Thank you for taking time to visit, and I hope I am even a tiny bit helpful as I have been helped and blessed by so many others. I have been doing Calligraphy since teens, and card making for many years as well. In 1990 I delighted in the joys of stamping with ink and embossing after a trip to Cairns, Qld. In 2009 I discovered the brayer, 2010 the Cuttlebug, also have now taking to reading up on crafting blogs and lo! Here I am, on one of my own.

I live on the coast of eastern Australia. I am a Christian. I trusted in the LORD down here at the beach, amazingly it is not far from where I now live. It was over 50 years ago, after a Beach Mission Service at the age of 12 years

Scrappy Mo's Christmas Challenge + WOYWW

Just quickly sharing, for two reasons. Firstly  for Christmas card challenge - over at Scrappy Mo's!
It's  also Wednesday so time for WOYWW over at Julia's Stamping Ground - pop over to see stunning desks of the world. Certainly more interesting than mine.
Okay, mine is in clean up "get-some-clean-space" mode. Just finished the two Christmas cards on the left. Also see a piece of stamped watercolour card, it was a trial piece back in February. Male cards are requisite for four upcoming birthdays in next few months. Liked last four made with watercolour technique going to do repeat. Also a female card needing to be made.. not in view but done trial stamping.

Two cards done two ways.. but started as one bought card, just one scene.. which I cut in half to make two cards.
Used different EF, both CB though, and dies are both Spellbinder.
The ribbon label also SB and the verse "The Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the World" is a digi. Never seen it in a stamp.

Still not walking, shin needing a bit longer but took the bird ones when came home through unopened car window  .. blue faced honey eaters love our orange  Grevillia, Birdsong.
The sea shot was taken a few hours ago when driving down to our local fish co-op to pick up cooked crumbed whiting. Yum!

Thats me for today everyone. Had issues again with blogger. Had to write the beginning twice with links and all.
God bless your day everyone.. and thanks if you pop over especially if you say hi!
Prayer hugs

What is Your Own Workdesk Wednesday TENTH Anniversary

Hi there everyone!
Great celebrations today! Week 520 of WOYWW!
WOYWW 10 - What is On Your Workdesk Wednesday
In the land of Blog, there is a hop called WOYWW,
For running it, our Head Desker, Julia, must take a bow,
All over the world she gathers desks all in a row,
And thereupon we Bloggers our work we do show.
It’s our tenth anniversary which has come upon us now,
So let’s all join together to celebrate our Tenth WOYWW!
Huge Congratulations dear Julia, and to also to Lunch Lady Jan who ably aided her in the wings .. So to check out desks elsewhere.. see our Queen Julia of WOYWW, Over Here! To my desk!
As you can see there is some inkiness going on. Revisited the Distress Ink on Gloss card technique shown back here! A really great technique, you smooch the inks in selection of colours that go together.
HINTS - it faded somewhat, once dried. I decided to try usual colour pop technique with oxides and sprayed it with good hair spray.
YES! it popped colour beautifully. Also may set chalks with it, but cheap hair spray is tacky so don’t use it.. (wonder how I know?).
Another tip is you can reactivate copies of inky gloss card, if not happy with random inking, a light spritz of water and redo. If don’t spritz it doesn’t work.

I’d done that with some of these.
Here’s today’s desk with ATC assembly line starting, I’ve inky limited number because my leg decided not to heal well. On Sat, found wound had opened up in two places, so I had to fix it it up, to rest and rest. I cheated on WOYWW 10.. printed it on printer upon taped on snippets of card on sheet of paper.
Printed template on copy paper then taped colours on right spot to reprint copy. Was able to heat emboss them as gloss card. Loved that!
Here is the card I’ve made with ATC hidden for PiF for Our Tenth Anniversary. I’ve joined  WOYWW on  first Wednesday in 2011. Didn’t blog when WOYWW began - in fact didn’t discover blogs till March 2010. First blog post was on palindrome date of 01.11.10... totally unplanned. 😊 The inked stamp on this card is a poppy stamp by Artneko which don’t exist any more sadly.
Our Aussie shots are take this week, but not on walk, stopped the car on way back from post office, at our creek.
This beautiful palm is a coastal favourite of mine, only palm I really like.  It’s a Pandanus and to me it means where I live - we used to call them Breadfruit Trees when we were young. They’re sadly threatened by decimation from a native leaf hopper which is killing them up on Gold Coast.
This is a lovely golden banksia I had one of these in my yard but didn’t survive, sadly yet not dissimilar spot. So pretty.
And then the sunset views. That’s all from me everyone.
TEN WOYWW’s – indeed WOW!
Congratulations Julia & WOYWWers the world over!
HAPPY WOYWW 10!!
May God bless your day wherever you maybe, and thanks for popping over especially if you’ve time to say hi!
Hugs Shaz in Oz.x

