Well, a really great day here again.. 6:30pm as I write. This weekend was Uncle Ted's 80th. All the paternal side of the family were in town, what fun - lovely summery weather, too.
To my desk!
My desk this morning and really no more done on it. I set it up like this before went to bed last night as wanted to remind myself was was supposed to do today. The new Darkroom Door Gum tree stamp set (needing to cut it up hence the rubber scissors out) set from Bizzy Bec's, with Memento ink pads for sunset view with brayer background, hence ink blending mat, and gloss card. Few points to note: **brayer now is always stored in plastic bag as found little bits of dust would give imperfect brayer results ***never store it lying on the rubber - as you can get a slight flattening of the rubber. Hang from handle or store upside down. The completed PB card at the back on this post here. |
A view you rarely see of my desk .. it is a standing desk, as like to stand when crafting, but as you can see do have a tall office chair to perch on when wanted. Covered this chair with old curtain material, as it was red - see post back here. Brown timber showing under desk at the back is fold up table (freebie). Have set of 12" x12 plastic drawers at left, a glass door cardstock cupboard (freebie) on right which has my rubbish bin on top with cutters and guillotine. |
A run of birthdays here, this was on my desk two weeks ago, a card for my friend birthday on Sunday too. Used Spellbinders Exquisite Labels 11, and the Nicecrane Rose image was printed up ages ago, cut with SB Labels 11. Greeting (by ODB Discontinued Mini tag) stamped in Versamark + gold EP. |
Made these for some cousins at the weekend. So masked the circle off on each of them, then with Inkylicious dusters added colours by Hero arts, small cubes of Butter bar, Orange Soda, and Tide Pool. Oriental stamp by SU with Black Onyx Versafine + clear EP. |
The Aussie shots of the day are down at the North Rock Wall here protecting our harbour and marina - on another icecream Sunday afternoon stroll, you can tell it is summer here still. If you are freezing still or in wet weather hope these shots cheer your day. We actually had an inch of rain overnight in a summer storm, but haven't had much rain so far for 2016.

There is another "Neet" - and I thought I was pretty exclusive - must check her blog out.
Well Shaz, first of all thank you for the photos of the ocean, lovely on a wet morning in the north of England. Am sure you remember those mornings from when you were over here - how I wish your relatives still lived in Manchester and you were visiting again. Would be nice to have you visit.
Thanks for the information on the lining but it is not sinking in at the moment so I will be back to examine more closely when I am fully awake. Got a cold so am not operating on all cylinders today.
Take care my friend
Blessings

Morning Shaz. Thanks for the sunshine - it's wild, wet and windy here this morning! Your cards are so lovely - well done.
Great sideways shot of your standing area - it's good to see folk's desks differently sometimes.
Take care. God bless.

thx for all the tips. Happy WOYWW from Vicky#8
You have some beautiful items on your desk this week (a standing one huh, that's good for your health!). I like the Roosters and the Oriental bird cards...they made me smile as did the beautiful shots of the warm sea....sigh...... :-)

I'm always so happy to visit and this morning you have given me a bit of info I did not know about when I'm linking! Thanks so much and I will continue to use this info! I'm love your space and the cards are gorgeous. Also those photos of the ocean make my heart sing! Glenda #36
I did notice you using the die you won from my blog! I think you have used it way more than I ever used my own. Go girl!

Hi, gorgeous photos and thanks for the info on links, first time I did one last week so now know where I went wrong, LOL
Love the colour of your chair, I am very partial to purples
Happy WOYWW jan no 43
Morning Shaz, Well it's a wet and windy one here today. Nothing like your photos. Your desk looks fun. I like the look of those stamps and the red and blue cockerels too.
What a lovely selection of cards you've made. They're all lovely Shaz, including those on your desk. I was surprised to hear that you stand to craft. I only stand up to stamp.
Thanks for your tip on links. I used it this morning. yippeee!
Hugs,
Barbxx
Oooh, Shaz, bless you for sharing, can you send us some of that lovely sunshine, it is so grey and miserable here, but your pictures of the ocean really cheered me up.
I like those cockerels on your desk, what are they?
that tree stamp set looks brilliant, but I do so little stamping, i don't need to covet anymore.
Thanks for visiting my site, and your nice remarks.

