Thank you for taking time to visit, and I hope I am even a tiny bit helpful as I have been helped and blessed by so many others. I have been doing Calligraphy since teens, and card making for many years as well. In 1990 I delighted in the joys of stamping with ink and embossing after a trip to Cairns, Qld. In 2009 I discovered the brayer, 2010 the Cuttlebug, also have now taking to reading up on crafting blogs and lo! Here I am, on one of my own.

I live on the coast of eastern Australia. I am a Christian. I trusted in the LORD down here at the beach, amazingly it is not far from where I now live. It was over 50 years ago, after a Beach Mission Service at the age of 12 years

Polished stone + Artneko stamps + His Eye is On The Sparrow

Hullo all,
Over at OSA (Oriental Stamp art) this month's technique is Polished Stone. See here for a post I did on it some time back now. it has lots more detail. This was to have been my desk for WOYWW two weeks back, but time and unwellness beat me.
Here is my Polished Stone, which this month's Technique. Used the polished stone adapted to my stash items.
I had some alcohol blender, alcohol inks and some regular inks, and spread inks around roughly with cottonwool balls. Then overlaid with plastic wrap
(spritzed lightly inside with water, crinkled up then spread out) to finish off ink spread...
Dried photo paper with heat gun. As I was heavy handed with ink on one sheet I thought I would try to buff the photo paper with wet wipes..
Wow!! was it ever like polished stone???
Anyway here are two images.. one has has two sheets made and other is card.

Stamps are a new set from Artneko - they are so good to work with, so beautifully cut, love them!
here they are here. You dont have to buy whole sheet, they can be bought individually
I really love the verse "Be still and know that I am God" .. it is here in front of me on small piece of timber on my computer desk.
And oh how we need it.. if we don't know the LORD we need to be still that we may come to know Him.. especially in His word.. if we are followers of Jesus then we need to be still that we may follow and listen to "His still, quiet voice".
Thanks so much for popping over for a peek and a chat. Commenting wise, etc. is quiet due to health for a while. I really appreciate yours and will try and make it up when health matter is sorted.
May God bless your day wherever you may be,

Mrs A's Inaugural Butterfly Challenge

Hullo one and all another very quick post as felt needs must make the effort to join our Playground pal Mrs A's "Inaugural Butterfly Challenge".Actually when just popped over was delighted at how many of our (Dis Snippet's) playmates were over there! What splendid pals they all are!
Here is my ultra quick card. I needed a quick "Get well" card for a dear lady (in her 80's, broke her femur - so praying for speedy recovery, please Lord).
The Inaugural Butterfly #1 Challenge requires us to use two flowers and two butterflies on it.. and does not have to be a card can be many media. Just see Mrs A.'s lovely examples on link. I used K Kingdom Butterfly and Leaves E.F. Verse from WAW using labels 4. Purple snippet was pearlised with frosty mauve ink. Cut flowers and stem from Olivia Alphabet CB die set, with two punched butterflies.
Of course embossing folder has about four or five peeking on it and used my butterfly watermark too so think there are enough butterflies for a butterfly challenge! :D
Again apologies for not commenting as much as want, as should not be on here anyway.. but do sneak in sometimes :D Thanks so very much for popping over for a peek and chat.
You do cheer my heart, may God bless and keep you all safe wherever you may be.

PS meant to say joining over with Snippet Challenge (purple snippets) and Word Art Wednesday (Anything goes) where the digi stamp of verse is from .. I need it too at the moment.
Isaiah 40:31 But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

Craft A Scene + Our Daily Bread stamp

Hullo there one and all... just a very quick post.. over at "Craft a Scene" they have the challenge " Use your favourite technique".
So here is my take on it, a C.A.S card.
Steps 1.Cut and oval mask with die - mask off on scrap piece of white card
2. Stamp the scene - in this case used "the Sea" from Our Daily Bread as it was for my sea-loving B.i.L.

3. Colour scene image with PanPastels - take care not to lay too much around edges.
4. Tidy up around oval once mask is removed then emboss in Oval EF by "Forever friends - Black & Gold" .
Spray generously with hair spray to set the pastels.
5. Add birthday greeting (Artneko see here) stamped on scrap cad and mount on snippet of black and likewise for main image then attach to card - now is complete.
I love using pastels and they surpirse me constantly how versatile they are. Just in middle of making a card where focal image is with Prismacolours, and background is PP - works like a dream! (for a PanPastel tutorial see here - with vellum see here.
Thanks so much for popping over for a peek and a chat. Commenting wise, etc. things maybe a bit quiet due to health for a while. However do have posts in the wings.
May God bless your day wherever you may be,

And I will be sharing one of two using my favourite P107 as well !! Share your all time favourite crafting item by entering a piece of artwork using it, it can be a stamp, dies, fabric, colouring medium, just whatever you find you return to time and again. And I will be sharing one of two using my favourite P107 as well !!..........
On 5th March I will do a random draw of all entries for seven winners who will all receive two sets of dies.....
So here is one or two of my favourite much-used things!!
Firstly it is the Fleur de Lis labels 8 die.. how many times is this my "go to" die??
Secondly it is the Word Art Wednesday Bible digital verses (which are by Karen see her blog here  mostly for free here .. I love Karen's verses ~ so well done!).
I use them, praying as I go seeking to choose ones that will meet the needs of the heart for the ones for whom they are intended.
God's word has more power than any other word.
Looking through my posts both these items appear frequently!
Also a favourite of mine are roses.. sadly do not use that often. This beautiful digi paper by Donna of Bearly My Designs.
So that s my offering for today. Happy 5th anniversary B. and thank you dear friend for the great blessing of your blog and your encouragement as well! Thank you for those who kindly comment and will reply as able,

