Thank you for taking time to visit, and I hope I am even a tiny bit helpful as I have been helped and blessed by so many others. I have been doing Calligraphy since teens, and card making for many years as well. In 1990 I delighted in the joys of stamping with ink and embossing after a trip to Cairns, Qld. In 2009 I discovered the brayer, 2010 the Cuttlebug, also have now taking to reading up on crafting blogs and lo! Here I am, on one of my own.

I live on the coast of eastern Australia. I am a Christian. I trusted in the LORD down here at the beach, amazingly it is not far from where I now live. It was over 50 years ago, after a Beach Mission Service at the age of 12 years

GDT for Rudolph Day + WOYWW +NBUS#9 Challenge

{Warning - picture overload below }

Well, time for first of 2017 Scrappy Mo's Rudolph Christmas challenge, so this is a GDT post!!
And time to for WOYWW, or What is on your Workdesk Wednesday
PLUS time for NBUS #9 challenge - both technique and item
Where has January gone?? tomorrow is Australia day here- yay!

Firstly my card for Scrappy Mos Christmas challenge and for my NBUS #9 Use a new technique and new crafty item.
My snowflake cheap China die or CCD (to quote RosA of Paperchase) was smooched well with versamark, then embossed carefully on snippet of card in Cuttlebug with rubber mat. (for clear instructions on this technique see here, cards + video by clever Jennifer McGuire). It's called embossed impressions, was so impressed at the method love it, so been meaning to try it.
Heat embossed the versamarked die impression with gold embossing powder. The gold frame edging it was left over from another card with SB Pierced rectangles, gold embossed too,  stamped the ODB " Joy to the world"stamp on bottom with mini Misti.
TECHNIQUE + Snowflake are my NBUS!! Never Used Before Schtuff to quote Darnell!
Say special prayer for Darnell for 27th as she is having surgery on 27th, but like a real trooper she is going ahead with her NBUSes!
Next - To my desk! this morning .. a tip!
Items hidden from view cos its DT work, but you can see some detritus on the desk to guess some die cutting is afoot...  dies to left and other items. Have more interesting desk from two weeks ago, below.
This set of cards were made as gifts for various people and have either been given or posted to them already. Over on Christian Card Makers group on Facebook, there was a long challenge for January to make three cards from a selection of images.
I actually made three cards from one of the digis, and one card from one of the black and white images. The latter I decided to colour hence the first photo below.
Printed out black and white image then coloured it with inks and coloured pencils.
I  die cut it with Spellbinder pierced rectangles (reduced, rather than extended). Added black background to trimmed image. Then Die cut the 2nd largest die from SB Marvellous Square Dies, trimmed it down to make corners as shown here and below.

Added backgrounds made before with brayered embossing folders, CB Swirls and Bubbles folder. Thought they match the sea theme. These not used on another card, always handy to have.

Completed card used die cut from Spellbinder Exquisite labels eleven. Embossed verse is by Printblocks c.1995. a favourite verse for indeed WITH God all things are possible.
Snowy cards with oriental image of birds in a snow storm, love this image hence the three cards. I just have ordinary inkjet printer, but print on height resolution on special coated inkjet paper for clear, good quality images. EF Used is Taylored Expressions Snowfall, and silver snow flakes are lawn Fawn stitched snowflakes, both from Bizzy Bec's Online Store .

Used digi from WAW on first card, with CB snowflake folder debossed and smooched with inks Brilliance blue and silver.
The second card used both above folders and dies.
Third used the Snowfall on back, Lawn fawn stitched snowflakes + stamp, happy birthday from China stamp set on eBay.
Now the photos from Oz as you can see we are enjoying some amazing summery weather. First is the sea looking north from the north wall. the next two are what is colloquially called jetty jumping.. by the younger generation here for many years. the last one is the water park set up each day on the jetty beach the clambering and fun plus!

BTW - if you have made it to here, congratulations! and if you are interested I've shared brushos used with the brayer on the post below. 😉

Thanks everyone who has taken time to comment, you are really appreciated. Will return visits as soon as I can.
May God bless your day, every one - wherever you may be!

Morning Shaz. Your cards are simply beautiful. You have such a wonderful gift from our Father above! I love that embossing technique - have watched the video on the link - brilliant!
Thanks for your visit and your comments. The frames needed were actual, real-life, frames. I managed to source them when I went out with Mrs D on Saturday, thanks. I'm now hunting through my photos on my computer to choose some suitable ones for putting in these tiny frames. I had done one as a sample and chosen an image I took in Stanley Park, Vancouver - but, as the hotel is here in North Wales, I think there should definitely be some of Snowdon! Don't you??
Your Australian pics are lovely - well done.
Take care dear girl. God bless.

Hello my friend, What delightful cards you have made. The one you have coloured in yourself is amazing. I could not take my eyes away from it. Love the way the image was used finally, you have certainly got an eye for how to put cards together to make them rather special.
The dies you have used for framing your cards are beautiful and when I get home `I must look at what I have in my box and start spending a little more time on framing things as you do.
Now I need to look up the techniques you mention - that will keep me quiet for a while no doubt.
God B less, Neet 2 xx
ps glad I made you chuckle with my funny email

Some beautiful cards you've made here. The lighthouse image card I actually thought was ready with just the colored image, before die cutting it. With its beautiful coloring It could have worked as a one layer skinny sized card as well. The snowy birds loook fantastic. You made three cards at the same time, but with some variations, this is what I need to focus on doing for this year's Christmas cards, otherwise I will never get the amount of cards needed...

got to start with the photos of the beach - oh WOW!! your cards are fabulous, and I have serious pencil envy! Helen #1

Wow, what beautiful cards Sharon! I am loving that light house one, you have colored it so well!!! I also love the printed birds cards, they printed so well and made such beautiful cards. I love seeing the pictures of the beach and the jetty jumping! Indeed the jumping is for the younger crowd, but even in my younger days, I wouldn't have done that! Hate my head under the water. lol The water park set up looks like lots of fun too. What a great idea for fun at the beach!! Hugs, Brenda

Good morning, dearest Shaz! What a wonderful blog post, and I hope you had a wonderful Australia Day! Yay! I am always so intrigued by your cards...and in awe and cherish the one I have from you. I love the beautiful snowflake card and hopped over to re-read Jennifer's post (and pinned a card or two). What a beautiful lighthouse image that you've colored exquisitely. I love how you've completed the card and love the amazing black frame/matting. I love the egrets and the precious Scripture verse and other sentiments. And lastly, I love the photos of your beautiful beach and water. Oh, how I wish I could visit with you and just walk quietly and even dip our toes in the water. We love being on the coast as well, and I hope that someday (if we can figure out what is ailing me and preventing me from going in the sun) I can enjoy our beautiful beach and ocean. Thank you again for a lovely post, and I wish you a blessed day and send special hugs and love! Always! xoxo

Gorgeous Christmas cards Shaz, the Oriental birds in snow are so peaceful. Great colouring of the light house image too.

The photos from the seaside are wonderful, the joys of summer time is warming. We're having -2 degrees Celsius and the skies are grey.

The golden snowflake embossed as you've used the die is just so gorgeous. I love that technique, and have learned it makes a difference what kind of EP is used too! I love the gold against the soft creamy white, and of course your matting treatment adds so much to the design. Enjoyed all the pictures you've shared and the other wonderful art works in this post! TFS & Hugs too.