Would you please kindly go into your Blogger Dashboard:

Thanks so very much 😊 ..especially if you’re one of few with POP UP WINDOW already.)

Hi there all!
Lobbing in quickly! Yes, somehow  it’s Wednesday again.. and time for WOYWW or What is On Your Workdesk Wednesday.
Pop over to Julia’s Stamping Ground to check out all the best crafty desks .. you learn soo much!
My desk this morning:
Well, it’s sort of cut off on left as hiding something I’m making, here I’ve started a new card, there’s a piece of watercolour paper with gold embossed flowers on it, partly water coloured with Distress inks, left over piece here.
Really enjoy them for water colour, they do-operate, don’t take much work.
Second desk is earlier when making card below.
First of all covered the water colour paper stamping “Penny Black Floral Cascade slapstick stamp”. Love this stamp, has been on desk last two weeks uninked. Did a wash with Finetec gold watercolour (at top) over background.
Decided to try two technique for colour. First used watercolour pencils, Aquarelle, by Caran d’Ache. Swiss brand, bought set of eighty on eBay years ago from a seller in Spain. Had my nephew check him out as know no Spanish. 😁
they’re beautiful to use, as watercolour can mix with water. However also wanted to try the DI which I will finish other piece left over and make two cards with leftovers stamped out.
Here’s the finished card saw it over on this blog here. I don’t have same products but used what I have.
Used a rose embossing folder, debossed on the top part.
The sentiment stamp is my favourite at moment from Sweet n Sassy from the Wait on Lord set.
Here are the Aussie shots in May last year, there is a sailing group that sails on a Thursday.
Am hopefully back walking soon as stitches on shin out today (YAY!) and left knee getting better too. 😊
Very grateful though that we have medical help here, when we need it.
Some do not in other countries.
Happy WOYWW everyone and God bless your day and keep you safe and well too.
Prayer hugs,
Shaz in Oz.x

Snippets + Tim Holtz Mixed Media Swirls Die - Two Ways

Hi there everyone. Have just made two more cards for birthdays or thinking of you cards, going to share how snippets make great cards. Was going to be quick card but in my usual way I’ve complicated it a tad.
First card was this one, it’s with left overs paper-pieced from card 2. Yes it was tedious I did an impression on white card so then like jigsaw just had to work out shape, had DST on back which helped.
And yes, I lost one teeny bit which I did a cheats job on and recut it. The greeting Die is CCD and double layers. The lovely rose Kaisercraft pad was a bargain buy after Christmas sales, finally used! Greeting stamp Gold EP is by Sweet Sassy “Wait on the LORD” clear set, disc. But may find one like I did, was my birthday pressie to myself in Feb 😊 also available as digi I think.
Added to this three little punched butterflies from more snippets. All card practically is snippets so off to the Snippets playground, yay!
Next card uses negative of die cut and the same greetings but different feel. The regal gold braid is stick-on courtesy of Shaz Silverwolf in 2016. Not much left now. Repeated Gold EP stamp on white snippet, gold snippets for double mount too.
Close up of detail.
The Aussie shots from earlier in year, a lovely sunset this evening was walking. It's cooler here now and sister at Hall's Gap drove through snow yest. It’s much warmer here, but still cool for us.
Well that’s it for today. Praying every blessing upon you in your day, and thanks for coming over and especially thanks if you have time to say hi.
Hugs Shaz in Oz.x
Thoughts for the day.
Going to share two quotes ... love them both. The first reflects the command the LORD gives us:
“In everything give thanks, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.”
Giving thanks comes from a grateful heart.

I’d like to join up with the following:

3. Word Art Wednesday - Anything Goes
http://sirstampalotchallenge.blogspot.com/2019/05/may-in-english-country-garden.html  English country garden theme on both cards.
5. Add something metallic. Gold EP on stamped greeting on both cards.. gold braid on second card.

