Thank you for taking time to visit, and I hope I am even a tiny bit helpful as I have been helped and blessed by so many others. I have been doing Calligraphy since teens, and card making for many years as well. In 1990 I delighted in the joys of stamping with ink and embossing after a trip to Cairns, Qld. In 2009 I discovered the brayer, 2010 the Cuttlebug, also have now taking to reading up on crafting blogs and lo! Here I am, on one of my own.

I live on the coast of eastern Australia. I am a Christian. I trusted in the LORD down here at the beach, amazingly it is not far from where I now live. It was over 50 years ago, after a Beach Mission Service at the age of 12 years

WOYWW, Open Link in New Window on Blogger, Masked Background Stamping

Well, a really great day here again.. 6:30pm as I write. This weekend was Uncle Ted's 80th. All the paternal side of the family were in town, what fun - lovely summery weather, too.
To my desk!
My desk this morning and really no more done on it. I set it up like this before went to bed last night as wanted to remind myself was was supposed to do today. The new Darkroom Door Gum tree stamp set (needing to cut it up hence the rubber scissors out) set from Bizzy Bec's, with Memento ink pads for sunset view with brayer background, hence ink blending mat, and gloss card.
Few points to note:
**brayer now is always stored in plastic bag as found little bits of dust would give imperfect brayer results
***never store it lying on the rubber - as you can get a slight flattening of the rubber. Hang from handle or store upside down. The completed PB card at the back on this post here.
A view you rarely see of my desk .. it is a standing desk, as like to stand when crafting, but as you can see do have a tall office chair to perch on when wanted. Covered this chair with old curtain material, as it was red - see post back here. Brown timber showing under desk at the back is fold up table (freebie). Have set of 12" x12 plastic drawers at left, a glass door cardstock cupboard (freebie) on right which has my rubbish bin on top with cutters and guillotine.
An addition to my post - as few folks dont know this, so thought would inform all WOYWW-ers in case you may not know this.
When you use a "link" widget in your blog (see above) you need to select the wee box under the link which says "open link in new window".
The reason being when you click on a link on your blog, without selecting "new window option", it takes the visitor away from your blog!
Annoying and negative use of your blog.

1. So go into actual post as shown above.. when you click on the "link" tab the link box comes up..
2. And under the link there is a teeny box -  to "open link in new window".
3. Click and select that box. It will stay selected till you deselect it.(Sorry if you know, but just helps those who don't).
A run of birthdays here, this was on my desk two weeks ago, a card for my friend birthday on Sunday too. Used Spellbinders Exquisite Labels 11, and the Nicecrane Rose image was printed up ages ago, cut with SB Labels 11. Greeting (by ODB Discontinued Mini tag) stamped in Versamark + gold EP.
Made these for some cousins at the weekend. So masked the circle off on each of them, then with Inkylicious dusters added colours by Hero arts, small cubes of Butter bar, Orange Soda, and Tide Pool. Oriental stamp by SU with Black Onyx Versafine + clear EP.
The Aussie shots of the day are down at the North Rock Wall here protecting our harbour and marina - on another icecream Sunday afternoon stroll, you can tell it is summer here still. If you are freezing still or in wet weather hope these shots cheer your day. We actually had an inch of rain overnight in a summer storm, but haven't had much rain so far for 2016.

I'm delighted to welcome new wonderful encouragers - from Darnell's 6 NBUS Challenge (see here) - Sharon of the http://frommycraftdesk.blogspot.com.au/

There is another "Neet" - and I thought I was pretty exclusive - must check her blog out.
Well Shaz, first of all thank you for the photos of the ocean, lovely on a wet morning in the north of England. Am sure you remember those mornings from when you were over here - how I wish your relatives still lived in Manchester and you were visiting again. Would be nice to have you visit.
Thanks for the information on the lining but it is not sinking in at the moment so I will be back to examine more closely when I am fully awake. Got a cold so am not operating on all cylinders today.
Take care my friend
Blessings

Morning Shaz. Thanks for the sunshine - it's wild, wet and windy here this morning! Your cards are so lovely - well done.
Great sideways shot of your standing area - it's good to see folk's desks differently sometimes.
Take care. God bless.

Morning Shaz, Well it's a wet and windy one here today. Nothing like your photos. Your desk looks fun. I like the look of those stamps and the red and blue cockerels too.

