Thank you for taking time to visit, and I hope I am even a tiny bit helpful as I have been helped and blessed by so many others. I have been doing Calligraphy since teens, and card making for many years as well. In 1990 I delighted in the joys of stamping with ink and embossing after a trip to Cairns, Qld. In 2009 I discovered the brayer, 2010 the Cuttlebug, also have now taking to reading up on crafting blogs and lo! Here I am, on one of my own.

I live on the coast of eastern Australia. I am a Christian. I trusted in the LORD down here at the beach, amazingly it is not far from where I now live. It was over 50 years ago, after a Beach Mission Service at the age of 12 years

Use Die as a Stencil + Mixed Gilding Flakes - Bizzy Bec's

Trust you're enjoying a God-blessed, family time this Easter, everyone -  as we remember the greatest gift given, of our Lord Jesus! Who gave His life for us, arose victoriously on Resurrection day.. yes, and He lives that we too might live, by faith in Him!
To my card .. a peek!
Am re-visiting the new technique from earlier this month where I've used a die to make stencil.
1. I took the * Pre-order Sizzix Thinlets Mixed Media #2 Die set - used the swirl from this set, and die cut a scrap of cardstock from cereal box, hey presto, disposable stencil!! 👍
2. Then made a disposable sponge, see below - cut folded piece of new cheap kitchen sponge, attached a handle with folded card, stapled on. 😉 Dabbed carefully,. #working from top to bottom. This was very detailed die cut stencil. The spaces where it is bit "floaty" in middle needed more care.
3. Glue used was the Cosmic shimmer flitter glue. Very tacky.
Leave for 20 to 30 mins to set, otherwise flakes don't adhere properly.
I attach it like I do my real 23 carat gold leaf in calligraphy, lay it loosely over sticky area and smooth it carefully around in circular motion and push it on with very gentle finger tips. Have the Gilding flakes scrubby, but I do not like it.
Then remove excess flakes with soft fairly-sizeable paintbrush, buff the glorious shine well, again with soft pressure, in circular motion (see image). Remove excess flakes, empty into containers.
4. Used more Silver than earlier card, just a little of Egyptian Gold Glitter Flakes. Smoothed it off well, with fingers or brush.
5. With ink duster added the soft shading with Distress Ink Chipped Sapphire ink pad. Oh, this is such a gorgeous colour (**Distress Ink - Available from Bec upon request).
I wanted to highlight the swirl so used water based ink rather than dye ink.
Used *Pre-order Memory Box Vivienne Butterfly Die, and the inside greeting of *Pre-order Sue Wilson Just For You Ornate Oval Die.
6. Cut both out ... double layering the greeting, and decided to colour the DP with the DI Chipped Sapphire it nice deep contrast.
7. Die cut the sheet with *Pre-order Spellbinder Pierced Rectangles. Truly Bec has the best prices around.. this versatile rectangle set is so unbelievably priced!!! check it out!!! Finished card, added some bling to butterfly but just let the swirl show under the butterfly love dit so much didn't want to cover it up.
I love this card, has a different look to my earlier neutral shaded card Over here!  but shall be doing this again. I do love the effect. .. and minimal cleaning up with disposable home made tools.

Okay, so a pineapple update! the image of smallest baby was taken on 22nd March, three weeks ago. Next on right, was taken a week ago. As you can see we have more than one baby on the way, the first one was first take here -  mid December 2016. I think this smaller baby is going to be much bigger as it started as huge for a baby, due to the mammoth rainfall we've had I am sure.
To see a Pineapple growing from start to end see this post here. Both these new growths are from pineapple which were grown on the mother plant in background of last shot. Each successive top was replanted so have wee patch now!
Thanks so very much for popping over for a peek and a chat...

Bizzy Becs DT Post: Our Daily Bread Stamps - The Sea single

Hi everyone - big excitement here is my very first mid month post with a tutorial for Bizzy Bec's store blog.
There is also a monthly challenge with a die or stamp prize over here - it is anything goes and is posted worldwide - so do join in please do!
Here is a step by step guide on making a male card - have found they can be tricky, but actually beginning to enjoy them now! I used the Our daily bread Stamp - The Sea Single stamp (link here).

Have the masked image, masked so could extend colouring at bottom of image for reason I will share.
I stamped in Black Onyx Versafine ink and embossed it, did several in case one was a dud but all turned out nicely so bonus! Then I coloured with my Pencils (Prismacolors this time as have several sets) and ink for the sky and the sandy colouring. Used a hand cut cloud mask and Ranger round ink distressing tool (see link here) to get the colouring on the clouds. .
I added some stones from our pebble garden, sand from the side of our house (our house is built on sandy area, very handy crafty wise) .. that's why the teaspoon is there, to spoon on sand. I used embossing paste to attach sand, and Matte medium by Ranger for the pebbles and wee shells from my collection. Some of these came from a visit to Phillip Island in Victoria years ago now, and some from here.
This icecream cardboard box was a great sandy coloured card so used it!
So distressed the embossed card first with distressing tool. Then applied randomly various inks the Tim Holtz Woodgrain Embossing folder by Sizzix. (Link here). Used as you can see some DI as well, Faded Jeans, Spiced Marmalade and Antique Linen (great useful colour this one). I actually just smooched the ink pads directly on and rubbed them around with my fingers but off course less messy to use sponge applicator :D
Use Spellbinder Fleur de Lis Square (link here). I cut largest die for the sea image and cut the pieces of black card into four pieces to make corners.
Here is the finished image, mounted as shown on the flur de lis corners .
Also used * burlap (fringed one side - link here)
Blue card embossed with CB Bubbles Embossing folder. "60" in corner cut with Olivia Alphabet die set (discontinued).
Digi greeting for happy birthday, printed on shiny card. If you use a shiny or really smooth surfaced card you are able to heat emboss it:
1. Smooth over surface to be printed on with embossing buddy
(see how to make one here) before printing 2. As soon as out of printer add clear EP and heat set quickly. Die cut with Victorian Rectangles.

