

Washi Card with Scored lines + Die cuts + WOYWW

Hi one and all, yes it IS WEDNESDAY! Curious isn’t it how it comes.. in a blink. Of course it’s also time to do WOYWW! What is On Your Workdesk Wednesday... over at Desks of the World first - over at dear Julia’s desk at the Stamping Ground. To my desks..
I’m working with washi tape! Do love washi...here I’ve three wide rolls of washi bought on eBay from Asian sellers, it’s certainly not readily available here! I’ve also a strawberry clear container full of regular washi. There is corner rounder punch on far top left. Front one of my non stick scissors, have four pair, two different sizes and love them all.
I’ve made three cards with washi of differing widths..
Two with wide and one with regular - to show you don’t need wide. If you want to check out more look here (standard width, and using die cut words), herehere and here, all have examples mostly with regular width Washi.
Washi tape one or two layers, if desired, on card base, depending on width, that’s what I’ve done here.. Score couple of lines either side with score board.
TIP: If you score top line first, allowing room for one or two or three lines on top then you put the washi tape on straight.
I forgot to use washi diecuts for these cards, but if you remember die cuts in the washi are best. Think I’m might go back and do this.
Links above have the washi diecuts done. Then for any die cuts you put the washi on scrap of white card to size needed. Then layer  up die cuts while still in base one, to hold it in shape.
To the cards, I’ve used I.O. and CCD sentiment dies, added various peel offs some of which came from crop 2018, love border peel offs and there were some there. Love all of them, will be using sentiment with washi so will update if I do..
Adding this one has washi diecuts. It’s with regular washi width, two different sort from a set.
Now to the Aussie shots, as I’ve not been able to go walking (left knee and wrist injured in fall still recover) these are from last June when I wasn’t blogging. I love both of them.
Well, that’s me this week. Done zero cardmaking until these three cards since last week’s Mario Kart pop up slider card. The fall has knocked me more than realised but am improving.
Happy WOYWW everyone and May our dear Loving Father God bless your day wherever you may be, hugs Shaz in Oz.x
Edit: (14.7.19) adding images with the three cards and their top layer of washi. I put it on scraps of card, add DST and die cut. First image shows the three layers of die cut. Layerthe up in bottom layer to hold it in place.
Add the tape after you've added the first lot of scoring, you'll have it straight and know where to put bottom layer.
Thought for the day:
This has to be one of my many favourites... lead me to the Rock ... as the hymn says, that Rock is Jesus, the Only One!
What a blessing to have One upon Whom we can cast our EVERY care.

Wonderful Wide Washi on a Wednesday!! That's really lovely and a quick way to make an effective and pretty card. I really like the birds on a wire and music notes one, as I often try to sing what music the birds are making in their formation, lol!

I have all kinds of (Washi) tape but don't use it very much. Also, the cheaper ones don't stick good, the tape comes off, and I always have to extra glue it which I find annoying... but the idea of a simple card with tape sounds (and looks!) awesome!!! I will remember that for the times I need a 'quick card' so thank you for this tip!!! I hope your knee and wrist will heal fast. Happy woyww and a big hug from Holland. Marit #17

Hi Shaz, love the cards. Made me think I ned to look into Washi tape. Never bothered before as it didn't grab me, but love what you've done. Always amuses me how often we think alike- I've been using my scoreboard to add some interest on the Glitter cards I've been making this week! Have a lovely week, Hugs, Shaz #6 X

That is a brilliant way to make a card, never thought of using Washi tape that way. Gorgeous photographs too, lucky you. I've been using my scoreboard this week but to score the lines on a new Mini wallet book. Happy creative woyww, Angela x16x

Hi Shaz. I've been MIA for three weeks, so didn't know you had a fall - I do hope you are recovering, albeit, slowly. Those are great cards - my only Washi tape is narrower, and doesn't have glorious patterns on like yours, so I reckon mine wouldn't make such stunning effects - but I might give them a go!!
Lovely sunshine shots today.
Take care. God bless.

Yes, that was it - Judy's Fabrications. I used to spend many a happy hour on there just looking and drooling over her work. She used to visit an aunt I think in some kind of nursing home. What a shame her artwork has gone and we can no longer see it. I have not found anyone who does lace things as good as what she did. She was a natural. I so need her for inspiration - ah well, onwards and upwards.
Was going to ask how you were following the fall last week but you do end your post saying that you have not recovered from the shock of it yet. Must have been a terrible experience and i can understand that but I am sure The Lord is looking after you and sending healing slowly to make sure you don't overdo things too soon. Hope the limbs soon recover and you can go back to your beloved beaches and go swimming again.
I would never have thought of using Washi Tape for a card but you have shown the way. The cards are gorgeous and the addition of a diecut word finishes them off perfectly. Anyone would be pleased to receive one of those cards from you.
God Bless you Shaz, take care and do as He tells you.

Sadly, as we get older, it takes longer for us to recover from a fall. Just take care of yourself. I like the flower wah tap. That is pretty. Hope you feel better by next week. xxx Maggie (Silvercrafter) #27

Wow, Shaz, you found yourself some spectacular Washi tape! I love your designs and your photos! I'm so sorry to hear that you did end up with some aches and pains the next few days. That often happens. I'm praying that everything will be healed and you'll be back to yourself in no time!! Huge hugs, Darnell

Beautiful cards, Shaz - very simple but all the more stylish for that! Washi isn't something I have ever used yet. Your Aussie photos are so beautiful! Thank you for your visit and all your kind words about my upcoming appointments etc. So glad you like my slippers and embellishments! I'm having to work on that project slowly because I'm having to spend a lot of time setting up my new blog, and have encountered a major problem with logging on, which the web host is helping me with - something to do with our network because our neighbour let me try on hers and it worked. There's still lots to set up, too, and being a novice, it all takes time.

Happy belated WOYWW,

That is some beautiful washi tape Sharon!!! I love washi too, and need to use it so much more than I do. Beautiful CAS cards for sure! I am so sorry you are still having issues from your fall. I too, am having issues from when I broke my foot four years ago and this past month it has decided to give me a fit. So not so much walking for me either. Praying that you feel better soon and can go for your fall walks. The Aussie shots are just beautiful as is the scripture. Big hugs, Brenda