What a lovely selection of cards you've made. They're all lovely Shaz, including those on your desk. I was surprised to hear that you stand to craft. I only stand up to stamp.

Thanks for your tip on links. I used it this morning. yippeee!

Oooh, Shaz, bless you for sharing, can you send us some of that lovely sunshine, it is so grey and miserable here, but your pictures of the ocean really cheered me up.
I like those cockerels on your desk, what are they?
that tree stamp set looks brilliant, but I do so little stamping, i don't need to covet anymore.
Thanks for visiting my site, and your nice remarks.

Hi Shaz, I do love those 'clean and simple' cards of yours- they are so lovely. May be ' caseing' them! I must check what happens with my link, or if I already have the box ticked- thank you for sharing that. Sometimes we have a bit of knowledge, and think everyone must know it, but in sharing we discover a lot didn't so we've helped some people.Have a great week, Hugs, Shaz #5 xxx

I had to go and check but my blog is set up to go in another window for links :) I do hate it when a blog takes you somewhere else and then you have to back track and the blog has to reload. Love that rose bouquet image and the framing of it all! The cards for your cousins are so pretty, and like how you made it a one layer card.
Yes your beach scenes always warm me up, thankfully we are in the 60's and 70's Fahrenheit for this week so that is sweet, bummer we also have cloudy rain days too but I will take the warmth that's for sure!

Good morning, Shaz. Thanks for your earlier visit. There is a pick there now and it is far from tidy. LOL. Fighting a head cold so running behind in my post. Thanks for the tip about the brayer. Off to put it in a bag (free of cat hair) and hang on the door. Off to visit a few desks then take cold meds and tuck back into bed. Creative Blessings! Kelly #61ish

What a great blogpost today. Lots to see. I love your purple covered chair. I used the link and looked at the chair when it was still red. My chair is red too, but then I don't have a purple carpet, lol.
Loving the beautiful photos of the sea and the gulls. Yes, it has brightened my day, thanks.
Your cards are stunning, especially the ones with the little birdie on the bamboo. Classy!
Sorry I´m late. I had my new computer today and I have been fiddling about with that but now I have everything going. (I am typing this on my new keyboard, which is Spanish, so I am constantly looking for things that are in a different place). I still have to sort out the printer and some speakers, but the system works!
Have a great week and thanks for visiting me earlier.

Lovely view of your creative space, Shaz. Very pretty wallpaper and table covering! Your masked cards are stunning - so delicate and pretty.

Thank you for your visit and your nice comment. Feeling very tired today and if I'm to make it to KnitterNatter tonight (our church craft group) I doubt I shall do any guitar practice today. First day I've missed since I started! I've been far too busy recently and suffering for it. Anyway, my small operation wound is healing well and is only tender to the touch now so I no longer need pain killers. It is still strange not having the port in my chest any longer!

Happy belated WOYWW,

I love seeing where you create Sharon!! I also love your colorful chair, even if you don't sit in it much. It is just so fun looking. Thank you for teaching us about the link thing. I didn't know that!!! Used to be we didn't have to check that box, or at least I never did and my links would open in a new window. I guess a change that I never caught on to! Bad me!! But now I know, so can make it so my links open in a new window. I don't like it either when I am redirected to a link from the blog I'm visiting. Cause then I'm clicking and clicking to get back to the blog. So thank you, thank you thank you! I'm glad your Uncle's 80th party went well and that lots of relatives where there. It sounded like a great time was had by you all. I love your beautiful cards. The second ones make me think of your beach photos. Which are stunning by the way. Gosh it must be so nice living by these beautiful views. Even though I'm not much of a ocean person, I sure do love to look at it. lol I think you are so blessed my friend to have such amazing views and areas to walk and have ice cream! Hugs, Brenda

The cards are awesome and nice view on those pics. We are so blessed with your participation in our previous Challenge and would love to have you back for our current Challenge at Word Art Wednesday. I want to share with you the inspiration of God's Word from Habakkuk 2:3-4 and it says, " For the revelation awaits an appointed time; it speaks of the end and will not prove false. Though it linger, wait for it; it will certainly come and will not delay. “See, the enemy is puffed up; his desires are not upright— but the righteous person will live by his faithfulness---." Have an awesome week!