Sounds like you've been enjoying family celebrations....life should be full of days like that.
Fab makes this week and your photos are stunning.
Hope you have a great week.

oooh, that Summer-feel photos do cheer up my day indeed! I'm longing for Spring and hope it will arrive soon in Europe! Thanks for the tip about storing brayers, I do have trouble with mine and not storing it right may be the cause... Happy woyww and a hug from Holland, Marit 34
Beautiful cards and lovely views!! Have a great day.
Diane - WOYWW #38
Thanks for the Aussie pictures - they are beautiful!
You've been very busy with the cards. Of all I see on your desk I have to admit to loving the hedgehog card. Love hedgehogs. I collect hedgehogs.
Have a great week

Hi Shaz, I do love those 'clean and simple' cards of yours- they are so lovely. May be ' caseing' them! I must check what happens with my link, or if I already have the box ticked- thank you for sharing that. Sometimes we have a bit of knowledge, and think everyone must know it, but in sharing we discover a lot didn't so we've helped some people.Have a great week, Hugs, Shaz #5 xxx
I had to go and check but my blog is set up to go in another window for links :) I do hate it when a blog takes you somewhere else and then you have to back track and the blog has to reload. Love that rose bouquet image and the framing of it all! The cards for your cousins are so pretty, and like how you made it a one layer card.
Yes your beach scenes always warm me up, thankfully we are in the 60's and 70's Fahrenheit for this week so that is sweet, bummer we also have cloudy rain days too but I will take the warmth that's for sure!
Beautiful cards. You are so well organized. I enjoy viewing your Wednesday work desk.
Good morning, Shaz. Thanks for your earlier visit. There is a pick there now and it is far from tidy. LOL. Fighting a head cold so running behind in my post. Thanks for the tip about the brayer. Off to put it in a bag (free of cat hair) and hang on the door. Off to visit a few desks then take cold meds and tuck back into bed. Creative Blessings! Kelly #61ish
Hi Shaz, thanks for the visit to mine. Gorgeous photos and love the cards but still not sure about the link thing. I have used this when linking to another blog but are you linking something in your own blog. Sorry if I'm a bit thick with this. Have a lovely woyww and happy crafting, Angela x 19
Love the cards!!
The sunny sea view is lovely, especially as a lot of our village is flooded from all the rain we've had!!

Lovely photos of that big bathtub y'all call the sea (so much water!). Thanks for sharing a shot of the standing desk. We like to see it all you know. It looks like a good play day is a'coming. PJ #60
interesting tips about the brayer... never cleaning it causes some interesting effects too... the paint builds up!! great cards and great photos of the ocean again. Helen #21
Beautiful scenes!!!
Lovely cards Shaz!
Thank you for sharing over at Allsorts "Women's day".

The weather looks gorgeous especially as I have been trudging around central London in the rain this afternoon! On a bit of industrial espionage! Love the oriental looking cards. Ali #68
Happy wwoyd and the cards are beautiful and I also have raised my table as I seem to get more done standing then sitting. Going to have to keep my Breyer in a plastic bag thanks for the great tip. Also wow the pictures of such a great day to for me I am hoping the snow melts and we don't get anymore the pat is in the forecast. ~Anne L
What a great blogpost today. Lots to see. I love your purple covered chair. I used the link and looked at the chair when it was still red. My chair is red too, but then I don't have a purple carpet, lol.
Loving the beautiful photos of the sea and the gulls. Yes, it has brightened my day, thanks.
Your cards are stunning, especially the ones with the little birdie on the bamboo. Classy!
Sorry I´m late. I had my new computer today and I have been fiddling about with that but now I have everything going. (I am typing this on my new keyboard, which is Spanish, so I am constantly looking for things that are in a different place). I still have to sort out the printer and some speakers, but the system works!
Have a great week and thanks for visiting me earlier.
Lisca
Thanks for the welcome Sharon.
Oh gosh! You are soooooo organised setting everything out the night before. I wish I was that good.
Fabulous cards. Particularly love the ones for your cousins with those dreamy inky backgrounds.
Fab Ozzie shots too.