Well, I'm delighted to welcome new wonderful encouragers ..
Wow! these do some imaginative stamping and card making!
.... so do pop over to their blogs and give them some encouragement!

Positive + Negative Use of Die cuts + WOYWW

Well, here we are in middle of another week also time for WOYWW Or What is On Your Workdesk Wednesday - Julia's blog at the Stamping Ground is home base for WOYWW, over here.
To my desk..  late Monday, as it is clear now, a bit boring.
Those of WOYWW might remember seeing this Elizabeth Crafts Quietfire die over on Shazsilverwolf's blog about a month ago. Well, loved it, hunted for it and found it overseas, but way out of my price range. Recently sourced here in Tasmania for good price, plus cheap post cost so arrived Monday, had to use it that day!!  It is big die but I knew that. Here am using it on a piece of photo paper made ages ago, which was ink smooched with DI + then lightly damp, crumpled cling wrap was laid over it.
After cutting the die (had to turn it a few times as had sticky paper on back) decided to use both positive and negative, too nice to waste negative. Lightly embossed the die so could see where to put the negative bits.. rather like a jigsaw puzzle, fun!
This is the positive, a very small card (14.5 x 10.5cm), as small as I make them so thought it was good way to test this die. Used also the teeny snippet left for a border with Scallop die. EF is Lattice by Sizzix. Entering this in my as my third NBUS, over at NBUS Challenge no. 5 - woohoo!!
Simple card, with rounded top corners and piece of green gold mesh underneath.
Well, it is spring downunder, so a few Aussie photos. This is single Italian lavender bush under dwarf Eureka lemon tree, dwarf because the way it is pruned. Huge lavender is good insect repellent for lemon tree. The bees love it and lemon flowers too. Aren't they a pretty flower?

A big welcome to three new friends also who have become Wonderful Encouragers of this blog - Swissie of Swissie's World, met Swissie's though Cuttlebug Mania. http://livfrische48.blogspot.com.au
I met Jeanne J. over at Darnell's .. this wonderful lady helped arrange Darnell's amazing array of prizes for NBUS challenge, she has an instructive blog called A Kept Life.

so please pop over and give them some encouragement today! if you kindly join this blog please let me know so can link over too.. ta!

Well, thanks so much everyone for popping over for peek an chat.. will return visit as soon as able; things are busy til weekend.
May God bless your day wherever you maybe!

WOYWW + Yellow Red Black OSA Challenge - Plastic Wrap Ink variation

(warning ~ picture heavy, etc.)
 Hullo there everyone.
Before go further just want to announce that finally did the promised PanPastel post down below - so if you want to see it please scroll down or click here - have methods + tips there.
Well, another big BLINK!! and here we are ready for another mid week blog hop on WOYWW, starting over at our hostess’ Julia’s blog - to all the wonderfully inspiring desks around the world. Come and join in the fun at Julia's Stamping Ground!  Having some wonderful inky fun here .. over at OSA Card Layout Challenges
they have a colour challenge using  Red, Yellow Black.
Desk 1 - the night before. I was playing the Barbabra Gray Plastic wrap method - but changed it ( see here for original method)
I used gloss card as she did but used Distress inks not dye (as best red and yellow were DI). Did not brayer but added the ink onto gloss card straight from pad, covering most of white gloss card randomly - adding more red than yellow.
I laid down the water-spritzed crumpled up cling wrap, evening out the colour spread, removing any bubbles. Left it then removed plastic after five mins of drying (not completely dry, just partially). Resulting in no wrinkles as with proper method - the colours, because they were DI, become quite washed out when dry. But have just covered the dry sheets again with neat yellow ink from pad, it then popped all back to life, as shown!
desk 2.Here they are dried - to left of desk working out the stamped images am going to use, as you can see the end result is softer and almost natural looking.
late 1990's, discontinued but the small unmounted peace Kanji (middle far right) is from Artneko stamps. Two wooden stamps are from Australia in
Wanted a feature embossed piece. Lightly spritz the black card before embossing to get deeper impression, but heat dried it before wet embossing (Sizzix leaves - Embossing Folder) with black card. Used Versamark and red embossing powder, had to double emboss to cover surface area with the lovely molten gloss.
Here are the two finished cards - first is plainer, has rounded corners (as suddenly found my punch :D from Fred Aldous, Man. UK ) + handmade paper from Paperchase, also in Manchester, UK :D
This one has the EK Success arrow punch on side and few other features.
Will close with our local scene down at our creek (5 mins from here) near the railway bridge. Notice the two surf skis to right in distance, they are standing up. I think they will be sitting down when they hit the rougher water near the mouth of the creek in the distance.
May God bless you day everyone, thanks so very much for popping over for a peek and chat ~  and a very happy WOYWW!