Alcohol Yupo with Diecuts + WOYWW

hi there everyone... just where does a week go?..
Lobbing in very quickly cos it’s Wednesday and time for WOYWW or What is On Your Workdesk Wednesday.. pop over to Julia’s Stamping Ground to check out all the best crafty desks .. you learn soo much!
My desk this morning:
I was working on a card made from Yupo background back hereThe stamp from last week is still un-inked as wasn’t well and sitting with watercolour paper patiently waiting.
You can see stamp positioner was in use plus my T Ruler.
This I used to test if my stamp was straight in stamp positioner, as I was Stamping straight onto the finished card - yes, should’ve done it first.. but I didn’t. I stamped it on test scrap inside of an envelope. Thankfully on second go I had it right, used golden glitz brilliance ink as it wipes off stamp easily. Used Versamark and Fine Gold EP on card.
Here is the card completed.

I actually had this (a CCD) die cut done which was a blessing as not 100% and needed it ASAP for a birthday for one of our church missionaries. Looked good on inky Yupo (which BTW is a synthetic paper, can be used with many medium but great with Alcohol esp).

Love this stamp set, it’s KJV, my preference, by Sweet n Sassy, it’s discontinued but you might pick one set up like I did in old stock. Think its called "Wait on the Lord".

Now to the Aussie shots, still not walking so from photos in phone. You can whale watch from this lookout and the migration north has just started. And our autumnal days are as beautiful as this!
So blessed of God.
On personal note, stitches still in for another week, saw Dr re shin today, all cancer removed and non aggressive, biopsy on forehead fine. Much to be very thankful for indeed.
Happy WOYWW everyone, and may the Lord bless your day wherever you maybe, thank you especially if you have time to say hi.
Our day is nearly done here, 10 pm!

Distress Inks on Glossy Cardstock + WOYWW

Hi there everyone! 😁
Yesss!! ... another Wednesday is almost over here in Oz, so joining over with Julia over at The Stamping Ground for WOYWW  or What is On Your Workdesk Wednesday! Going to brief today, I’m not great, so mostly pickies from my desk last week and one this morning.
Desk one: watercolour technique with DI and gloss Card.
Saw this on someone's blog, but not clear how to do it. Found videos on You Tube - just put in "Distress inks with glossy cardstock". So cut gloss to size, from A4, chose 3 or 4 DI you want to use and smooch firmly and randomly wherever you want till whole sheet full, ** start obviously with light colours first.
After they’re well covered rub off surplus ink with plain serviette, softer than paper towel I think.
I worked out if not happy with colours you can spray water lightly to reactivate surface and re smooch inks. Two much better second time around. Wasn’t happy first time. ***If you don’t reactivate the inks don’t really layer well the second time around which is very interesting (this wasn't on videos I watched)
Today’s desk shows how much they fade or lighten (am saving these for WOYWW 10 hopefully). To right are piles of alcohol ink pieces, dies and the top Penny Black stamp is a NBUS. Saw brilliant idea somewhere last week I’m going to try with this .. have to do minimal exertion for three days, so won’t be this week. I craft standing up, not supposed to stand. I had cancer out on shin this afternoon. Also biopsy on forehead - just to even me out!!! 😆
Finished card, last weeks WOYWW  showed yupo and Alcohol inks ... this birthday card is for my lovely sister. I am really wondrously blessed in my family. I loved this alcohol piece, there are so many subtle tones as well as vivid shades on it. The Die is gumblossom from Ultimate Crafts - they've lots of Aussie flora fauna dies, etc. Really loved this card, and so didn’t not want to add a sentiment. It’s classic simplicity without it..
The Aussie photos are courtesy of a family member, who is down on south coast. Taken from their caravan spot, such pretty sunset and views. Nice and green too.
Well, that’s it for the day. I’m hoping to catch up with folks, manage everyone most weeks on WOYWW list but last week just folks who called + few extra.
Thanks for popping over especially if you take time to say hi. May God bless your day wherever you may be.
Hugs Shaz in Oz.x

Verse for the day struck me as particularly apt for myself, the abounding mercies of the Lord is so  VERY many, yet sometimes taken for granted !
Trust it blesses you also.