I don't get that option when I make a link....wonder why? Beautiful Sunday afternoon shots of the water, what a blissful view! I love that you lay the table for what you want to do the next day...and Tuesday's inclusion of those three ink pad colours is lovely!
Beautiful scenes of the beach Shaz. It has rained so much here today - and I had to go out :-( Lovely cards and I enjoyed seeing a different shot of your desk. Thanks for visiting me - I still need to get the memory card for the camera - it didn't come woth one as such and I just seem to have been unable to get round to it :-) - I am hoping it will all become a lot easier - thanks for the instructions :-) Anne x #32
Great image and design of your lovely flowery card Shaz and some wonderful photo's too.
Thank you for joining our International Woman's Day challenge this week at Allsorts.

Shaz you are just wonderful for all the millions of links I've done do you think I've ever read the link thing NOPE!! I just right click open in a new window lol
I've updated my blog to do that from now on and Great cards love the shading in the backgrounds of the ones you made for your cousins
hugs Nikki 3
Great cards Shaz :) I have the Inkylicious brushes and I love them, find them much easier than blending foam.
Thanks for joining me at my little blog and your lovely comments.
Hugs, Kaz x
A lovely feminine floral card Shaz and love those birds as well, many thanks for joining us at Allsorts this week.

Lovely card for the CB challenge Shaz! Thanks for playing along with those beautiful roses.

Wow, love your masked stamping!
I'm in hurry today... but I wanted say you that I'm so glad for your comment and following my blog. Now I follow you, too! :D
Hugs, have a beautiful day!
Lovely view of your creative space, Shaz. Very pretty wallpaper and table covering! Your masked cards are stunning - so delicate and pretty.
Thank you for your visit and your nice comment. Feeling very tired today and if I'm to make it to KnitterNatter tonight (our church craft group) I doubt I shall do any guitar practice today. First day I've missed since I started! I've been far too busy recently and suffering for it. Anyway, my small operation wound is healing well and is only tender to the touch now so I no longer need pain killers. It is still strange not having the port in my chest any longer!
Happy belated WOYWW,
Shoshi #53
I love seeing where you create Sharon!! I also love your colorful chair, even if you don't sit in it much. It is just so fun looking. Thank you for teaching us about the link thing. I didn't know that!!! Used to be we didn't have to check that box, or at least I never did and my links would open in a new window. I guess a change that I never caught on to! Bad me!! But now I know, so can make it so my links open in a new window. I don't like it either when I am redirected to a link from the blog I'm visiting. Cause then I'm clicking and clicking to get back to the blog. So thank you, thank you thank you! I'm glad your Uncle's 80th party went well and that lots of relatives where there. It sounded like a great time was had by you all. I love your beautiful cards. The second ones make me think of your beach photos. Which are stunning by the way. Gosh it must be so nice living by these beautiful views. Even though I'm not much of a ocean person, I sure do love to look at it. lol I think you are so blessed my friend to have such amazing views and areas to walk and have ice cream! Hugs, Brenda
Thanks for sharing your desk!
I see some very cute cards there...
My chair crashed just a few minutes ago so my hubby throw it out.
Now sitting on a kitchen chair. Not comfy at all!
Hope you´ll have a great weekend!
Sussie, nr 44 WOYWW, sorry for being late...
Beautiful cards, beautiful scenery....what more can I say? :O)
Some gorgeous cards here, Shaz. I especially love the oriental birds cards.
I love the background on your set of cards. It's so soft and cute. Lovely stamps as well. Thank you for joining Simon Monday Challenge this wek.
What a fun post to read!Love your set of cards, too!
Great post with lots of inspiration and pretty photos. Noticed the trio of bird cards. Simple and so stunning.
The cards are awesome and nice view on those pics. We are so blessed with your participation in our previous Challenge and would love to have you back for our current Challenge at Word Art Wednesday. I want to share with you the inspiration of God's Word from Habakkuk 2:3-4 and it says, " For the revelation awaits an appointed time; it speaks of the end and will not prove false. Though it linger, wait for it; it will certainly come and will not delay. “See, the enemy is puffed up; his desires are not upright— but the righteous person will live by his faithfulness---." Have an awesome week!