Masking with Stamping + PanPastels ~ OSA Challenge

Hullo there everyone!
Before I start, I am very sorry for poor return of all your wonderful comments, not been 100%. also a special welcome to one of the newbies to my blog Wonderful Encouragers.. and can find her blog and have joined - it is Sian of Handmade by Sian. Check these two cards out !
A few weeks back we had a challenge over at OSA (Oriental Stamp Art - Yahoo group), and it was a card from Splitcoasters for the inspiration. Was simply like the first card below: a white base using two stamps, with masked section, two black lines with sentiment. So this became a leaping off point for a number of cards, but only entered the first two.
I love to stamp with Versamark (see post explaining it here) and apply using cotton balls (and a light touch) with Chalks and PanPastels. This is how focal image is done here: Unknown UM blossom stamp and birthday greeting is from Artneko. Dragonfly is SU Oriental set.
The is a clear Penny black leaf stamp, (and oh it drives me crazy! it will not stamp in central part of image, even on foam mat.. have to remove from clear block.. am tempted to use Ez-mount to fix it but then you cant see through it ) decided liked them mounted rather than total CAS.
Then wandered onto using die cut for a mask and working with an oval image.
This is Oriental stylised Wave stamp from Artneko, never used it. One night when could not sleep the light went on (figuratively :D) and thought how to use it.. seagulls stamp is from Stampscapes

In the CAS (clear and simple) style one layer - however decided needed a birthday card; not enough room for greeting and still have it balance so re-cut and mounted it below. Used again Artneko Oriental "Happy Birthday" - really love this stamp as they etch their stamps so beautifully and you rarely miss a good image with them.
(EDIT: this card won top three at PanPastel challenge :D very nice indeedy!)
Thought how nicely this one would be and so below is the Stamping Up Oriental set (discontinued) plus Panpastels with both of these. With masks have to watch dont overload tool with pastel as you get residue edge around oval etc. It will rub out but less is more, I found.
Again liked it remounted on fine black edged white card.
Many thanks for popping over for a peek and chat.. and will comment as able (as not been 100% and so not computer much sorry for everyone who are kind enough to say hi)! May God bless you wherever you may be!

Embossed Vellum + PanPastels + WOYWW

Hullo there everyone. First of all a big welcome and thank you to my new Encouragers - that is just what you do, encourage, thank YOU! unhappily they dont have blogs so cant join theirs and link over.
For those who may have arrived here from elsewhere – WOYWW is the most amazing blog hop on the planet and hosted by our marvellous Julia at her blog here. Please do join peeking at the desks of the world, and learn much! Nothing to do with being a sticky beak - mm, well, mostly not!
Ah, here is my desk this morning... a card finished and one on the make.. For 2014 the motto a little adapted from Darnell is to use NBUS - ie use "Never Before Used Schtuff"! or my adaption "Not Much Used Before Schtuff". Top drawer is opened cos sometime back, Maggie C. asked show inside set of drawers. (and happened to be open anyway)
Top drawer: left to right - small white gel pens, glue pens, etc., fine point pens eraser brushes of varying sizes, scissors, bone embossing tools
Below it is Wave card (already posted this afternoon to nephew) made with Artneko stamp given, but never used before (will blog it later). On right is Manhattan Rose folder in PanPastels and vellum, a NBUS too. Other needful tools scissors, (red ribbon on scissors to see them easily) ATG and 7" guillotine.
Now at bottom front - right are some dominoes I think?? triangle ones given by a crafter but have no idea why or what you do with them??
Here using the three colours to get shade I want with PanPastels, red, mauve, and white.. learnt they mix well and can make endless shades so get the basics and you are right...
Carded up Manhattan Rose EF with vellum; on back have coloured with ink dauber the shades wanted. Cut out and glue down. Card is Strathmore and two piece top has the vellum and the MS Layered Arches Punch, masked off and coloured it, as well as deckle edge of card. Already posted off to Japan. Verse is a Word Art Wednesday free digi, die is Spellbinders Petite Ovals.
Here is the Australian shot of the day.. a bottle brush in soft salmon pink (Callistemon Pink Champagne) sooo pretty. Have shown our white one before - and fixed link now: White bottlebrush (and other fauna)
Many thanks for popping over for a peek and chat.. and will comment as able (no WOYWW number, I'm not able)! Happy WOYWW every one  and may God bless you wherever you may be!

Magical Micas + Tissue scrunch method.

Hullo there everyone..
Well, some folks take ages to make up things and then show them and this is the case here!!
Ages ago now I had posted this on my desk here:
 On this post I wrote:
"On left is the scrunch up a tissue method and dampen down with water spritzer apply the medium, re-spray and put up to dry (unfortunately the picture does not do the shimmery sheen of the mica's justice). If you want to see these methods check this post out here on clever Kate's great blog. I know the crumpled tissue looks very weird at present but think it will card up ok!"
First attached the sheet of tissue to light white card, then die cut them out carefully.
I used Labels Eight from Spellbinder as this left the most of the tissue to show. I cut an outline in black to highlight it. Unfortunately the amazing glimmer from the Micas does not photograph well.

I accidentally gave away one of the two cards before I photographed it. :( The two cards had been sitting on my desk since I finished them, atop my wee drawer set. So here is the one which is finished that I still  have, but it is earmarked for someone too :D

The stamped image is a SU set discontinued, trimmed to fit Fleur de Lis label eight die. Folder is one from CB Oriental set. as it is mostly snippets on this card popping over to the playground might just squeak in those gates in time.. and join up with Word Art Wednesday.

Many thanks every one of you for popping over for a peek and chat (you make my day) and may God bless your day wherever you may be!
